I did not know that about being the most problematic. Are you comfortable wearing shorts and stuff? On 01/27/2021 at 10:30, kristieshannon said:
Mine aren’t great, I’ve always been “bottom heavy”. However, I had a Tummy Tuck a couple weeks ago and actually got some improvement in my thighs from that. Not sure if I’ll do a thigh lift down the road or just learn to live with it. Thigh lifts seem to be the most problematic plastic surgery. I’m going to keep working out for the next couple years and see what I can accomplish that way before making a decision.

I’m curious how your thighs looked after surgery? I’ve always had big thighs and I’m lm looking forward to wearing short skirts this summer... wondering how everyone’s thighs looked after losing 100 pounds??
-
Thank you for responding! That makes me feel better... just so dang frustrating when you work so hard and you see that. Yesterday abs the day before I was only able to work out for 35 minutes instead of my usual hour Because of time constraint and I was like seriously?! Ugh I hope you’re right!! I had a great week last week and now this ... trying not to get discouraged but it’s hard.
I was also just put back on birth control.. seasjonique (the generic one). The dr said I shouldn’t gain weight...
I’m questioning everything now 🤦🏼♀️ -
I had surgery September 15th and the last two days I’ve gained weight. Please tell me this has happened to other ppl?? That it will go away?? I’m so upset!

This is scary! How’d everything turn out? I hope you’re home and much better now!On 10/04/2020 at 20:14, ahillig said:
So I'm still being held hostage. I am on full liquids now, but it takes me two hours to eat 2oz of Soup and 2 oz of yogurt, that's the only way I don't have pain. X-rays and CT showed no obstruction so I'm having an EGD sometime tomorrow to see what my pouch looks like. They're thinking it might be pouchitis, yes it's a real thing apparently. They think that my severe vomiting the other day irritated it and that's what is causing the pain. I can drink about 2tbsp of Water at a time now which is a vast improvement. Still get twinges of pain with anything in my stomach.

Thank you! Can I ask what your starting BMI was?On 10/06/2020 at 10:23, ChubRub said:
Don't know why it's not showing up, but here's a cut and paste:
Pre-Op Diet -12; M1-19; M2 -7; M3 -10; M4 -7; M5 -7; M6 -9; M7 -8; M8 -9; M9 -8

I had gastric bypass in 9/15. I am 5’1 and day of surgery I weighed 250. I have Hashimotos. I’m just looking to see ppl with similar stats and their weight loss. Please, I know everyone is different, looses differently etc. I just would like to see how other ppl are getting along. So far, I’ve lost about 18 pounds post op and that seems to be so little to me. I lost about 3 or 4 pounds this week (third week weigh in) and that seems so minor. Again, I know everyone is different, I’d just like some similar ppl sharing journies so I can relate! Thank uou!

Hi! We’re almost surgery buddies! I had mine on the 16th!
I know what you mean there’s some noises happening down there lol but yeah so weird how I really don’t feel hungry.
How are you feeling? How is recovery?? -
Oh I am for sure staying on plan. Just a general comment! Was just curious what the rumbles were!On 09/20/2020 at 18:12, The Greater Fool said:
These are actually pretty standard questions.
The standard answers are pretty much you just had surgery. As long as you're not feeling pain, everything else can go either way. Hungry / not hungry, both are common. Rumbling / no rumbling, again common.
Your plan at 1 week is purposely bland, gentle, and boring. Keep doing your plan.
They key thing early on is to stay on plan, learn how to eat again.
Staying on plan, following your rules, is the most important aspect of your surgery aside from your actual surgery. We got where we were by doing what we thought was right. It wasn't. The surgery changed your plumbing. Your plan changes your head. Stick with it.
Good luck,
Tek

May seem like an odd question 😅 but.. I haven’t felt hunger yet. I had my surgery September 15th. I have had a lot of noises from my tummy tho. I’m wondering if this is my insides settling (kinda like a csection) or if this is a hungry tummy rumble without the empty hunger pains? 🤔 I should be starving.. I’ve basically only been drinking with maybe a few sooonfuls of broth. I’m so over broth I just can’t stomach it anymore 😓

Thank you!! You helped calm me down 😅😅 I’m starvingggg lolOn 09/13/2020 at 15:15, IWantTheDream said:IWantTheDream reacted to this -
I’m suddenly panicking. Surgery is the 15th. I’ve been on a liquid diet since Tuesday. The nutritionist told me that I could have a banana during the day if I needed sowmthing. Now reading other things, I’m afraid doing that has messed up my liver shrinking?? I’ve had one to two bananas a day since Tuesday. Please tell me I haven’t messed up?

Why did she need bed pads?On 08/27/2020 at 18:37, JessLess said:
Don't buy a case of anything unless you decide it's not gross. Your taste may change after the surgery. I also bought some bed pads since one of my friends needed them after surgery. I ended up giving them away. I drank a lot of Premier Protein shakes and Water at first. I bought some plastic 2 oz. cups, since that was all I was supposed to have at first. I used them.

I’m scheduled to have my gastric bypass this coming Tuesday and I’m so anxious. I’ve wanted this and I’ve been ready and now I’m can’t stop worrying. Am I doing the right thing? I have a 5 year old that I’m his whole world.. what if something happens?? Ugh someone please please help me
-
Yes, I’m curious too as to why you are still in the hospital. I was told the norm is 1-2 days. Obviously, everyone is different... just curious. I’m scheduled for 9/15!

Good morning! My Gastric Bypass RNY is scheduled for September 15th and I’m trying to prepare for when I get home. What did you all have ready? What did you love? What did you not use? Any and all info is so appreciated!

Once they got my approval, I was scheduled for three months later.. but that’s only because COVID has them so backed up. I have my surgery scheduled for September 15.

Good to know, thank you ladies! Hopefully the same can be done with nature throid
-
I am currently on nature throid. It’s a pretty small pill, as well. Maybe I’ll bring it into my surgeons office for my pre op and see what he thinks. Were you able to take it right away after surgery or did you have to wait?08/20/2020 01:49 PM, BigSue said:
I take Synthroid and it is a tiny little pill. I have had no issues taking it normally. -
My Gastric Bypass RNY is September 15th!! I’ve had my date for three months now (they’ve been backed up with corona hold backs). It’s coming up quick!! Good luck to you ❤️

Good morning. I am scheduled for Gastric Bypass RNY in September 15th. I’m told my thyroid medication can not be crushed or put into liquid form. I haven’t had my pre op yet but I will ask them. Just curious what others have done?? Thanks in advance!
