KiKi, well welcome to the forum. Trust me you have plenty of company on the site to ask questions from and encourage you through this journey. Feel free to ask any question you want. I'm always honest. Good luck!

  2. It's been so long since I have been on the site, so I wanted to check in and see how you are doing. I don't know if you got the band or not, but if so, I wish you luck, love and plenty of exercise. Take a look at my new pics.

Saw your pics and you are doing great. Congrats on the weight loss. I need to put up some recents pics of myself as well. Haven't had a fill in a while, but you are inspiring me go to soon.

  4. OMG, you look so beautiful. How did you do it. I had my surgery actually before you did and I have a long way to go. I'm trying to be like you. I am currently a size 18 right now and I would be estatic to get to a size 8. How much and what kind of exercise were you doing? What were you eating and how much? Any advice that you can give would be greatly appreicated!!

  5. Hey, go ahead and start asking. I would love to help you with this process

Congrats, I am so happy for you. I still have about 30 to 40lbs to lose before my birthday, so wish me luck!

  7. I actually had Dr. Frank Felts do both my surgery and my husband surgery. It is just now 1 year for both of us and we are happy as can be. We were cash pay through True Results. Dr. Felts is no longer working with True Results and has own private practice, but he was fantastic.

  8. When does the book actually become available online through Barnes and Noble or Borders? Do you have a list of what the chapters are? Does it have nutrition info like what to eat etc?

    thanks in advance,

  9. Jodi,

I was reading over some of the posts and realized that you have surpassed your weight loss goals in less than a year. I was banded a few weeks after you, but I still have a long way to go. Can you give me any adivice on what you were doing regarding nutriton and recipes along with your workout routine? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advnace,

  10. Get the lapband. It's so much easier and you will achieve the success that you are looking for. My husband and I both got the lapband back in June 2008 and I am so happy. My all time high was 267 back in June 2008 and now I am weighing 202. I could have lost more since then but I have had some personal setbacks. I am finally getting back on track and working out again. I got comfortable with the amount of weight that I was losing and started eating like I was fat again. I threw away all of my fat girl clothes and I'm glad that I did. It is forcing me to get my act straight. My husband had his surgery in June as well, at the time of his surgery he weighed 312lbs, and is now weighing 245lbs, he has lost 67lbs, as I have lost 65 and we are happier, healthier and excited about life. I have gone from a size 22/24 to a size 16/18. I want to be a size 14 or maybe size 12.

  11. I was banded back in June of this year and I couldn't be happier. From August until now, I haven't been exercising and eating the way that I should, since that time in August I have only lost 6lbs. I know I should have lost more. I just fell back into my old habits of snacking on the wrong things during the day and not exercising. I have recommited myself and I am happy. I only weigh myself once a week, but I have gone from a size 24 at 250lbs to a loose 18 at 213.

Make sure that you get your protein in everyday, (don't want your hair to start shedding) and for once put yourself first. I was fortunate that my husband also had the surgery the week before I did, and he has gone from 312lbs to 250 now. He's lost 62lbs and he doesn't work out at all. He has a physical job, but he looks great.

My scars are very small. The largest one is about 1 1/2 to to two inches long. The rest (4 of them) are less than half an inch in size.

  12. I actually live in Frisco, Texas but I work in Dallas. Keep up the good work.

  13. Congrats on being banded on September 1, 2008. I'm rooting for ya.

  14. Sheila,

I was going through and I saw you pictures and I am in awe of how great you look. I wanted to know what you have done with regards to exercise and food choices that got you to where you are now. I'm making progress slowly but surely, but I want so badly to be where you are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks,
