    How's the wardrobe?

Today was chilly enough that I had to put on jeans. The 24s looked silly but thats all I have right now so I went and got a belt with the last of a gift card I had. I have a feeling the belt I bought will really come in handy these next few weeks!

    I'm ready for a fill...

I've found myself so hungry lately. Just one day it hit me, I'm starving! I'm really working on will power this last 2 weeks. I'm down to 220, lower than my last weight watchers weight. So for that I'm happy. But I'm no longer loosing either. I scheduled my first fill. And I'm glad I called because they couldn't get me in for a week and a half. So reminder to self : call right away. I just called to confirm, and they still don't have an exact time for me to come in and they won't even have one till wednesday or thursday of t his week. I'm off that day, so any time will do, just as long as I get one. I'm still mulling over joining the gym in my area. I'm still undecided at this point. My next weight loss goal is 199. So, 21 more pounds to loose!

HELP!!! Losing those last 20 pounds...

Being only 2 months banded I can't really say much. But here's an idea. What about back to lapband basics? Making sure your getting all your liquids and doing some days of liquids only (aka, protein shakes). Just an idea.
  7. Being honest with myself by keeping a food journal on thedailyplate.com has made all the difference in the world. I hate to food journal and keeping one online that gives me all the breakdowns has made it super easy. And it's free to use the site. I hated the idea of a food journal before but being able to search for the food I ate and not having to write it all down myself has made it super easy to keep up with. I'm glad I got over my fear. It's a FACT that people that keep a food journal vs. people that do not loose twice as much weight.
  8. My surgeon said no caffeine for 6 months. Something about he stomach healing.

    HELP - I'm getting complacent!

Wow, your so close to your goal! Only 22 pounds left to go? Only you know whats best for you. You went through a surgery for this, others who have not had it can't understand that and know whats best for you.
  10. I would hate to be desperate and have to do this move in a public restroom! :tt2:
  11. I took a month off because I work a physical labor job where I'm required to lift patients at a hospital on occasion (same story as the post a few above me). I wasn't going to take any chances. If I worked a desk job, I could have easily gone back after a week at most. No light duty offered at my job. I don't regret taking the month off with out pay.

    No pasta..?????

I have a 10cc band and no fills. I cannot tolerate soft bread, pasta, and rice. I also can't tolerate lettuce and dry meats (chicken breasts are out). Don't ask me why, but I can't.

    Chewing Gum?

I asked this to my surgeon because I wanted the real answer. Besides air brought into the pouch, you could accidentally swallow it and cause a blockage. He said he's had to open up a few to get it out.

    Hair Loss

Try adding a Biotin supplement (vitamin pills) and using a Biotin shampoo. Jason (thats the brand name) makes one and it can be found at health food stores. I bought mine at vitamin world. They make a biotin shampoo and conditioner that was recommended to me by another lap bander.
  22. I come here daily. Thats a big motivator. It helps keep me focused. Also I keep a food journal (I use thedailyplate.com) they say people that log their food consumption loose 50% more weight than those who don't. I really hate to food journal, but it makes all the difference.

    Nobody noticing weight loss

I had a friend tell me that she didn't mention my weight loss because she didn't want to point me out and make me embarrassed. I guess I understood that.

Some advice please (nice advise would be nice)

I understand where your coming from. But this feeling will pass. I had a melt down bad one night when my family ate pizza with friends and blocked up the kitchen with it and I couldn't get to my diet food. That was probably my lowest point. I'm 6 weeks post opt, down 33 pounds, and so far from that now I could care less if they did it right now. You'll move on from this feeling. Promise.
  25. And remember if you choose Mexico, make sure you know someone local to you that will agree to do your fills/unfills if needed. I think that really helps Mexico banded patients.
