    January 2020 Surgery Folks

Last few days: Breakfast: 1 egg with half slice American cheese Lunch: 1 oz refried beans with sprinkle cheddar cheese, 1 oz avocado, 1 ounce sour cream Dinner: eggdrop soup with protein/collagen powder Breakfast: 4 oz cottage cheese with pureed pineapple Lunch: mashed cauliflower and parsnips (so much better than potatoes! So yummy!) Dinner: buffalo chicken dip Breakfast: 3 oz yogurt, 2 baby food (apple peach spinach pouch) Lunch: string cheese and applesauce Dinner: pureed lobster bisque (was so good I ate it too fast and got the sweats lol) Breakfast: 1/2 banana with 1 tbsp peanut butter Lunch: Yes! Brand soup (cauliflower and roasted potato) Dinner: refried bean plate as above. I've only been on purees/soft foods for four days so that's the basic run down. But I'm satisfied and happy! I don't snack in between right now because I was doing poorly on my fluids and it helps to have more time in between to drink more fluids. I hate protein shakes so viscerally much, I bought Genepro and have been just mixing that in my fresh iced tea. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    January 2020 Surgery Folks

Just had my two week post op follow up and am doing great. Down 20 lbs since my first visit and 14 since surgery. Surgeon cleared me for machines at the gym as long as I can hit 400-500 calories a day. Any less than that and I'm doing myself a disservice. Still a couple months away from intense workouts like kickboxing and body combat. He called me one of the easy ones. I'm excited to get to the gym tonight! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I believe it will at first. I'm two weeks out and just starting to feel more energy. As you can consume more calories and as you heal, energy comes back. But if you don't have any energy to begin with, I honestly don't know how you'll do. As the weight comes off and you can do more things you may find it comes back. Good luck to you! Yeah 2 weeks out and it was on my plan so I tried it and had no issues ! I keep worrying the next thing I eat will be "the thing" I can't eat but so far so good. Even had a lick of peanut butter today! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I dont think there's much harm in extending your liquid diet if your happy and healing well! But I will say this, eating purees and such has helped me feel more more energetic and human. The extra calories are helpful. Also, I only get about 30 g of protein from food which based on a 400 calorie diet is about right. It will go up as I can eat more at one sitting etc. I can't stomach most protein shakes and avoid them like the plague but I do have them if needed. This guy breaks protein down quite well. Ugh sorry you're still having pain. I had RNY and felt no pain after a few days. But I did hear someone who was sleeved say that one incision was harder and longer to heal because that's the one they pulled the excess stomach through. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Hi all! RNY on 1/27 for gastroparesis and feed and bile reflux. Had a scrambled egg with a little cheese this morning and was scared bc so many people say they have issues with eggs but I had no issues! Except u get so thirsty when I eat so it's so hard for me not to grab a swig of water ! Glad to see everyone here! Have my two week post op on Tuesday and hope cleared for slight weight machines at the gym because I feel like a pile of goo! Haha I used to go to a kickboxing and CrossFit gym and know I won't be in any shape to do that for a few months but miss the feeling of not being tired and mushy haha Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Oh also, the entire reason I had this surgery was bc I have (had?) gastroparesis and severe GERD and bile reflux. I am overweight but in otherwise good health and fit and active. My weight didn't bother me. (I mean I'm not mad at the loss lol) If I was going for weightloss I can see the benefit of the sleeve. I just didn't have a choice. My bariatric center was an accredited center of excellence too and my surgeon top rated. I really liked him! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yeah it basically goes right through with mine I think! I haven't had any real bad food issues except when I was stupid enough to use suagr free syrup with sugar alcohols. I died. Lol. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Even liquids you can't do more than an ounce ? I can drink 4-6 ounces of soup no prob. Same with yogurt or something similar. Purees and thicker things are less and take longer but I can definitely have more than an ounce. I had RNY Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

So I tried the buffalo chicken puree and it's amazing! All I did was use one can of chicken, a spoonful of sour cream, a spoonful of Mayo, a good pouring of Frank's red hot, a shakeful of crumbled blue cheese and a little ranch dressing. Feel free to sub out for yogurt or low fat versions. I put everything in a food processor and blended the crap outta it. It's so good ! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

My husband loves chicken thighs so it won't be hard to get him to cook that for me! I cant even start chunks of meat or anything like that till after my soft foods phase which is the 24th-1st. So I guess 6 weeks out ? Ugh. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

That looks great! Can't wait to eat more consistency. I tried avocado for lunch and it was awesome! Had egg drop soup tonight. Trying to warm my stomach up to eggs before actually trying them! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
