    Under 25 and choosing this?!

This and so much more of this. Also around the same age and wish I had the courage in me to accept diet and exercising simply wasn't enough and I needed another tool. I wish even if not in my 20s, wish I could have gotten it done even 5 years back when the thought crossed my mind. So, similar to many here, I would say "go with your gut instinct" and trust your decision to take control of your life when you still have so much to live for. Losing out on many youthful experiences owing to your weight only brings out regret when you reach a certain age. Wish you all the best for your upcoming surgery if you decide to go for it.

    Food Before and After Photos

Yeh I read there needs to be proper rinsing and cooking technique so it doesn't smell too horrid. I'll wait for others to post their experience and how they prepped for it.

    Food Before and After Photos

Has anyone tried *Konjac noodles*? I just came across these Japanese noodles that are extremely low in carbs and calories. Can fit perfectly in our lifestyle when we crave noodles. Not sure if anyone has posted any pics here or had a discussion around it.

    Crossed the “Normal BMI” border

    Hey congrats. Looking great! 👍🏻
  6. Took me about 2 months more or less I would say to feel normal again with my daily routine.

4 months out and stalled all month!

I think you should continue sticking to your diet plan. Stalls do happen and at times quite irritating especially in the first 6 months when you expect your weight to fly away. I have had slow losing months every other month since the surgery. I stalled about 3 weeks or so too around month 5 where I barely lost 4 or 5 pounds that month. But then weight continued to fly the next month. So, it'll happen as long as you stick to your diet routine. Hope you break the stall soon.

    Loose skin vs. abdominal fat

32.5 sounds so much better than 37 😭😭 I am about 29 BMI too. But my waist is still big, about 37 inches. I stored majority of my fat abdominally, so I reckon it'll take forever for fat to dissolve down there for me, which majorly sucks 😤 Abdominal exercises and all sound great for toning but they won't get rid of the fat. I guess I'll have to wait and see how it looks once and if I reach under the BMI of 25.
  9. So I am upgrading my degree and have lectures and readings daily. Unfortunately my surgery got cancelled twice (Covid) and now it is finally happening on Sept 7th while my school work is on (Program started in August). I am aware it takes 1 to 2 weeks at the least to ease into your normal schedule. But my question is, day of the surgery or the next day or the very first week, did you have the stamina to sit and read something? Will I be able to sit down and listen to my lectures online, take notes or study with painkillers the very first week?! I have read how sleeping does cuz issues but how about just sitting in a chair and studying?! Will it be doable? I have deadlines coming for assignments and one midterm. I have informed my instructions of the surgery but I'll have a lot to catch up on if I let it pile up even for a week. So please let me know how manageable was the pain and comfort the very first week. I appreciate everyone's feedback and replies last few days I have had some concerns 🤗🤗🤗

    Potatoes?

My diet plan doesn't want us to restrict anything as long as we keep our portions in check. Potatoes are there too. So I don't really shy away from them and do consume in curries and stuff. Though, I do make sure to keep their portion smaller compared to rest of the veggies. And curries are home made. So we of course stay away from using any heavy loaded fat content like butter, heavy cream or tons of oil. We cook our curries in bare minimum oil. I think I do enjoy the fact that I don't have to restrict myself from anything as long as I am mindful of not overindulging in anything more than prescribed. I kept wondering how others' plans are outlined hence the thread lol.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Yeh I really don't know how stalls and breaking of stalls function no matter how much I read on it LMAO. Though upping calories is a lot of work for me if I adhere to my diet guidelines. I don't want to feel like I am continuously eating throughout the day just to up my calories. I think I'll stick to whatever calories I can consume comfortably without pressuring myself to increase or decrease. Average for me also about 2ish Lbs/week but that includes all the weight I have lost in the first 6 months. Though, I have noticed that every other month I stall or lose slowly. So may be that's the pattern for myself, which again is fine as long as it is spiralling downwards. Just hope I don't stop anytime soon lol. I still have tons of inches especially in the middle which need to come off to a reasonable amount for my body to look symmetrical. Anyhow, let's see how my body progresses. It's good to keep this thread updated to see how everyone is doing.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I am also in my 7th month mark and finished 6 months end of May. After scale moving for a month, it's back to stalling yet again 😩😆 Looks like my stalls will come on more frequently as I get closer to the goal. So nothing to worry as long as it keeps moving down. Still want to lose another 40. If not that, at least 30 more to feel comfortable in my shoes. I think I may need to increase my calories possibly since I am still hovering around 900ish. I am thinking to go 800ish again. Either that or it's gotta go above 1000 to 1100ish. But it's difficult to get that much food in. Sigh. It seems like I would have to eat all the time which I dislike. But I think I'll have to do it if lessening the calories doesn't work. I think stalls happen when body gets too comfortable with certain calories so I think upping is the key but I get petrified of increasing calories and stopping the weight loss. Anyhow, Let's see how far along I go.

    Straws

I still don't get the logic behind "No Straws" Oh well. I started using straws now, 6 months post-Op. Haven't had any issues.

    OOTD

Awww, Nooooo @Arabesque 😭 😂 I really like this outfit. It looks even better in person. May be with some alteration, I can keep wearing it. Just waiting to hit the goal and I can alternate some of my favourite outfits, whichever are possible, besides of course splurging on the new ones. 😂

    7 weeks out, perfecting portions

Though you should stay within your program's guidelines because in the beginning your stomach is healing so you don't get the full signal sometimes for weeks or months. Hence it is important to follow your diet guidelines and portions, at least initially. Do reach out to your doctor if guidelines aren't clear or you need more guidance.

    7 weeks out, perfecting portions

I for one still don't get the concept of stretching of the pouch. You can eat as much as you can and sometimes may be little more. But you can't eat beyond a certain limit. Let's say even if the pouch does get stretched, you're still not going beyond a certain calories threshold (unless your program is designed differently). Plus small pouch is temporary stuff. It will get stretched a little as your stomach heals. And it's a life long journey where we will have to learn how to control out instincts and majorly stay under certain limit, stretched pouch or otherwise. That's just how my logic functions everytime I hear about pouch and stretch. I could be totally wrong but that is what I go by. End of the day I will have to control my mind for a successful life long WLS journey.

    OOTD

One of my favorite outfits. It fit me when I was 220 and it fits me even now, though better and little bigger, may need little adjustments.

    Calories per day

6 months post-Op and I do somehwere between 850 to 1000 calories averaging about 900 I would say.

To count or not to count (calories)

    Losing weight except Belly!!

6 months poat-Op and I still have a lot more to lose from the belly area. You do lose inches around it but damn it's slow. I have lost more from my breast and chest area than belly so even clothes fit weirdly 😂 I am just hoping by the end of the journey, my belly disappears for good or at least significantly smaller where it looks consistent with rest of my body. I would call myself apple shaped so belly area was so significantly bigger.

    Saggy neck?

So having lost some weight, my skin under the neck is a bit saggy. I already have short neck, my side face makes it look more obvious. Question is, will the skin snap back a little may be in months to a year? How has your experience been, did you face skin snap back especially your neck area?
  22. DaisyAndSunshine

    Saggy neck?

How's the scar for neck lift? I took some pictures and I think I see some difference with some face yoga or may be just little more weight loss. Sagging looks little better. So I suppose, I'll just to wait and watch how it looks towards the end of my weight loss and what procedures I may or may not need.

    I'm struggling losing weight

3-4 weeks of stall. Majority of us have gone through it. When you're losing a huge amount of weight right after surgery (water weight) you're bound to stall for few weeks (as you regain water weight while lose fat/muscle simultaneously following weeks). Do watch the above shared video. Stalls will happen and you should be ready for it. Good Luck.
  24. DaisyAndSunshine

    Regrets ?

None what so ever. And like many others mentioned, only regret is not getting it done sooner. It's like the surgery has blew a new life within. It doesn't fix my life completely but there's a new ray of hope that life just may turn out worth living.
  25. DaisyAndSunshine

    Is this a real stall?

I am the worst person to ask this question 😂 I am always petrified of upping my calories. Though after the last stall, upping my calories did help (currently consume around 800 to 950 calories). But I can't imagine going beyond 1200 during the weight loss phase. But that's just me and my past experiences speaking. Many here vouch on having lost weight by increasing their calories. So no harm in giving it a shot. Try increasing to 1300 for a week and see how it goes. If that doesn't work, next try reducing it by 100. If even those don't work, then body will do its thing and all you can do is continue working your diet and exercise hoping for the scale to move.
