@biginjapan Are you originally from the US? If so, do you think you’ll ever come back?

    single sucks after surgery

@AJ Tylo when this virus is over perhaps I should should travel outside the USA, lol. I have friend who used hinge app prior to his trip to France and found a hook-up that has now turned into a long distance relationship. ❤️

    What am I feeling?

Yes. The dumping syndrome is so real and so terrible. That’s what I mean when I say new foods are making me sick. Eggs right now are the only food not making me feel like that. It puts me down for a couple of hours when I feel it. Ugh. But I got into a pair of pants yesterday that I haven’t been able to in a couple of years!

    single sucks after surgery

@Dawn Hanaphy thank you for sharing this story of hope!! I am 40 and I’ve been in therapy for the past year after finally getting out of a very volatile domestic violence relationship. It really is true about a woman taking on average 7 times to finally leave their abuser for good. I lost a lot. My home, my pets, my independence. I had to move 50 miles away and into my family’s home. Luckily, my employer stuck with me through all this and provided me amazing support. Sorry didn’t mean to go off on a tangent. Just sharing my experience and my anxiety of dating now. Going through that hell is the main reason I got so overweight. I comforted myself with food and alcohol. I’m much better today and much more gentle with myself and making good choices. I’m scared of getting into another relationship. I’m scared of dating in my 40’s. Dating in my 30’s was hard enough. Every one comes with their own baggage. Their own wounds from past heartbreak. I hope I’m not a Debbie Downer but a lot of us are struggling trying to navigate this new dating dilemma. I’m not ready yet, but I know it’s going to be a challenge when the time comes. As I lose more weight, I think it will give more confidence to get out there and go fishing. Lol @Paul Hufnagl I hope you find love soon or at least some excitement and good times! I would say enjoy the process but you may not want to hear that. I wonder if there are dating sites specifically for those of us who have had weight loss surgery? Hang in there. Keep putting yourself out there and it will happen.

    What am I feeling?

@Dawn Hanaphy Mine is scrambled eggs - well one egg - with just a pinch shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. It’s the only food that does not give me the fast heart rate and nausea 10-15 after eating. Thank Goodness we have found that one food that each sustains us right now. ❤️

    What am I feeling?

@Krimsonbutterflies This rings so true for me!! This is not the easy way out at all. I knew it was going to be a life changing event, but it is really hard getting sick a lot from trying new foods. I’ve tried tuna. I loved tuna before but nope I get so sick. I wanted to love the ricotta bake...so sick. I can do just a tad of cottage cheese. Do y’all get the rapid heart rate after eating or drinking protein shakes?? I do in the afternoon and the evening for sure but not so much in the mornings. I hate it. I hate the rapid heart rate. That alone makes me feel like crap. There is a learning curve for sure after this surgery and it is not the easy way out.
  8. Yayyyyy!!! Congratulations 🎉🎈 you look great!!! Thanks for sharing! I’m a 3/3/20 sleever.

    What am I feeling?

Ohhhh I see. Yeah, give yourself a little more time. If you’re concerned definitely reach out to your surgeon and NUT. I cannot eat anything other than eggs with cheese right now. Every other soft food is making me sick. I’m able to take my vitamins so it’s fine with me. I’ll eat as less as possible as long as I can. 😃

    What am I feeling?

Perhaps your body is not ready for solid foods yet. I’ll be 4 weeks post op this coming Tuesday and in no way do I feel I’m ready for solid foods. I’m still in the soft foods stage and I’m still experimenting with my new tummy. When I first started eating soft foods I was eating more than I am now. About a week ago I could scarf down two scrambled eggs and some applesauce and a protein shake. As time goes on, I can’t eat like that. Now one scrambled egg will fill me up and if I eat more than one I’m hiccuping the rest into the toilet. It’s different than throwing up because it never really went all the way down. Maybe take yourself back to soft foods and protein shakes a little longer. Our bodies will let us know when we’re ready to move forward. Hope you feel better soon!
  11. I no longer use the app for this site. I simply open internet browser for my iPhone, so safari. There are two ways to update your weight in this site on safari. 1) scroll down all the way to almost the bottom and it will show how many pounds we’ve lost together. You can update it there. 2) Go to the top right and choose under the menu where it shows notifications... choose my surgery. That will take you to your surgery info and you will see a drop down. Choose my progress. You can update your weight there. The app for BP on iOS is not user friendly. It’s very hard to use. Use safari. It’s much easier for us iPhone users.
  12. When I first started soft foods occasionally I would feel like I had cement in my new pouch. It goes away I guess as the food digests but I’m not sure if that is the case for you. I wish I had a better answer for you. I hope you feel better soon.

    It's going slow

I was sleeved on 3/3 as well and I’m down 14 pounds. I wanted to lose faster as well but I’m happy it’s working. Slow and steady wins the race per all the parables in childhood. ❤️ Good luck and keep up the great work! It will work for both of us as long as we keep putting in the work.

    Finally!!!

    Congratulations on your success!
  16. Hello beautiful people of this site! just saw on Twitter where US restaurants are encouraging a Great American take out day to help the economy. Now I’m all about helping the economy in what we can do... I’m in the purée / soft foods phase. Did any of y’all have a go to from your favorite restaurant that you just had to have in soft food form? You brought it home and put it in the food processor? Or what will you be taking out because you’ve graduated to full foods?

    Constipation

I’ve used Miralax and probiotic prunes. That has worked for me when I needed it. Hope it all works out soon. 😃 Seriously though, hope you feel better soon. I had gastric sleeve surgery on March 3rd. ❤️
  18. As far as gas, the pain I experienced post op was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. No, I’ve not had any children but I’ve had my boobs and my nose worked on...those were a piece of cake compared to this. The only relief I found was with a product called Charco Caps. It’s activated charcoal. It works on gas in your body not just your colon like Gas-X is designed for. I took Gas-X and it did nothing for the gas pain for me. I hope you’re feeling better!!
  19. I use Baritastic right now but I’m not eating a whole lot right now other than eggs, cottage cheese and beans. It’s seems to be user friendly so far.

    I want to eat

Hang in there @Mello1 it will get better ❤️

    I want to eat

Yes there were a lot us who felt hungry in the all liquid phase. That will decrease quite a bit when you start eating soft foods. I’m 3 weeks out and don’t feel the hunger pains I felt the first couple of weeks. How many days post op are you?
  22. @IWantTheDream I’m so sorry to hear this for you. I know it’s devastating. My own surgery was delayed from Jan 14th to March 3rd. Just remember, this is not a no. It’s just not yet. You’ll have yours soon!
