I had been having hair falling out pretty bad in Oct and Nov. I started taking biotin and using a fortifying treatment and have noticed a HUGE difference. I still lose more than I used to, but its getting better. So I definitely suggest the biotin. it helped with my nails too.

This thread is hilarious!!! I just sat here and read the whole thing! My confession: I called in to work today because I have a tiny sniffle, and just wanted the whole week off. I work at an elementary school, so I get sick really easy. It is my first year and I have been catching EVERYTHING! Second Confession: I weigh myself 3-5 times a day.

My gaol was high too, as I was just banded in July, and had yet to get restriction. This has been a great way to keep track of progress though, so I'm not going to change it but do better next time. My nails are terrible too and just peel apart. I have been taking biotin, maybe I should up my calcium though. My hair is much better since I started the biotin though.

I was banded abt 5 months ago, and I get REALLY tight a few days before, and then during and a few days after my period. It SUCKS!!! The one time I actually want to cheat and have a ton of chocolate, I can't(but I guess that is the point of the band huh? lol) I was so tight this last time that I was actually getting stuck on water in the middle of the night. But my body is adjusting to the fills. So you are not alone!

Sorry to hear about your gallbladder problems. Good luck getting it out, and the tumors too!!

interpretasl~ I was reading your story, and it is very inspirational. I just wanted to share how grateful I am for the blessing of this band. My parents were given a blessing of a big bonus, and they passed the blessing on to me, and payed for my surgery. I have already seen so many improvements on my physical, mental, and spiritual life. The Lord has truly poured out the blessings this year.

So, I really think that DH and I got food poisoning at his work party on Friday. Idk what it was, but we were both nauseated and had..ahem...other issues all weekend:blushing:. The nausea has gone away, but I am still feeling icky. I just hope it doesn't stop my loss. I am actually wishing that it would speed it along

I have problems with pills getting stuck, unless they are small gelcaps, or very small pills. I had a cold pill get stuck once, and I refuse to take them again. If I really need something, I crush it, or cut it into very small bits Dr.K didn't mention anything about pills at me at all. The only warnings I got were here.

Well, I think I have hit my sweet spot ladies! I am down 2.5 this week!! So from when I got my fill on the 13th Nov (Tom said I would be abt 283 without clothes) to now I have lost 10 lbs!! That is the kind of loss I want to keep up!

CONGRATZ on being at 299!!!! That is awesome, and 85lbs is AMAZING!!

So I finally hit 35 pounds down today!! This is slow but steady, so I won't complain today. Gotta love the band!

My name is Marie. Age 24, highest weight 309. Surgery weight 303, current 274. Height 5ft 6in. Reason: General health and I haven't been able to get pregnant. DH and I have been married (using no protection) for 2 years. I know that weight can cause infertility issue. Hopefully at my year anniversary we can start trying and I will get pregnant. I believed the band would be right for me because it would make me change my habits. I am so happy with the results so far. I am also learning to deal with the physical/mental/emotional issues, and that is a huge step.

OH MY GOSH!!!! I had the EXACT same thing happen to me this week. I was filling out a card for a costco membership and writing down my DL# when I glanced down at the weight I put a year ago. 275. I was so excited to find out that I'm not lying about it anymore! Such a great feeling!

Isn't that annoying?! I lived in Kansas City, MO several years ago, and I'm pretty sure that at a youth conference we did a service project at the Liberty Stake Center.

I have lost the same amount that you have, and also feel discouraged because it is so slow. Congrats on the 3.5 though, at least it's better than nothing.

I am SO MUCH HAPPIER!! Like many of the others said, you see more problems on here than success stories. I have been banded for 4 1/2 months. I get the stuck feeling sometimes, but I have only thrown up once(because I didn't chew enough). Most people do not throw up constantly. I suggest you get another fill. You seem to have waited a very long time in between. I have seen people who it takes them a year or so to get to their sweet spot. You need to get fills in order to find it. If you feel no restriction, go get a fill. Just make sure that if you do start to throw up frequently, that you tell your doc and get a slight unfill. Talk with your doctor. This will take a lot of communication.

I am down 2 for the challenge this week. I know it is good, but the scale hasn't budged for 3 days. I just wish it would at least go down a little every day. It is discouraging when it doesn't.

He is a lot cheaper, but a GREAT doctor! I actually go back to him for fills, It is cheaper than getting them here, everyone wants hundreds of dollars for a few drops of saline. So I pay $150 for a plane ticket, and then $15 for fills at Dr.K's office. LOVE IT!!! Don't know if a plane ticket would be as cheap for you guys in Georgia. But definitely call around you and ask how much fills would be. Make sure to get it in writing though, because I had a bad experience with the office telling me one thing and getting a big unexpected bill. So, it might be more cost effective to go to Denver, unless the fills out there would be cheaper. Good luck to your DH, and Congratz on your great weight loss! So close to goal!
