Is the process to get insurance to pay for the revision the same as the process for getting the original sleeve ?

Okay, I'll play along! I don't have a "before" pic that really represents how big I was, because I generally avoided being photographed back then. My before is from a chorus concert I did--and I will admit that I was wearing a "man girdle" at the time. (Cringe.)
I went from 250 to a low of 132 before bouncing back up to 142.

These are such an inspiration. I'm 5 weeks out and have hit a stall, the scale did move some this morning, and I have been so discouraged. Every time I have lost weight in the past, I would stall after losing 20 lbs or so, and then gain 30. I love seeing the before and after pictures because I feel like with this tool, there is hope!! Thank you all for sharing.

This is more of a before and during, as I am not quite to goal. First pics were right before starting my pre-op diet in late June and the last pic is two days ago. Size 20-22 down to an 8 in less than seven months. Loving all of the energy I have now!

Everyone looks so great. Congrats on your success.
I lost 31kg in 6 months which was my goal & a further 11kg in the last 13 months. The first pxt was about 6 months before surgery - can’t believe I was that big. The second was last week.
It’s a big decision to change how your body functions so your worries are understandable. Having surgery was the best decision I ever made. My journey was pretty smooth. A couple of little hiccups (low blood pressure, a little hyperglycaemia) all manageable & all things I’d experienced in the past when I had been slim. Certainly nothing that makes me regret my decision.
    Good luck on your journey.

I'm a guy but hope this helps. This came up as one of those "memories" timeline photos - MAY 2019 vs MAY 2020 on the same day. Surgery is a helpful tool, but you have to put in work as well! (VSG not bypass - but same concept)

first picture was me before I started my six-month supervised diet (2014). I think I was at my highest weight ever. Second picture (from 2017) is of me when I was two years out of surgery (this was before I had my skin removal surgery, though...I had that in Aug 2018 and March 2019). Last one was of me on my 60th birthday (last year). I've put on some weight since the 2017 picture - but excess skin is gone!

Hcat got a reaction from SoulGardener in 1 year after gastric sleeve problems...
There's a lot of great advice on this forum, both nutrition for your body & mental well being. I have been a very private person with my weight struggles, but have laid it all on the line in this forum, it's helped me immensely. There has been some really great suggestions so far, so forgive me if I repeat them. I always have a bottle of water with me & sip it when I look at it. I also take my multi vitamin, calcium, B12, Vit D & get my my protein in & try to eat when I am not hungry. When I go places I pack protein shakes & tuna pouches to eat. I have found that weekly chewable Vit D wafers work best for me, but that is def an individual thing. I know how frustrating it is when you are feeling as you do & the doctors tell you that you are fine. Hang in there & remember this forum is always here for you!

Your post resonated with me. My 10 pre op diet took it's toll on me, before hand I had read where some people would start to feel weak around the 5th day, I tired easily & was in a brain fog.

Hello, I am new to this and also new to the by pass group... my surgery was oct 22, 2020. I have felt this feeling you are talking about, I call it "the twilight zone" it feels disconnected and my bp would be low also. I started feeling it some when I changed my diet, I thought it was keto brain, but when I did the pre op 500 cal shakes only for 2 weeks it got much worse. Now that I'm (almost) 3 weeks post op I feel it less often but add being extremly exhausted. I worry after reading your post that this could be a long term problem. I lost from 365 to 273 pre op, I wondered if I should put the surgery off and do it on my own but I could only imagine regaining what I had lost, like I always have. Sorry this is so long.
I wonder if your bp is low during the times you feel you could pass out?

Hcat got a reaction from New Me, New Mind in 17 days post-op and I'm gaining weight. :-(
Hang in there & try to get your water & protein in. I also noticed if I had anything that had too much sodium I retained fluids & the scale didn't like that. I also freaked out & actually tested my scales by weighing a small 2 lb weight to make sure my scales were accurate, they were. Mother Nature wasn't nice to me, but afterwards the excess water weight dropped back off. I still take a stool softener as prescribed, just to help things out. Hope that wasn't tmi but those last couple of things did affect my numbers on the scales. I just went through a plateau & was grateful for all of the advice I read on this forum.
Good luck & remember we are all here for one another!

sure...... Well the biggest one was the marriage. I was married for 26 years. I was blinded to what our relationship was really... It was about me being a pleaser and him being a taker. The fatter i got the worse i felt and less confidence i had.... the more control he got. I couldn't even buy underwear without his ok. Never physically abusive... but very mental. The more confidence i got... the less control and he hated it. He NEVER approved of my WLS. Now i know why. He never wanted me to lose weight period... Back then i didn't see, i thought if only i could lose weight he would love me and show me affection... NOPE it got worse. When he saw that he had no control over me losing weight.. he would start saying.... You know, you were prettier when you were fat, you have wrinkles now... or that i looked like a bag of bones... i could go on and on.
Lost my larger friends.... I didn't fit in with them anymore. They didn't want to hear about my weight loss or eating or going to the gym. Lost some of my thinner friends too.... after i lost weight i was no longer the "fat" girl in the group and they hated that people showed me attention.
But.... my true friends supported me when i was Banded. I still choose to keep the sleeve to myself this time. Just easier to not talk about it.
