I already had medically supervised weightloss from when I was in the Air Force so when I went to my PCP I brought those records, then she refurred me for surgery. Then the surgeon just needed me to do the phyce eval. I had an education day but that was mostly telling me how to eat after I have surgery. No EKG, no blood work, no endoscope.

I was told to get a whey Protein Isolate...Unjury is that...the GNC and walmart ones are usually not all WPI. unjury is pretty good...if you mix it with skim milk and put ice cubes in it after you mix it is almost like a melted frostee. mmmm frostee. no but really it isn't that bad! HTH Bobbi

Okay so I am terrible about actually remebering to ask the doc things so I am trying to make a list of questions that I should ask him at my pre-op appointment on friday. So what did you ask or what do you wish you asked? thank you all! Bobbi

My date is also the 13th....I am not worried, it all started when the templars got killed on that date all over Europe...maybe knowing the origins will help! I think it will be fine!

I don't know what a max age would be but I had an old lady in my education class that was prolly 70 or more...and she is getting hers on the 9th of June HTH! Bobbi

I was a 4/6 at 157lbs...Crazy I know! but I want to be out of overweight BMI so I decided to go with 149...that is 99 lbs from where i am right now...who knows when I will reach that goal...a year after my band I want to start trying for baby #2 ( we would be trying now if it wasn't for me getting banded) But it is much more important for my LO to have a healthy momma than to have a baby bro or sis close to her age.

CONGRATS!!!!! I am glad your Doc is finally on board! My DR was so easy...I moved into town a year ago and got her then...went in for my yearly this year...brought in my records of my weight loss attempts and she said ok here is your referral...and I had to see her for 3 months...just to make sure the insurance would approve...My Doc is pretty cool about listening to what her patients think and for us usually agreeing. not that you care anyways...what part of SW MI are you in? I grew up in Spring Lake by Grand Haven. I miss my Michigan!

I feel the same way! My surgery is the 13th...I have a massive headache and no energy...and I have a 1 year old...who is very needy right now...oh the fun! I hope your surgeries go well!!! Bobbi

the Protein helps to shrink the liver...atkins and slimfast shakes both have a lot of calories...they told me to stay away from them and use a high quality Protein shake like unjury...I know this helps your liver b/c I was having liver problems and all I did differantly was drink Protein Shakes mixed in Skim milk and my liver got better...not all the way better but better in about 5 weeks. Now my pre surgery diet is 40 g of protein from a shake a day...(2 shakes) I hope that all makes sense! Bobbi

I also worried about being under my weight for approval and my Dr said not to worry...that I was already at the weight that they would quote...for me 6 lbs over min. I am not sure if that is how your surgeons office is but it wouldn't hurt to let them know how you feel...they will prolly tell you what mine told me. HTH! Bobbi

I am on June 13th...eek. My sister is coming to visit me and help me with my one year old since I won't be able to lift her. I am nervous and excited about it all! Bobbi
