Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Great news DevonP...will be here before you know it. I dont think anyone can say what the weekly average weightloss will be. Everyone is different. Look at me I was banded for the second time on 26th feb and havent lost any weight cos I gave up smoking and was eating for England before my fills. I think at last I am over it. Its 12 weeks now, and i can even sit in a room with my Mum smoking her ciggy without wanting one. Some people drop a stone or two a couple of weeks after surgery. it then depends on how much restriction you get with your fills. You may be one of the lucky ones and only need a couple of fills, there again you may be like others and need 6 or more. But sweetie, you can be sure of one thing, if you have the op and enough fills to give you good restriction you will definitely lose loads of weight.:rolleyes2:

Jackie, I did Lighter Life when my first band was working as I wanted a quick fix. I dont think I had enough restriction, how silly am I ...but if you arent told you dont know. I wasnt really hungry, just missed the chewing of the food, with it being liquid. Why dont you try the pre-op diet of low fat and no alcohol (dont know if you drink or not) The milk thistle like has been said is to shrink your liver and cleanse it. I keep forgetting to say to Flirty, my daughter who is in Oz, is a size 12, and she had lipo on her stomach cos she couldnt get it flat. She went to Belgium, not Dr Chris though. I wouldnt recommend it really as she has a flat stomach now but seems to have put weight on around her thighs, weird. She says the fat moved lol, although we have a piccy of the fat removed, so they did take it out. I have a friend that also had lipo on her stomach, bum and thighs. I'll ask her if she would recommend it if you want me to. She went to Marbella for hers. I still cant get much down and I'm starving lol:w00t:

I have eaten today three quarters of a skinless sausage and 3 crackerbreads with Philly on. That was brekky and lunch. Still cant get soup down, how strange is that. Found out how not to have acid reflux at night......do not drink for at least 2 hours before sleep time.

DevonPilgrim.... you poor thing, we were all scared hunny, but you're asleep you dont know anything about the op, and afterwards the pain is bearable, you get painkillers and before that I'm sure they give you morphine, as you wouldnt be able to stand the pain of surgery at first . So talk to us, we have all been in that position and some of us still are, a few here are waiting to be banded. We will help you through it xx

Ahh Odgey, you do sound like you're not phased by the op at all. Good job eh!!! Thanx for your support Flirty and Garry...did I miss anyone, sorry if I did. I got up about 10am and havent had coffee yet and its 1pm, I know it wont stay down. But!!! get this I tried an oxo in hot water and I have drunk half a mug. I know what you're saying Garry, but I sat myself down this morning and gave myself a good telling off. This is what I have wanted for so long. I have read on different forums that its the norm for some people to not be able to drink until the afternoon, and these are people who's weight is dropping off. So I decided not to care or worry and not to drink anything thick, like the banana milk just before bedtime. My scales tells me that I have dropped 3kilos since yesterday, it cant be fat its gotta be water hasnt it!!. For as long as i can tolerate it, I'm going to stick it out. I think it will loosen up over the next few days anyway. This will kick start my weight loss.

Morning girlies and doods, well I was awake most of the night, waking up choking and then pb'ing, banana milk. But by 3 am, it no longer tasted like it, it was dreadful...sour. Am very tight this morning still, so have got some Diclofenic Suppositories, MVDB told me to use if I felt over=filled. I used one about 3ish this morning, now I dont remember if it helped or not, cos i was so tired by that time, so will try another in a few moments.

Of course not flirty, they will all be very reputable, but Mmm is correct in everything she says. I think you need to research each surgeon, go onto the main Spire site and they give you a list of what surgeons do what. Just find out who is the best and like Mmm says different hospitals (even though they are all Spire) charge different prices. I was told that the nearer south you go, the cheaper it becomes, because of the easy crossing to France, belgium etc, who are offering the same but cheaper. Well that was the case when the Euro was better. I am going to bed soon, struggling with banana milk now, and i dont want to feel hungry, cos I do a bit and tummys rumbling. BTW glad its all over for you Podge xxx See you tomorrow girlies...

Flirty I was banded twice in the Spire Southampton, they are exceptional hospitals. The care is second to none, worth every penny. They were previously called Bupa, all that has changed is the name.

Well Flirtydrawers, glad you had a good time I so wish I could have been there with you, could do with a good drink:tt2: Brilliant that everyone is ok after their surgery. Glad you ladies have your dates for ops too. Time will fly by. I went to manchester for my fill with Freddy boy today, he is eye candy aint he, bless, so nice as well. He couldnt believe my daughter was 6 months pregnant, she has only put on 6lbs in weight and the hospital say the baby is developing normally. However she wanted a de-fill cos she's now feeling hungry all the time and she cant eat much of anything. hence the big weight loss she's had. freddy told her she should really have most of the saline out, just to leave 1ml in, so that the baby gets everything she needs. Rachel only wanted 1 or 2 ml out and then she agreed with freddy . He took out 7mls. Now her fella cant get her out of the kitchen He very kindly put 1ml in for me. he said I should be ok with that, I now have 5.5ml in my band which holds between 9 and 11mls. Actually I could only manage half a chicken cup a Soup when I came home, and then just now I opened a tin of tomato soup but could only drink a quarter of it. Bring it on...... this is more like it:thumbup:

OMG!!! So much is happening in this thread, I cant keep up. I meant to ask Sammy how long she waited for her 2nd/3rd fill, I know it wasnt long, but she's gone to her in-laws now. Whats the least time between fills anyone has had here, cos I'm bricking it a bit now.

Oh Jackie, you poor thing, I bet you feel dreadful. Damn NHS pi$$ me off big time, how can they say they'll do it if you pay but refuse you cos you dont meet their criteria, they told me that I was too fit to have the op...huh!!!! No worries babe, you will get it done, if you are determined to get weight off to enable you to have the op, you're halfway there. I know you'll do it...if only to join the losers gang lol. Good luck hunny xxx I have booked myself and my daughter in with freddy boy in Manchester tomorrow. She's the one that is pregnant and wants a de-fill. I asked Dr Deprez if it would be ok for me to have another fill, having just had one on Saturday and he said have a chat to freddy maybe I only need .5ml in for good restriction. The same damn .5 ml that Michael took out duh!!! Last night for my tea I ate a whole packet of bachelors noodles, well thats not good restriction I know, cos when my other band was working I couldnt even eat noodles. I was a little worried cos it will only be 5 days since my last fill. But i have waited since february 2008 to get to this point so if you snooze you lose as they say.

Sammy I have sent you a pm, please read asap, dont keep suffering. xxx- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Ooops forgot, some sweet person said they liked my hair, thats a piccy taken about 2 years ago, I loved the colour, but hubby didnt, he says it doesnt suit me, so have had loads of highlights put in so it looks blondish now. Men eh!!!!- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
I even had a ciggy on the surgery morning, but havent smoked since....have craved for one though. Sammy, Michael told me to stay on liquids for 24 hours so had some food today at teatime, a little restriction now, so its a start eh. So glad you've got your restriction starting now chick, the weight will start to drop off you. Its all good. Flirtydrawers hope you get a good result from your fill, and good luck to all the girlies going for their bands xxxx- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
OMG!!!! I cant keep up with all the posts, can you imagine if we were all in a room talking at the same time what it would be like??? There are so many replies I want to make, I have to keep going back to read the posts over and over. Big Sis, missed ya loads hunny and many thanx for the funny mails, I am at the vicars for tea every afternoon actually  Flirtydrawers, many thanx for your post, I am so happy about my band being ok. Someone asked how I knew there was something wrong with my band....because I woke up one morning and just knew I could eat anything, whereas previously I had struggled with almost everything. I didnt have any pain at all, just stopped going out, so I could stay home and eat:lol: Thats how it made me feel.:tt2: Then I went for a fill and the next day had no restriction again. So had a contrast study under x-ray and they discovered I had a leak. They thought it was the actual band but after the new surgery, a year later (tried to get it for free, but just got offered a discount, so had to get a loan) Michael said the tubing had eroded and that was where the leak was. But i ended up with an all singing all dancing brand new latest model band!!! Dont be scared about the op, its only keyhole surgery, I had to have my old band removed which was a more painful and a longer procedure, and there's a piccy of me on here about Feb 28th sat in the chair a couple of hours after surgery and I look fine. The pain was under control, and you get oxygen which gives you a feeling of well-being so please please dont be scared, its easier than having a baby and I have 4 kids. Also my daughter has had 2 c sections and she said her band op was a doddle compared to that surgery. Fear not sweetheart all will be fine. I know there are more posts to reply to but i have to go visit my Mum very soon. be back later peoples xxxx- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
So many posts to reply to and I apologise if i miss anyone. Firstly many thanx girlies for your well wishes about my band/tubing being ok, you know what a relief it was for him to say its not leaking, the joy!!!!! Shelly I believe the filler is Wendy at wls, if i'm wrong the girlies will tell us, and she is supposed to be superb, so dont worry about that. Actually it was freddy boy that couldnt find my port the first time, cos my op wasnt done in Belgium, so I think it was just anothers surgeons work was unfamiliar to him. So no worries there either. Sorry to scare you, its just that my first band developed a leak after 2 years and we still havent had the examination results back from the manufacturer ( the band was removed from my tum and sent back to them) so I am paranoid, do you understand? *Wink smiley here* Good luck Jo for the weekend xxx. Sammy I am so jealous of you being able to get your fills every 2 weeks. I have to wait another month now for my next free one, unless I go to Southampton. Hubby isnt too happy about all the petrol money lol. tight git!!!- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Michael took out 2.9mls, so there's no leak. I am sooooo relieved. He said ok, I will put in 5 now, and then you have to drink a cup of water while you're here. As per usual I had a bit of trouble getting it down, and he got onto it straight away as much as I tried for him not to see, cos on my first fill I was the same, then the next day no restriction...and I told him that. He didnt care. And he insisted he take some out:unsure: He said he had a bad feeling about it, and didnt want me to be overfilled over the weekend. I now have 4.5 mils in, my band which holds between 9 & 11 mils. At least I'm on my way woo hoo :glare:- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
You're very welcome HC, the people in this thread are the salt of the earth. We have all been in the same boat and we know how you feel. We have girlies going to be banded this weekend here, so you may want to keep reading to watch for their return. You'll be glad you did. I have joined loads of different weight loss forums, but have never found such a great thread as this one. I love each and every one of the people on here. Thank you for your good wishes HC xx - Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
