Was looking forward to going out and being active today. Made the mistake of putting Carys sf syrup in my thinned cream of wheat. Abort mission ! Abort! Lol. Currently writhing in gas pain. Never bothered me before.... Lesson learned. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. They just mean you'll need six months going forward. Some insurances don't even let you backtrack. Mine did and I have a lot of health issues so had the history already but otherwise you would just need to establish six months with a doctor discussing weight health and diet. Do not get on the scale! You're swollen, pumped full of fluids and air. Let your mind AND body rest and don't weigh yourself for a couple of weeks! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Right. I love the gym and plan to still go for my mental health (yoga, swimming, walking) but I also don't have any false notions that I'll be able to take an hour long body combat class on 600 calories a day. I think everyone is different and the idea to push push push can be counter intuitive to a healing body. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

My post op is pretty similar. I'm day 5 and from. Now until the 9th (three weeks) I'm on liquids, strained soups, thinned cream of wheat, protein shakes. On the 9th which is three weeks, I can start soft foods. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    25.2 operation scared

The best advice I have, is to go into your surgery super duper hydrated, like drink over a gallon a day before. And do your walking as soon as you can. It helps move the gas and helps the muscles heal. Don't be a hero and take the pain meds if you need, but make sure you stay hydrated. That's paramount to everything else. It's really not scary, you'll do great! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

for what it's worth, all the research says that you really shouldn't be exercising until 6 months out because you're not consuming enough calories to make your workouts worth it. You're just depleting your body. My surgeon only recommends walking swimming and biking Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Today 5 days PO and moved onto full liquids, which means I can have strain soups and make my protein creamy. So far so good. On this until the 9th when I get to switch to soft foods. My stomach is definitely a little tighter after introducing the different consistency, but no real nausea or discomfort so slow and steady wins the race. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    Hurt

I had the RNY and it doesn't hurt inside. The incisions are tender and the gas sucks and if you drink too much it hurts but I honestly felt little pain. Best advice: walk as soon as you can and as often as you can. It helps a lot. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I didn't feel any restriction the first day but the second and third were rough. Just go easy and aim for 4-6 ounces an hour with slow sips! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I had RNY but I heard that hiccups were a sign you were full. It has to do with the nerve near your stomach Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    What was your worst day?

Thanks! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  17. Had RNY Monday morning. Was doing well enough to head home Tuesday afternoon. Sipped as much as I could but it's like as soon as it hits my stomach I need to burp to make it go down. It's slightly painful but overall not terrible. The incision pain is annoying at best. I feel super sluggish today on day 3 and I know that's to be expected but when does the pain of swallowing stop into the belly or the burping to get it down? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

That's good to know. I know there's a rainbow at the end of the tunnel just need to get there. I'm just thankful the pain in minimal and I got decent sleep in my own bed . Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yeah I've been on PPIs for years now which was my main motivation for this surgery. I'm still taking them for now. I think it's just hard to know how much I can fit in my tiny pouch. I'm waking around the block twice every hour and although it took me two and a half hours I got my protein drink down. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Day 3 post rny is a bit of a struggle. I have no energy and though the pain is still quite minimal, every time I swallow water I feel like I have to burp to push it down. Logically I know it's only been two full days and there is probably so much inflammation to work through. I'm still walking and sipping. Just not the best day so far. I'm a stubborn ass so was waking 1,000 steps every hour or so. There was a lap in my ward that I counted out as 250 steps so I would do five. And I sipped almost constantly. I did go into the surgery in relatively good shape and have a very high pain threshold. Everyone is different! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

RNY yesterday. I'm home in my own bed tonight with no nurses (albeit wonderful ones) waking me up every 4 minutes. My pain level is very low and hoping the uncomfortable gas dissipates by tomorrow! So far so good ! One more day of clear liquids and then I can start on my purees!
