Get nectar Protein. Add to crystal light or other food or drink... you can even taste it. Just learn to mix well.

I am getting RNY on 12/20 as well. I am ready to move forward in this journey as well!I’m scheduled for Dec 20. It seems surreal, as I’ve been on this path since Nov of 2018.
I’m really looking forward to getting on with it. Scheduled for a RNY.

I am in same boat. All cleared as of last Wednesday. Now waiting for insurance to ok and get on schedule. Am told December sometime...I had my psych appt today and she indicated no concerns. Met with the nurse and all medical tests are done and good.
Now back to the surgeon to sign off and then schedule. They told me it could take up to 2 weeks to hear back but an early December appt is likely. Anyone else looking at first or second week of December?

You are doing the right things. I dont like the shakes either but make sure they are super cold or blend with ice, if allowed. Blend with a small amount of Decaf helps too.Hi Everyone,
I’m scheduled to undergo the gastric sleeve surgery next Monday, December 2nd. I’m anxious and scared about this life changing decision but I’m also excited about the journey ahead. I’m on day 4 of my 11 day pre-surgery diet and the Protein Shakes are gagging me. I’m limited to using shakes from Bariatric Advantage and Bariatric Fusion. Any tips on how to make them taste better? I’ve tried using extracts and drink mixes.
I’m also hoping for some encouraging words for this surgery. I hope I’m making the right decision. I have this fear that I’ll feel nauseous for the rest of my life and I won’t be able to enjoy food ever again.
You wont care about food anymore... you wont need to enjoy it so much as you will replace other things/activities etc. That you will enjoy more! You will eat to live, not live to eat.
Best wishes! You can do it!!

Lapband to RNY bypass on 12/20 - how do you tell people?
in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)

Hi all. I am new here but wanted to say I appreciate having this forum to have a place to ask questions and get support.
I had lapband in 2011 and lost 125lbs and actually kept it off for 5 years, then got pregnant and band prolapsed and have had trouble ever since. Gained nearly all the weight back but have now been approved to get band removed and have bypass next Friday!! Exciting but also a bit scary.
I wasnt sure when (or if) this would ever happen... and now have a new set of colleagues who dont know about my lapband journey so I didnt tell any of my colleagues at work about bypass. Now I am on calendar for this Friday. I am taking 2 weeks off for Christmas but I know I will be losing weight rapidly when i get back. How did you tell your colleagues, or did you? If you did, how did they react?
