I’m refocusing in 2022. Refocusing on my why and behaviors that helped in the past.

I totally agree!On 11/14/2021 at 22:19, Arabesque said:
The calories you need to maintain will depend on many factors like age, gender, metabolic rate, how active you are, height, build, etc. Yes, you will be eating much fewer calories than you did before surgery (but let’s be honest that was why you were overweight - it’s why we all were) but the calories will increase as you progress & are physically able to eat more. To begin, I was eating <300 calories, <900 by goal & now eat about 1300 to maintain at my weight. But I’m also female, older than you, have a small frame & am not very active.
It all comes down to that basic equation: to maintain a weight the calories you burn must equal the calories your body burns to function. Eat more than you need you gain. Eat less you lose. If you want to maintain at a lower weight eat fewer calories. If you want to maintain at a higher weight eat more calories.
I eat way more food now in a day in terms of volume than I did when I was overweight. I eat way more frequently now too. The difference is the number of calories I eat & the quality of the food I choose to eat.

Thighs: while laying in bed or on the floor, lift leg 10x, leg circle 10x, leg bicycle 10x. Then do the other leg

YouTube or podcast search: Dr Robert Cywes. He’s a Bariatric surgeon that understands overeating has nothing to do with hunger. He says overeating and snacking are emotional not physical. And to lose the weight you have to address any issues and have a plan for “cravings”. Like others, he reiterates the sleeve is a tool not a cureOn 02/16/2020 at 14:36, Shparks said:
I actually did find the first part of this to be true. For a long time I never felt physically hungry. However, I still gained the weight back because the desire to eat has nothing to do with hunger for me. If the doctors believe that removing hunger is a cure for overeating, then they do not really understand overeating.

Your health is more important. Especially if you want to be around for your baby at least 18 years.

In the meantime, eating junk is not going to help you get to goal after the surgery. Not implementing stress management tools will haunt you post surgery. I’m speaking from experience... I would drop by the office like others suggested.
While you’re waiting, YouTube Dr. Jason Fung.

I have to take a lot of medications with Breakfast and with dinner, so I was struggling a bit with IF. I get nauseated and sick if pills aren't accompanied by some food. I had to adjust everything so I'm now doing 14 hour fasting window, with a 10 hour eating window. Unfortunately, due to my long working hours, sometimes it's 12:12 by the time I get around to eating dinner. Hopefully, I'm still getting some benefits from this IF approach. It's early days. My long term goal is to find an approach I can use for the rest of my life. It would be great to lose some more weight and then finally figure out this maintenance business!
If you can only do 12 hours, it’s ok. The scale is moving and that’s the ultimate goal. Consistency is the most important tactic.

Never mind...I found a similar post.....I just started IF combined with Keto. I’m concerned about my metabolism. I’m doing 18:6 eating 2 meals no Snacks. Eating Protein first then veggies fills me up quickly. So I’m sure my calories are extremely low. Any advice? Or don’t worry?
never mind

I’m 6 years post. I think you just send a message to the person’s inbox now if you want to chat privately. No chat rooms. But you’ll get great response just adding a question like you did
