  1. Congrats! 135 in 5.5 months is amazing! Enjoy working out in your new trim body!
  2. Well, I'll get to learn from both of you! After two weeks of purees starting on the 14th, I'll start soft foods on the 22nd. I know ya'll will do great!
  3. I can't wait to hear how it goes tomorrow for you. 1/4 cup does sound sooooo tiny. I won't even start purees until Feb. 14th. This makes me nervous because I have to go back to work Feb. 17 before I even start on soft foods!
  4. Yes, it absolutely makes sense to me, and his views are almost identical to my family doctor's!
  5. Thank ya'll so much for posting your meal plans! It is very helpful. Mine doesn't seem as detailed.
  6. Thank you. That makes me feel better.
  7. Ahhh, dang, Wolf! Hope it's a mild one that you can get over very quickly.
  8. Hi there! Glad you stopped in to introduce yourself. I hope you get to move on to purees tomorrow. I had mine on the 27th, but I don't move on to purees until day 18, so I'm still on full liquids. I'm still amazed the protocols are so different, depending on the surgeon.
  9. He Ashleigh! So glad you are doing well. I had my gastric sleeve on Jan. 27th, so very close to do the same time. Yes, we can do it!
  10. Uh oh, that scares me! It's been so nice not being hungry. How often will you see your doctor? Since my surgery was in Mexcico, my family doc is handling aftercare. I saw her Monday, one week post-op, then labs every 3 months.
  11. I'm not hungry at all, but when I eat (actually just drink now) I'm just not feeling the intense restriction most people feel.
  12. I'm 8 days post surgery, on my 4th day of full liquids and I'm averaging 66 g of protein, and 488 calories, no problem getting down 64 oz of water a day, and sometimes a bit more. It sounds like a lot when I read about the difficulty many are having getting in their fluids and protein. I have to sip, not gulp, but really, that's the only restriction. I'm worried that I'm already consuming too much!
  13. WOW, 14 lbs! That is wonderful! You go girl! I'm down 10 lbs in 8 days, but not complaining.
  14. Glad to hear you are felling better today! Hopefully, the worst is over.
  15. Look at you!!! You are rockin' it! I can see the difference already. Congrats!
  16. Ugh! I am so sorry you are dealing with a terrible cold and your family doc is being a jerk. That comment was uncalled for, but don't let it scare you or bring you down. Where i live, there has been some junk going around, not the flu, but a very nasty virus, and it's taking people a few weeks to get over the mess! I found this article from a place in Salt Lake about cold medications for bariatric patients: https://utahbariatrics.com/cold-and-flu-season-after-weight-loss-surgery/ Hope you feel better soon, hon!
  17. Yay! That's only one month away, so yes, the countdown has begun. So happy for you!
  18. Here are mine. They don't look as pretty! I had staples instead of glue because the MX surgeon said the glue was not conducive for use in the high humidity. ???
  19. Woo hoo! Not gross at all, looks like you are healing very well and your face already looks thinner. Congrats!
  20. Woo hoo! Not gross at all, looks like you are healing very well and your face already looks thinner. Congrats!
  21. I'm also had surgery on the 27th, VSG. I completely understand how you are feeling. I've had no issues, but I've already tired of the protein shakes, broth and jello. I've had no problem getting in my fluids, or getting enough protein, just want something different and more substantial. I remembered I had some organic creamy tomato soup made by Pacific, and a cup of that hit the spot! For some reason the tomato soup seemed more substantial. Maybe try that, or maybe some bone broth. Hang in there!
  22. So glad to hear your hemoglobin is rising. You are on the mend!
  23. I read about your doctor. It sounds like you are going to one of the top bariatric surgeons in Mexico! You are doing to do great! ?
