  1. I had normal energy, was able to drink all my fluids and protein shakes. Took dog for walk every day. Never really felt hungry but sometimes gurgling in stomach can feel like growling stomach from hunger but it's not. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Had first puree yesterday. Canned tuna with a little lite mayo and whipped it up food processor. Went down easy without any issues but definitely felt the restriction for first time. Plan to try egg salad, sardines, canned chicken, and avocado instead of mayo and ricotto bake. Will continue with protein shakes to get in all my protein. After weeks just liquids, this will be great change. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. 4. Thrilled to have lost enough weight that I can now avoid incontinence issues. Haven't had accident in over a week. A new life for sure. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. CDIFF is cured in 90% of patients with fecal transplant. Interesting case in UK. A woman with serious CDIFF and close to dying. They suggested fecal transplant and that results were better if came from close relative. It saved her life but she quickly started gaining weight. Her cousin donor was obese and the transplant transferred some bacteria that was associated with obesity. So now doing better job a pre-screening donors. Most of serotonin used by the brain is made in the gut. That may explain why depression after WLS is common. Less serotonin being made and available to the brain. 6. My fermenting veggies Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. I started home fermentation of veggies, a wonderful source of Probiotics. I have 2 jars of baby dill pickles, one jar of ginger carrot sticks, one jar of okra and one jar of Italian Giardeneia bubbling on kitchen counter. Can't wait to make sauerkraut. Can't eat any of these yet because won't be on normal foods for 4 more weeks but can save them in fridge to enjoy then. One serving of fermented veggies has 100x probiotics than an entire bottle of expensive probiotics. And a jar of home fermented veggies make great gifts. 8. Has your dietician approved pea protein shakes? Pea protein is inferior protein. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Postop diet is specifically to allow stomach to heal. Your ptotein shake is your most important food right now. Avoid vegetable juice right now. Has fiber which can get caught in staples. I am sticking to protein shakes sweetened with monk fruit and stevia. A little Sucralose at this point doesn't bother me. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Surgeon said drinking fluids should be easy for most. The problems start cropping up as increase from puree to soft to normal food. That is when chewing food a lot becomes really important. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Most surgeons say any pill up to size of regular M&M can be swallowed. Not many meds that large. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I have been able to swallow all my meds and nonchewable vitamins/supplements from day after surgery with no problems. I bought a pill crusher before surgery but never needed it. Everyone is different but not everyone have problems swallowing pills postop. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. You also should have cholesterol checked. There are documented cases of people developing starvation-induced high cholesterol after high weight loss. Your symptoms correlate closely to what you describe. "A 25-y-old policeman who had sleeve gastrectomy for morbid obesity 10 mo previously presented with generalized weakness, constipation, and significant weight loss after severe dietary restriction." All of his bariatric lab had been normal. 14. I know everyone loses weight in breasts requiring smaller bra sizes. My breasts are already quite pedulous (droopy). After WLS, if breasts get to floppy, do any of you wear sports bra or other support at night? Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Yogurt only has CFU in millions. Need CFU in trillions to do any good. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I bought Renpho smart scale from Amazon after I saw your data. Used first time today. Amazing info I can follow throughout my WL journey. It said my metabolic age was 74[emoji33] and I'm 67. See how that changes. My BMI is 38 down from 44. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Have postop visit Monday so can ask him. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I just started full liquids and protein shakes have more calories than protein water. I did 450 calories today. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I decided I will lactic acid ferment raw veggies all summer in mason jars. Same nutrition as raw plus get Lactobacillus and easier to digest. pickles, kimchi, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes, almost any raw veggie. No canning. Just add sea salt brine and keep veggies in anaerobic state during fermentation. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. My favorite is Fairlife Nutrition. chocolate taste just like chocolate milk. 30g Protein, 2g fat, 2g carbs. 150 calories That's premade. I use ISOPURE unflavored 25g protein per scoop. Whey Isolate Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Thanks. I was getting worried. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I was very disappointed with READY Protein Water. Taste was awful to me. I returned two cases to Sam's Club. Still have 9 bottles in fridge. Will probably dump it. The Blueberry was the worst. I also don't like having to drink 16.9 oz to get just 15g protein. So bust for me.
  23. Microbiome affects everything. It will be years before they figure things out. Stanford Univ did fecal transplants on 19 kid on autism spectrum. 40% reduction in nervous behavioral symptoms for two months. I want to start a probiotic specifically for chronic constiptation. Research studies shows specific strains of bacteria greatly improved constiptation in elderly in nursing home. But cannot get reliable source. Probiotics are like Vitamins and supplements, not regulated by FDC. So you have no idea if the probiotic you buy is even alive, what it claims to be and even effective. ACTIVIA didn't help at all.
