HW 253 SW 246 CW 228 GW 170ish maybe? I've always been curvy and thick and happy with that as long as I was fit and since I had the surgery for gastroparesis and GERD I never really thought about this.. hmmm. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

So far so good! I made it a huge point to hydrate the crap outta myself and feel good energy wise. I carry around one of those Gatorade squirt bottles and it's made a HUGE difference in getting in my fluids. It seems stupid but when you have to open your water bottle every 35 seconds to take a sip it comes to pain in the ass when you're out and about. But if you have the square bottle I just took it out and would take little squirts all throughout the day. I also had a p3 pack with turkey and cheddar (husband ate the nuts) in the car ride so I'd have energy to walk the museum - hit 10k steps today already. Kids wanted rainforest Cafe for lunch so this was my first time eating out since surgery and still on soft foods. They had an ahi poke tower on the app menu which was ahi, avocado tomato with wonton chips and a small salad. I ate the avocado and ahi and it was perfect! Probably around 3 ounces total and I felt full but not overly so. Tomorrow is Medieval times and I'm sure my husband will be eating most of my meal haha but if I remember correctly they do have soup so I'll have something. I also have been carrying around those Justin's nut butter packets so I always have access to protein if I need it. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    Mix collagen into protein shakes?

I use the Vital protein and collagen. It's 9g of protein plus collagen. I get the unflavored kind and put it in my tea. No taste. I'm only three weeks out so can't tell you if it works or not but I figure it can't hurt. I also take biotin and no vitamins daily and use biotin shampoo and conditioner. Just trying by best here. Lol. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yaya you! I lost 14 since surgery and then hiy the dreaded 6 week stall! Not worried, just plugging away. Today we leave for 2 days to Chicago (driving distance) with the kids. I packed an entire lunch box of foods for myself but this is gonna be a true test of my energy hahaha ! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Same day surgery but I had RNY! I'm on soft foods now and life is so good EXCEPT I am having a much harder time hydrating when I eat real food since we can't eat after. I was really tired and lethargic today and decided to just go full liquids to get my energy back up and it worked wonders ! I only threw up once and it was deli turkey that I ate way too fast so I feel ya there! I do have some of what I call "food sweats" if I eat too fast or too rich (had a bisque the other day woowweee) but that passes after 10-15 minutes and then I'm fine and it helps me learn a lesson. So far my best friends are: refried beans with cheese and sour cream, a small spoonful of peanut butter (great way to get calories and protein up) and banana, blended veggie soups, and my morning green smoothie. None of that has bothered me at all! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I have a fruit smoothie almost every morning. Handful of spinach, frozen tropical fruit, almond milk, half a banana or avocado and a scoop of Genepro. It's the only way I can get liquid protein in. I follow dr v. Recipe Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yeah that happened to me too! It's bc we have to wait the 30 mins before and after we eat, so if you're eating frequent small portions, that time adds up! The window is just smaller Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Today I had my first oops! I was trying to get my daughter out of the house for volleyball practice and we were all chatting and running around, you know, family dinner chaos, and I shoved a piece of deli meat in my mouth and swallowed it without even thinking about chewing well. I feel so good most days (other than being tired) that I literally forgot I had to eat slow. You know what reminded me? The vomit that followed. The food felt stuck and usually I can burp through that feeling but not this time. It came right back. That'll show me. Lol Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I was back three days after surgery but work from home so it was so nice to be able to go at my own pace. I moved my office to the couch haha! And honestly working kept my mind busy! Rest as much as you can when you can and heal up! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    Not enough weight for surgery

I only had surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. I'm down 20 pounds. I had zero complications and very little to no pain. Was home the next afternoon and walking a ton. I feel great. Just saw the surgeon and my PCP and am already off four medications. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I have to take two calcium twice a day but can't take them within two hours of my iron. Need to take the chewable multivitamin 2 a day. Vitamin d once a week, b12 and biotin are sublingual. It's like a full time job keeping track of all of it ! Haha Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. So I have UHC but through a different company obviously. I worked with a Bariatric Center of Excellence where I live. I need 6 months of consecutive doctor visits where I was weighed and we discussed my weight and health concerns. for me, this was not difficult because I was suffering from severe stomach issues, including gastroparesis, which is why I was recommended for the surgery in the first place. I had also had consecutive visits with a endocrinologist for my PCOS. They did not require the 6 months to be from the date of, but could also be backtracked. In your case since you may not have this history, you may need to start from the beginning. But 6 months is not bad and it goes very quickly trust me. UHC also required three consecutive months of visiting with the nutritionist. This can be done in tandem I believe with the 6 months of doctor visits. You need to show that you can change your habits and lose weight during this time with the nutritionist. they also require that you meet with a psychologist to evaluate if you're mentally healthy enough for this surgery and the life changes it will bring. I did have to deal with Optum as well on their side, and never had an issue. I had to speak with a nurse for a few months and she would keep up on where I was, let me know where the process was on their end, and they did some follow-up post surgery. I really had no problem with them at all. They were very nice. All in all my process was very smooth, I had no issues getting approved, and it went quickly. I am not sure if part of that was because of how well the bariatric center was run, but I am very pleased with both United healthcare and my center. I did have to pay some out of pocket for vitamins and some hospital copay, but it was under $500. I hope this answers your question as best as I can, I realize that the insurance coverage may be different depending on the company and the program. But if you have any other questions let me know. Protein Drinks Isopure

Although I really did like the iced tea flavor. They're okay with Water but any of the creamy flavors I tried mixing with almond milk or something and I die. I think it's just so heavy or something when I do that. Stick with the water Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
