I'm honestly surprised you're still on soft foods at 6 weeks. I had a progression plan over the six weeks to move me to regular foods and I can eat most anything now (7 weeks) and have been on solid foods since week 4.I'm 6 weeks out from post op and I am still on soft foods, and I am so burnt out and don't know what to eat. I have wasted soooooo much money and food. I cannot eat any tomatoe base anything due to my reflux, eggs sour my tummy as well as avocado
I am so frustrated does anyone have any suggest? Also, what is the process to eating food again. Did you just jump back in, or what was your gradual process to eating regular food again?[emoji17]
I know every surgeon's and nutritionist is different.
I can't do eggs either so I feel ya. I eat a lot of veggies, chicken thighs, fish

I promise it gets better!! Just keep at it, keep walking!y Guys! Im 2 weeks post op and finally in my soft foods phase (YAY!) but I can barely eat 1 oz before I feel sorta wiped out. Also everything I eat or drink gives me gas. I'm only eating what is on the list - tuna, yogurt, applesauce, Premier Protein drinks, Water. Just looking for some suggestions and advice on how you guys navigated this phase. I really want to just EAT! Lol! I literally cant eat till satisfied and it's getting a tad bit frustrating. Any encouragement is welcome!

For soft foods, I loved refried Beans with a little cheese and sour cream. You can Google buffalo chicken puree, that's yummy too. Or ricotta bake. I had trouble with creamy Soups because they went through too quickly and I got the sweats and nauseous but I could do pureed veggie Soup or Tomato Soup.< br>
I'm 7 weeks out and eating normal food. It feels like it will never happen but it does! I promise. (Still can't do chicken breast but love me some chicken thighs!).

Haha I've had grown ass people in my house shoot themselves with Water because they didn't ask what it was lol.Lolol, yes it do! Have to tell you about my grand daughter she is 2 and potty trained, I work from home and was in my office she adventured off into Nana's bathroom and turned on the bidet, my daughter comes home from school and said, "Mom, that toilet thing sprung a leak and wayer is everywhere!" Needless to say, Water was everywhere, so lesson learned to keep it turned on clean nozzle and the bathroom door shut! Lolol
Bet you're glad you have one now with all this toilet paper craziness haha

Yes I get this. It was worse in the beginning but is getting better . I am almost 7 weeks out. For me it definitely happens more when I eat too fast. Or foods too rich. I get sweaty and nauseous and weak and need to sit down. It passes in 30 mins or so. It still happens to be fairly often but not with every meal like it used to. It sucks so I feel ya.Hi everyone I had surgery on 2/6 and are now on solid foods. I really am only eating fish and boiled vegetables though.I noticed for the 2nd day now I’m getting hot like a sweat when eating and still have that feeling now 30 min later.
anyone else experience this?

I mean, I'm not sure there's a less photogenic photo of my face, lol, but this is my six week week progress pic. 25 pounds down from surgery Jan 27 (surgery weight 246, current 221). My clothes are all starting to get loose. But I'm living in leggings and hoodies for now. I don't want to waste money continually buying clothes.

I feel pretty great too! Energy is great. My surgery was 1/27 so I'm six weeks out. I definitely still have a hard time eating slow and definitely can't handle any breads or things. A 39 year habit of scarfing meala down is hard to break haha. And I fricken hate cold food.< br>How is everyone??? Tomorrow makes 9 weeks since surgery (crazy it's gone so fast) for me, and overall I'm feeling fantastic. My bones ache less, I can chase my toddler farther and faster, and I just feel better in my body again! Clothes are getting loose but I'm waiting to make any big purchases until the ones I have look like crap lol.. anyhow, I'm female, 5'6", started pre op diet at 260, surgery weight was 249, and I've made it down to 210 as of yesterday. Can't wait for more of this progress!! Hope everyone is doing well, can't wait to see the new us in a couple more months.

Surgery weight was 246. Today I was 221 so 25 lbs down. I don't seem to be losing as fast as everyone else on her but I am weight training and do eat natural carbs and sugar. I'm okay with a slower loss because I feel the way I eat will be sustainable and healthy long term.
Congrats on your success!

As the people above me have said, everyone's different. I work from home so I only took a couple days. I was also pretty fit and healthy, had no complications, and was cleared for the gym in 2 weeks. I was traveling at 3 weeks. Energy level was definitely lower until calories could catch up around 4 weeks. I'm a mover. I would have lost my mind with too much time. But again, everyone is differentHi all! I’m in the pre-op stages for gastric sleeve - I’m wondering how long your surgeons said your recovery would be? My MD said 2-3 weeks, but I feel like that’s a lot of time... I also realize it’s all dependent on the type of job, etc.
So how long were you told for your recovery / out-of-work restrictions?

Glad you're seeing the surgeon. I'd assume has pains because a leak usually comes with other symptoms like rapid heart rate, fever, etc. But always good to get it checked!I’m Day 8 post-op today for the past few nights I’ve had terrible left shoulder pains. It seems to go away during the day but comes back with a vengeance at night time. It was so bad last night I felt it whilst dreaming and dreamed I was having shoulder surgery. Weird.
I’ve been researching and it seems it could be a gas pain left over or signs of a leak. I have no other gas pains left than this one crampy shoulder and don’t feel terrible like a leak, but how how would I really know if it was a leak? Thankfully I have a follow up today with my surgeon. It hurts so bad!

Everyone different. I was in good shape going into mine, walked and drank like I was supposed to and had very little pain at all, home the next day and no pain in a couple days once the gas pains went away. surgery was an hour and a half or so.How long is the actual surgery for rny? And after how do u feel ?

I had severe GERD. If you have any reflux the risk it will get worse with sleeve is very high. So RNY for me.Wondering which one you chose and why?
And any complication ?

Phase hahaYes and I read the reviews and we di need to keep some dignity! Lolol I had gotten out of the shower and had to poop and toldnmy husband for sake of time I would have gotten back in! Yes the reviews said less toilet paper I have learned to always keep an extra roll handy! I wantedbto get the hot and cold but the way my bathroom is the hot Water line would be across the room so just got the Neo 2 something just under the Neo320! Again thank you for that awesome the more you know! Lolol

I got one when I had an abdominalplasty 5 years ago when wasn't going to be able to turn and wipe myself. And though I appreciate my husband and know that he would be willing to take care of me in any way, I wanted to maintain some dignity. So I looked into this, and we put the attachments on our toilet and it's been a complete lifesaver and a game changer. We use less toilet paper, I am cleaner. I feel fresher no matter what. And what I had surgery and I couldn't turn, all I needed help with was patting dry.Yes, that sounds like a plan! Will check into that right away! Thank you so much!

Omg yumSo it was my turn to make dinner for my family, so I made these salsa verde corn tortillas with home made corn tortillas and salsa verde. My family loved them, and I scooped the chicken out of mine and ate it with the salsa and cheese. I also made cilantro lime rice, corn salsa, and "easy tortilla chips", but didn't indulge inn any of that. Trying new foods is so much fun now!

Get a bidet attachment for your toilet. I literally don't know how people or I lived without one. Best thing for your tush ever.sometimes too many carbs or else sugar alcohols will do that to (some) people (sugar alcohols are artificial sweeteners that end in -itol. Like sorbitol or xylitol)

You really won't at first if you're portioning and eating slowly. This is important to healing so follow the rules. But trust me. As you can eat more and different foods and move past each phase, your body will tell you. And unfortunately sometimes in an unfun way. LolI know this is silly, but I had my surgery March 2nd 2020, so almost a week ago. Since then I have not felt hungry at all. So my question is, if I don’t fee hungry, how can I know when I am full? There’s talk of me being able to start phase 3 Monday and I am afraid of making myself sick because I just can’t tell. Obviously I won’t eat/drink more than a portion, but how do I know if I’m full before I finish that portion?

I walked and walked and sipped and sipped and was home the next afternoon. No complicationsFor those who had Robotic Gastric Bypass, how many days did you stay in the hospital including your surgery date? I was told if all goes well and I am scheduled for the surgery in the AM which I am scheduled for 10:30 am, I will be discharged the next afternoon as long as I am keeping fluids down.

You know what PMS is? Well now you're in its personal hell. Haha. When your body goes through trauma AND when there's a significant weight loss in a short period of time, your hormones go nutballs. It will calm down and even out as the weight loss slows to a more normal weight and your body is like oh okay cool I got this.I'm a little over 3 weeks post op and lately I have been depressed and VERY GROUCHY. I have ZERO energy and all I want to do is sleep. I know it has to be a phase but I sure HOPE it gets over SOON. People that are not going through this don't understand at all. I actually had somebody at work ask me "why are you being such a B*tch lately". She KNOWS that I had surgery. Anyways, I've lost 34 pounds so I'm proud of that. I just needed to vent. Has anybody else experienced this??
I just put myself in time out and went to bed early most nights with a book and a heated blanket.
6 pm? Night night ! Lol

I'm not personally but know many people do. Have you had your labs checked since surgery to make sure your B12 and other levels are good ? I know this can contribute?Anyone else suffering from really low energy and lack of concentration? 7 weeks out
Have you gone back to the gym? What are you doing for exercise?

As usual, every surgeon's recommendation is different and a lot of it will depend on you personally.Generally, How long after surgery can you start pretty easy looking senior fitness classes at the gym?
I was allowed back to gym and lifting weights at my two week appt but I was fairly fit prior to surgery. And had a very easy RNY with no pain or complications.
I would definitely defer to your surgeon as every individual is different.
But hey in the meantime you can walk your tushy off.

Omg the giant horse pills of my Calcium supplements are killing me. I keep gagging. Pre surgery I could take a whole handful of pills in one swig. Now I have to break my pills up to even get them downI have also become intolerant to some foods. I used to love tuna and now it just turns me off. There are several things I can't stomach anymore, including my chewable Multivitamins and Calcium supplements. They make me nauseous now so I have to find something else. Fortunately I can still handle eggs and some other things I like.

Yeah I am not limiting any carbs or sugars but I do not tolerate carbs at all either except vegetablesI also only eat very low calories around 300-500. 500 being a day I ate dense foods. And I will feel uncomfortable I track my moods and feelings also on my food app to track patterns.
But I am going ultra low calories. Since I am not limiting any carbs fat etc. even though my stomach does not accept carbs at all. I throw it up immediately uncontrollably including fruit etc. Yea.... fun stuff.
