Can I see some before and after pics?

These are a couple of my favorite before and afters 😊 Surgery was May 14, 2020 So I’m exactly 8 month out today! Gastric bypass Starting weight: 268 Current weight: 148 So that’s a total of 120 pounds gone! ❤️ I feel better than I’ve ever felt with have more self confidence and self worth! No regrets! Congratulations on your surgery date!!! wishing you the best of luck!
  3. I had gastric bypass 5/14/20 and have lost 118 pounds....everything has been going great...but in the last few weeks I’ve started getting what feels like heartburn randomly....I’ll take some calcium chews or I’ll eat and it will go away....I’m scheduled to see my doctor soon but I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this after having the bypass? If so what did your doctor say or do to treat it?

    Heart burn? Ulcer? Help!

Thank you! I’m scared because it has started happening more often and every google search says ulcer...I was never scoped before my surgery so I’m not sure what to expect...or if they’re going to want me to get tested for covid before scoping me (which is terrible)...I’m just feeling a lot of anxiety about this

    100 pounds!!!!

Thank you everyone! I’ve kept my surgery a secret from a lot of people except for a few close friends and family members so it’s nice being able to be open and honest and having such a supportive group of people! ❤️

What to tell work during co-vid??

I told my work that I was having gallbladder removal surgery (which I did, it was just while I was also having gastric bypass) but I had to tell our Human Resources office everything for me to qualify for FMLA bc the hospital fills out the paperwork. But legally they are not allowed to tell anyone about you or your medical history.

  18. I agree with catwoman7....i believe it’s based on each individual person...I didn’t have fullness until I started solid foods...I’m only 3 months post op RNY but I can eat 3-4 bites and feel full....the full feeling goes away pretty quickly....But that’s why eating high protein meals 4-5 times a day is important.

    Gastric Sleeve vs Roux-en-y

I had my surgery 5/14/20....there was more pain and discomfort than what I originally expected for the first week but by the beginning of week 3 I had no pain and minimal discomfort and went back to work. I haven’t really had any issues other than having trouble figuring out what my body can and cannot tolerate....for example I can’t eat tuna bc it feels like I swallowed a bag of rocks every time I eat it...but so far that’s the only thing I’ve had issues with. I’m just over 3 months post-op and I’m down 63 pounds as of this morning! Ask all the questions you have!! I’ll answer them to the best of my ability! ☺️

    Gastric Sleeve vs Roux-en-y

I had the same thoughts when considering which surgery I wanted....i considered the sleeve for several reasons...a few being that the actual surgical procedure was less than half the time it would take to do the bypass and I heard recovery wasn’t as bad. I also have a few close friends who had the sleeve and are more than happy with their results. I ended up deciding on RNY due to my occasional acid reflux and I was nervous about regaining my weight and falling back into the old habits that got my in the situation I was in before surgery. I didn’t want to have to deal with the possibility of needing revision surgery and having to go through everything twice. I figured I was already going to be under anesthesia so I just thought “I’m not going to know how long I’m asleep” lol But I know several people that had the sleeve and it was a perfect fit for them with long term success to back it up! It’s really just up to you!

    YESSSSS!!!!

Congratulations!! It’s a very exciting time for you!! These next few months will fly by and your surgery day will be here before you know it!

Recent RNY - How ya doing?

I had RNY on May 14th! Had my 3 month check up 2 days ago and I’m down 62 pounds! I feel great! I do HIIT 3 days a week and cardio the other 4 days! I have more energy than I’ve had in years! I am finally happy when I look in the mirror and I can’t wait to see how far I’ll go!
  24. •My knees and ankles hurting every time I work out •being on yo-yo diets •Being the biggest person at any family event or social gathering •Not being able to take a bubble bath bc I couldn’t fit in the tub comfortably •not wanting to take pictures •having to get drunk to feel comfortable in my own skin •not dancing or acting goofy with my friends bc I felt like nobody should have to see that •my back hurting from standing too long •the crying sessions I would have in the dressing room while trying on clothes

    Guilt

I had gastric bypass on 5/14 and as of this morning I have lost 54 pounds! A total of 64 pounds if you include the weight lost before my surgery...my issue is that people are starting to notice and ask questions...I have no regrets for having my surgery nor am I ashamed of the surgery...but when people ask how I lost the weight I freeze and tell them that I’ve been eating healthier and exercising regularly (which is true). But then after the conversation is over I feel guilty for not being 100% honest about how the weight is really coming off. I know this is my business and I don’t owe anyone an explanation, but I’ve always prided myself on my honesty. So this is new territory for me because I feel like I’m lying to people. A few friends, coworkers and close family members know about my surgery. so I feel like with so many people knowing, it’s bound to come out eventually...and I’m nervous to get called out on my lies. I guess what I’m asking is if anyone else has kept their surgery a semi-secret? And if this guilty feeling will go away?
