Thank you so much for your response, but what you are telling me is not the case. I simply am losing weight at a snail's pace and that's with STRICT dieting (500 - 700 calories daily since February 26. I communicated with my surgeon to be certain that she did, indeed, remove as much of my stomach as she had told me she would. She reassured me that she did, but she had no feedback as to why I'm hardly losing.

WOW !!!
You've done phenomenally well!!! BIG congratulations to you !!
WILLPOWER certainly has so much to do with it.

My sister and I are dieting together. I had a gastric sleeve performed on February 26.
My sister did not have weight loss surgery.
We are both ingesting approximately 600-700 calories per day.
We are losing at the same rate.
Go figure.

I really believe it all comes down to calories ingested. Have you been counting yours?

So good to hear from you Lisa. Yes, I'm quite frustrated because I feel that with the amount I'm eating I could lose weight without having surgery. I'm averaging 600 - 700 calories daily. I could eat everything in the house some days and I think I could fit it in. I don't feel like my stomach capacity has changed at all but my surgeon says she removed 85% of it!
Frustrated in Massachusetts LOL

Get Prilosec. Chances are it's the same thing they gave you in prescription. It was for me.

Try simethecone (gas x). It works!

QuoteSomeone earlier talked about baking strawberries at 125 Degrees for an extended amount of time. I didn't catch for how long? Does anyone here know?

Meant to say IT cannot help.

Not judging you by any means. Just try your hardest not to do it. I cannot help for sure. Can it harm? Who knows. I would not take the chance.
We both know it's not just once.
Best to you,

Thank you for your response to my post Cammy. It made a lot of sense and was very helpful. I've been getting discouraged but folks on here are great and have helped a lot. Yes, I don't have THAT MUCH to lose and I think it makes a difference.
Best to you and yours

Hi Lily:
I've been wondering how you are doing! So nice to hear from you. Last time we talked you were suffering from some Constipation. I have had some of that too. Seems to have resolved with some changes in what I eat. Many thanks for responding (so nicely) to my post.
Best to you and yours!

Hello all:
I underwent gastric sleeve surgery on February 26, 2020 so I'm just about 4.5 weeks out. I'm following diet rules to the letter and ingesting at least 60 ounces of Fluid daily. I have lost 13 pounds in the 4.5 weeks. I read about others who have lost 24 or so in the same time period. I don't know what earthly good going through holy hell with the surgery did. I asked my surgeon if she was successful in removing most of my stomach and she said she was certain that she did. I average about 600 - 700 calories daily. The only positive thing I can think of about the surgery is that I cannot eat TOO much. I did that once and I suffered. Still wondering why. It was terribly painful, and I had a lot of nausea. Don't know if it was worth it.

I'm four weeks out also. I had my first Protein Bar last evening and it went down well and I feel fine this morning.

I'm a little fuzzy on how long we need to ingest 60 oz of water/fluid daily post surgery. Can someone enlighten me please?

10 pounds a month I could do without surgery. BUT I guess the difference is that the surgery won't LET you go off your diet without suffering for it.

Please define a "mini bypass" for me. I don't know what that means.
Thank you.
