  1. Oh honey. I don’t think that is part of it. You may have something going on medically other than the sleeve. Please call your surgeon ASAP and explain what’s going on.

    What age was yours?

I’m 40 years old and have struggled with my weight since I was 8 years old. I just had my sleeve surgery on March 3rd. I wish I would have done this years ago.

    When does a phase start/end?

It is confusing. I was supposed to be on soft foods/purée starting my 3rd week per my nutritionist and my surgeon’s paperwork, but at one week my surgeon said I could move to full liquids and start adding in soft foods slowly. Wait...what??? Lol, so for me...I listened to my surgeon and my body. I started adding in soft foods around day 9, I think. My body wanted something more substantial than just liquids. It was different than a craving for something, it’s like I needed it. Good luck for both of us figuring this out. 😂

So mad at myself for regain

To me, that was my tipping point so to speak. Crying on the toilet bc I could not wipe my ass was the final nail in the coffin of the old me. Peace out old Camille! Hello new Camille! Every day is getting better.
  5. @Casey2020 no girl, no bra. You gonna be naked under that hospital gown. I went in my pj’s essentially with granny panties and a very comfortable sports bra. My surgery was scheduled for 10:30. I arrived at 8:30 and was clothed for about 30 minutes. Whatever you pack, pack comfortably. You’re going to be VERY bloated and full of the gas they pump into you for the surgery. Think Of what you would wear when you left work on Friday with no plans the weekend and you plan to lay on the couch and binge your favorite movies all weekend. They are going to have you up and walking ASAP, so make sure it’s easy to walk in.

So mad at myself for regain

Remember your why. Why did you want this back in 2014? For me it was not only my physical looks but other things. I couldn’t bend down and tie my shoes without having to breathe in between. Bending down like that cut off my breath. Another thing and this May be TMI, but I couldn’t hardly wipe my butt when I went potty. I remember sitting on the toilet crying because I couldn’t reach. I couldn’t walk or stand more than just a few minutes without my lower back burning and aching. Diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family. These are my whys. So you’ve gained 40 back. Thank God it’s not the 101, right? Start back with the protein shakes, maybe substitute a meal a day for one and when you’re comfortable with that substitute two meals a day with a shake. I lost 26 pounds in 3 months prior to surgery from that alone. When you want a snack in between, have one. But make it something healthy and filling like a banana or cottage cheese. You’ve done this before. You know what to do. All you have to do now is, just do it. Sending you positive vibes and hopes for your success!!! ❤️
  7. @Casey2020 that does suck not having anyone there with you. So are you outpatient? I was outpatient. If so, you get to see your hubby very soon! once you get int there and get going, it goes pretty quick. There will be all kinds of nurses in out doing different things getting you ready so you’re not going to be alone, but I understand wanting someone you know and love there with you. I wish you best of luck and congratulations on having your surgery!!! We’re gonna say it is happening to put that energy out there and so it is!
  8. I would definitely follow your surgeon’s instructions when you get them. The liquid diet is to shrink your liver which in turn aides in the success of your surgery and your safety. With that said, every surgeon has different requirements. Are you getting sleeve, bypass, RNY? I had sleeve on March 3rd. I think it would be a good idea to do some sort of diet or cleanse prior to surgery. Good luck on your journey!!

    Cals post op

Did you have to see a nutritionist in order to get your surgery? If so, can you call them? I’m only 16 days out so I don’t have those answers, but understand your worry. I know the Veterans will have answers. Every surgeon has different guidelines.
  10. Oh no! So sorry to hear of This terrible time you’re having. I hope those checks for the government to help are coming soon! Sending positive vibes to you.

    I’m hungry 😞

Oh honey, lack of protein is definitely going to affect your body and your mind. Have you talked to your surgeon about not being able to keep down the shakes? I’ve been using this bone broth and it’s really good and it’s 10 grams of protein per 8 ounces.
  12. Wow Ladies!! Such amazing inspiration! I just started following both of you on IG. I don’t do FB anymore so I’m glad y’all are both on Instagram ❤️ I’m checking our your blogs too! Thank you!
  13. Nothing is wrong. It’s normal for our bodies to play catch up. I stalled at day 12 for four days and actually went up a pound suddenly this morning I’m down 3 pounds. You’ll see just about everyone on here stalls pretty early on. I was discouraged to but I listened to the veterans advice and kept on doing what I was supposed to do and it starts again. It will start again for you as well. Just because you’re not seeing the number change doesn’t mean your body is not changing and getting a little smaller each day! It’s very exciting. Now, the next time I stall I’m going to try to listen to my own advice lol. Easier said than done, amirite?

    I’m hungry 😞

I’m 16 days out and on the soft foods, purée phase. Once you are off full liquids and can start consuming more substantial food the hunger will ease. I was very discouraged at first with the hunger pains and yes. It is a mind game for sure! Keep following your dr instructions and listen to your body. I have been hungry or so I thought a couple of times on the soft foods phase but when I began eating, I fill up sooner than I thought I would. You’ll figure it out day by day. oh and yes, the incisions do get itchy. I e always heard that means your skin and wounds are healing so that’s a good thing. 😊

    Coffee???? Yay or Nay???

My dr and nut did not take coffee off the table as it were. I’ve been having my morning cup of Joe every day since day 2. Some days I don’t drink it all and I’m using fat free, sugar free creamer and Splenda with no issues.
  16. @Krimsonbutterflies I just read about your loss. I don’t know what to say other than the strength and support you are providing to us on this site is amazing. I can’t imagine what you’ve been through. Thank God for women like you.
  17. @Mello1 so good to hear from you! Im glad you made it thru surgery and are on the road to recovery. In a few days you’ll start feeling better. I wish you best of luck on your journey!! ❤️
  18. I feel much better today. The sick feeling only lasted for about an hour but it was still pretty terrible. I’m sticking with fair life milk for now and not trying anymore dairy-based products for a while. I’ve done well with Refried beans, prunes, butternut squash soup and eggs. I tried turkey sausage a couple of times and I understand the feeling of “cement” in my tummy so that’s something I can’t handle yet. It’s trial and error at this point. I don’t like the error part.
  19. @catwoman7 I am definitely lactose intolerant now.
  20. From the world according to eggface blog: Shelly's Ricotta Bake 8 oz of Ricotta Cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.
  21. I made Shelly’s Ricotta bake from her blog. It was mostly Ricotta tho.
  22. Probiotic prunes helped me. I chewed them up really good when I was allowed to have soft foods, of course.

    Two big goals reached

Sandra congratulations on making it the 100’s! I’ve got about 20 pounds to go to get there. I haven’t seen that number at the beginning of my weight in way too long. Also, sending positive vibes to you and your son. That sucks to hear about the job loss. We’re in uncertain times right now and it is very scary.
  24. @AJ Tylo I love your humor!! Thank you for that laugh 😆 😂
