  1. The closer I get to my surgery date, the slower the time seems to be going. I keep looking at videos, reading messages on here and just getting more and more excited and nervous. I just want to get it over and done with. I will however be documenting my entire process, I can't wait to tell you all how it all went down.

  2. I'm having surgery Sept 4th 2020 in Annapolis MD with Dr. Courtney Doyle, my experience so far has been very smooth and easy, they gave me all the information I needed and all the referrals were loaded into my patient portal, so all I needed to do was make the appointments. I have Maryland Medicaid and I thought that would make things harder for me but it really did not, I will keep you posted on my Surgery and how everything goes.

    HW: 404 lbs.
    5/22/20 preop: 377 lbs.
    8/27/20 current weight: 333
    9/2/20 Surgery Date :)

  4. Let me start by saying I really love this man , But..... since deciding to have WLS every time I bring up the surgery or things concerning it he is always being shady or condescending. I really wanted him to be happy and to support me but I see that its just not gonna happen. He keeps saying all of this is just happening too fast, and the kids are starting school.

LISTEN DEAR, I have been everything to everyone for many years and now its time for me, you can handle 1 weekend without me step your game up man.

NOW let's be clear I am not chickening out I am just ready to get it done so I can finally be on the other side of this waiting game. SEPT 4TH 2020...

  6. Everything is submitted and I am just waiting on Insurance approval and a surgery date, I cant believe I finished all the pre-op requirements, and I am almost to the finish line

( kinda ). I keep watching videos of people on surgery day dreaming that one day soon that will be me. I wonder how long I will have to wait for an answer I have United Healthcare Community in Maryland. I promise I will put my entire process on here for others because I have not seen anyone on here from Maryland going thru my hospital AAMC Annapolis or with my type of insurance.

I just need to get something off my chest in the hopes it'll make me feel better. I had all of my pre-surgery tests on July 29th. I was told I'd be called back within 2 weeks to schedule my surgery. Yesterday was 2 weeks. I've been keeping my phone with me like a magnet with the ringer turned WAY up, even at work. I'm on pins & needles just waiting for the phone to ring. I thought for sure I'd get the call today but it's 2pm and their office closes at 4pm.

I know I'm being impatient & there are more important things in the world so I should just chill but I can't. I'm scared that the tests showed something that will keep me from getting the surgery. I'm scared that they've lost my information. I'm scared that they tried calling me but my phone glitched and I didn't receive the call & they are waiting for me to call them back. I know I could just call the office to see the status but I don't want the office staff to label me as a troublemaker from the very beginning. This whole thing has got me so down. Thanks for "listening"

Omg....I am currently doing the exact same thing I have been waiting and waiting for some news from my doctors office my paper work was submitted to insurance Friday and I know its only been a few days but it's like my new life is waiting.

Please keep us/me posted if you receive any good news Good luck

    Hello Everyone,

I just got my surgery date set for August 26th, 2020. I am having the Gastric Bypass surgery. I am feeling a bit nervous but I excited at the same time. I am new here so any tips or general chats are welcome 😃

Congratulation on your surgery date, can I ask how long your entire process took before you got a surgery date

  9. Good morning I just wanted to give a little advise, I used an online nutritionist recommended by my Surgeon and group called New-Tri it was awesome and very informative, BUTTT be careful I had to pay for this out of pocket and now my team tells me that my insurance company may not accept it, so I may also have to take some additional nutrition classes. It is very frustrating. just FYI

Hopefully this wont push me back to far and I can get an approval and my Surgery date

  10. I just wanted to share my pre-op check list given to me by AAMC in annapolis so anyone new can have an idea of what they require
