hi! im doing well, i just got to my apt after being away from my scale for 2 weeks over the holidays, all this time im thinking i gained weight for all the holiday food... i wasnt going to weigh myself until the morning, but according to the scale 20 minutes ago, i lost three pounds the last 2 weeks... awesome considering all i had to eat today was airport junk! hope you are doing well, your bikini pic is AWESOME by the way!

haha well i dont know about you but i associate "the most common name in america" with boring! im going to make sure my kids get a unique name... i dont know.. something like... devo.
-
good im so glad everything went well! yeah its funny that the hardest part of the post op diet is getting ENOUGH food! total 180 for us, right huh? haha well once you heal you will get hungry... which is what happened to me until i got a fill. my first fill was a day before it hit 4 weeks. that helped me stay full until i slowly started needing more, so my next fill is at about 7 weeks post surgery (this coming wednesday). my surgeon's office does things differently and schedules fills ahead of time, so my 3rd fill is at 10 weeks post surgery, and i have a 4th fill at 12 weeks if i need it. hopefully in the next few months i will find the perfect restriction because right now i am trying realllly hard not to eat.. but my stomach is growling! time for an adjustment, definitely.
let me know if you have any more questions!

awesome! yeah i got my first fill of 1cc at 4 weeks, and i am getting another fill jan 7th. so it's devo, right? that's a cool name. mine's jane... pretty plain and boring haha.

AWW you are one of my bestest lapband buddies! so what happens if your blood work comes back saying you have a clotting disorder? try not to let it get to you too much, i know its hard but you're right-- at least now you know you can do the liquid diet! and hey-- its so much easier to do only liquids after you've been on it awhile, so you might as well lose weight while you're waiting around for those slow utah-ians!
MERRY CHRISTMAS CHELSEA! you are awesome! i would have cried for weeks so clearly you are a stronger person than i am
chin up m'dear

ohhh no chelsea! when you told me i had to investigate and read that your blood work didnt come back in time...
i hate all the loops! but don't worry too much about it, it will be a wonderful new years present when you get your new surgery date, i'm sure! if you wanna talk about stuff you know you can always talk to me

sorry it took me so long to respond, i was in chicago this weekend.
first of all, thanks! im glad you got something out of my post! i'd say listen to your doc, though it sounds like he gave you a more strict pre-op diet. not necessarily a bad thing at all! my doc was ok with sugar free pudding, which i mixed with protein powder and found to be AWESOME. i had it for bfast and snacks when i thought i was going to eat my hand. my doc was ok with 16oz of skim milk a day.
he told me the purpose of the preop diet was to shrink the liver, and the best way to do that is to cut out almost all carbs and sugar. the liver sits right above the part of the stomach your surgeon will be working on. it just reduces the risk of complication in surgery.
on the plus side, any weight you lose before surgery just makes it that much easier to get to your goal weight afterwards!
sorry i just realized i am writing you a novel. send me a private message if you have more questions!

hey sorry! i was on the phone this morning when you started talking to me on facebook chat. i dont know why that had me as online, i usually always have it set as off lol so thats why i didn't notice it until after you logged off..

haha you got me. when i read your wall post i was like "i don't think i said anything funny?" so i had to read what i wrote again, and yeah. texas is the best state. its serious.
like i said. jealousy. its no big deal, we get it all the time.
-
haha you're just jealous.... you know you want to live in the ... best midwestern state .... missourah. i couldn't say it was the best state. clearly we all know that is texas.

haha i normally hate finals week... but this semester was especially rough. except now im excited, because i guess i was so stressed yesterday that i could hardly eat anything more than a protein bar and 2 bananas.... well guess what, i lost 2 pounds pretty much overnight! i broke my first of probably many plateaus... felt good. hopefully the stress is out of my system though, so that i'll get a fill today... i'll need some help over this stress-free winter break..
