BLAH. Is it normal for plateaus with the band?? I'm stuck at 226 the entire week. Kristin

1. I want to finish law school and be able to get a good job in Dallas, and not worry about my weight keeping me from getting a good job. As much as many people don't want to admit it, there are a lot of people who frown upon hiring fat employees. Maybe even more so with female lawyers, we're all supposed to be a cute size 6. lol. 2. I'm 7 lbs away from my 1/2 way point!! 3. Be at least 199 lb when school starts in the fall. I have 27 lbs to lose by August 24th. I think I can get there. :cake: Kristin

Oh GOOD GOD! "Your beautiful baby girl will weigh about 7 lbs, 1 oz and have black hair and blue eyes." The Father is: Dick Cheney This must have occurred while you were in a coma or otherwise unconscious, like at a frat party. We can't think of any other likely way. Note that the baby was completely Asian-looking. HOWEVER, she wasn't holding a hunting rifle. LMAO! Thanks for the laugh! :cake: Kristin

Dude. That's just rude. I hate STUPID skinny people. The one time I had someone at work ask me something similar, the next day I came back and said, "oh is that a new base (foundation) that you've been using?" And she said "yes! I just got it this weekend!" I replied, "Oh it looks great! It really helps to hide the acne scars." She shut up after that. CONGRATS on the weight loss, no conditions added. :cake: Kristin

The only really funny one we have is one that almost instantly gets us over being mad at one another. I'll ask him if he's on the "pouty potty" cuz when we first started dating he was a big pouter. Now he just laughs and gets over it when I say that. Other than that, we do the same stuff you and your husband do FunnyDuddies, we're pretty much loving a$$holes to each other. It keeps things more interesting...since we're not exactly mushie kinda people. Cute thread, I've loved reading all these. And my fiance makes fun of those WOW people (he's also a computer nerd, just not online gaming) he calls them all "barclock37" and then does this shhhrep sound like a kid with bad braces. lol :cake: Kristin

DFW dinners in June (and 1 in May)
legallyKristin replied to JanetC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, you guys look like you had a lot of fun! I can't wait until I finish school and get to move to Dallas!! There's not really any band support activities in San Antonio, and Dallas is more fun anyway!! :cake: Ya'll are all looking great! Keep up the good work! :cake: Kristin -
I LOVE the Light Carmel Frappucciono!! However, after being banded (and properly filled) I'm usually able to only drink about 1/4 of a small one before I'm "satisfied." Other than that, I can drink almost an entire small Cafe Latte w/skim milk and sugar free vanilla syrup. :cake: Yah for starbucks!! OOOHH! And if you like those starbucks frappuccinos that you can buy in the convenience stations, you should check out the AchievOne Cappuccino Protein drinks. They come in the same kind of bottle and they are Fat Free, low carb and only 120 calories for an entire bottle with 20 grams of protein! I have one every morning for Breakfast instead of going through starbucks! You can get them at www.bariatriceating.com :cake: Kristin

Plane Tickets- did you have to buy two
legallyKristin replied to sarabluebell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've never had to buy 2 seats and I was almost 300 lbs at one time. However, if they told you that you had to buy 2 seats, it may be cheaper to get a 1st class ticket? I know that the 1st class seats are larger. Just a thought! :cake: Kristin -
Hey Lins! Welcome! I'm really close to you! I'm 24 and I live in San Antonio and am in my 2nd year of law school. Very cool! 40 lbs is great! Since you didn't have as much as some of us to lose, from what I read it generally does go slower. Congrats on the weight loss and welcome to GFG! :cake: Kristin

BandedMama- You're one step ahead of the game. You know that the problem isn't because of your band, but rather because of your choices in eating. That's a big plus in the game. Maybe this is a heads up that there are still some head hunger issues that need to be tackled, and the only way to tackle them is to first admit them. So you're heading in the right direction!! Hang in there and don't give up! Kristin

Sounds just like what I did on Adkins for 2 years. I got close to goal weight (also using the phentermine) and then as soon as I started trying to eat "healthy" introducing good carbs back into my diet, I gained it back because my body was starving for things like milk. I just can't do another "diet" like that anymore. I'm sticking to organic/whole foods but I still do watch for foods that don't have sugar in them. That's about as close to that doc's diet as I could get. ALTHOUGH, I wish I could get the script for the Phentermine again. My house was never so clean!! Thanks for sharing Diane! Kristin

I looked up those Steaz and it kinda sounded to me like they were carbonated. Are they?? Also, FunnyDuddies- I wonder if those might be available online somewhere. I really miss my diet cream soda and that vanilla cream sounds like it might be a good alternative. Also, the ginger ale might be a good mixer for alcoholic drinks. Thanks for the info guys! I used to LOVE trying all the new sodas that came out. Kristin

Yah for P'Nut!! Thanks for being a great motivator! You're the best! Kristin

Wow! I'm excited, I'll have to call my doc tomorrow!! Thanks so much!! Kristin
-
Uhh. Thank God I didn't have to have it. I probably would have skipped the band all together if I'd have had to have a colonoscopy. YUK! And I've never heard of anyone else having to have it for the band. Kristin

10 Month Post opp and stuck, (pics)
legallyKristin replied to kimmcneely's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good God! You are gorgeous! You look so healthy in your most recent pic. And all that in 10 months!?!? WOW! You may be stuck at this weight for awhile, but if you keep exercising and sticking to good food choices, your body will have no choice but to go the way you want it to go. Don't give up, I know that a lot of us here would be happy to be the size you are now, but none of that really matters if you're not happy. Keep up the good work, and I'm sure that you'll get there in no time! Kristin -
Thank you for asking that, I'm 10 weeks out too and my port has really started to have pain as well. I know that Old Navy makes an ultra-low rise jean that goes up to a size 20. I'll have to go jean shopping this weekend. Thanks!! Kristin

C 226 (-72 total, -4 this week!) WOOHOO!! And congrats on that 8 lb Funny!! That's awesome!! Kristin

Barb, if you don't mind...what kind of insurance do you have? BCBS TX also has that exclusion, so maybe that will help me. Kristin

Those are great ideas Wheetsin! Thanks so much! I really like the ebay idea for some of the clothes with tags still on, as new clothes seem to be getting expensive. But worth every penny!! Kristin
-
Congrats on the "BAD" NSV!! Look at it as an opportunity to have a "GOOD" NSV when you get to go shopping for new clothes! I LOVE SHOPPING!------ Which is evidenced by my massive amount of "old" clothes piling up around the house like Magsi. Any other ideas on what to do with those "old" clothes?? I have about 6 leaf bags of sizes 24-20 of clothes, some still with tags on them. I don't really know anyone that would wear that size. And I don't want to keep them because I feel like that would be a safety net for me, allowing me to hang on to them if I gain weight back. Kristin

Congrats on the 199 Telly! That's awesome. I've been swamped lately, so I just thought I would stop by and say hi! Kristin

They are very filling to me and a definate easy, manageable, non-icky way to get in 25 g of protein! www.fitnessfirstusa.com is where I got mine and they were pretty cheap there. I think if you use my name you'll get a discount? kristin lee -
