It has been 43 days since my surgery (Dec. 16, 2019) and I have only lost 22 lbs. Had the three week stall and since then I have only lost 2 lbs. It is driving me nuts. Keeping my calories around 600-700 and started working out twice a week. No change in clothes fitting either. My start weight was 96 kg and I am now at 86 kg. first week was when I lost the most weight. I hope it starts to move soon, been reading all these forums and I haven't seen anyone in my situation.

I had surgery the same day as you. I was stuck at 25lbs down for the last 2-3 weeks (since I've returned to work). I JUST lost 3lbs over the weekend so now I'm 28lbs down.

Same as far as the first week being the most weight lost, and I haven't worked out at all yet.

I increased my Protein and I'm forcing more Water as I could only get 2 16oz bottles in a day..maybe! And who knows if that's what got those 3lbs off but I'm going to stick to what I'm doing for now, you could see if that helps?

  2. Officially 6 weeks out today and I’m able to return to “regular foods” lol. Not that I have much of an appetite and I get full after I few bites. I had 1/4 of an omelette for breakfast (so good) hope it reheats well. Triple zero Greek yogurt for snack, a 2oz chicken breast for lunch with some roasted cauliflower (didn’t finish but yummy). Got home and my husband bought me a hot pickle (my fave). I haven’t had one since before surgery. I had 2 thin slices...so good. Had leftover chicken breast for dinner with 1/4 baked sweet potato. Although I’m not finishing my plates I’m so excited to be enjoying dinner with my family again! I bought a food scale so I can measure out my meats, more yogurts and Protein granola, string cheese, whole grain crackers, mini baby bell cheese and more fairlife Protein Shakes to make it through my first “normal” week!

I had my surgery 12/10/19 and I have lots of temptations and I've slipped up bc food kinda was an addiction for me and I "quit cold turkey" and the diet planning is hard when you live on a budget. Anyone have any ideas on which brands or food are good bc I've run out of Protein Shakes so I may not be getting enough not sure

but overall it's still successful I've lost 34 lbs since then and don't need to take blood pressure pills or diabetic medicine so that's pretty cool to me

you're doing great! It may be easier to buy Protein Powder and mix it with something vs buying the shakes. I ujse Isopure unflavored Protein powder and it's 30g of protein per scoop. Would last you longer than a package of shakes. Just use the powder once a day and eat the rest of you protein!

My Water intake has been my issue too. I also hit a stall and then lost another 5lbs and now I’m at another stall. I see my dr next week for my 6 week post op visit. I’m down 19lbs from surgery on 12/16. I don’t know if that’s good/bad/meh lol. I want to hear what my surgeon says. He didn’t really give me what he expects me to be at when I go back to see him and that’s giving me anxiety.

Same for me with the stalls. I'm 25lbs down since surgery and we have the same surgery date so maybe we are on the right track <_< lol idk anymore! MY surgeon didn't set any goals or expectations either...do we have the same doctor? haha! I saw him 2 weeks out and he was proud of my 15lbs down at that time..hopefully by 2/11 I'm past this stall

Wow! You all are doing so good! I was sleeved 12/24 and am only down 9 pounds since surgery. I'm constantly nauseous and am beginning to think it's the Vitamins we're required to take because I was breezing through until I started those week 3. I cannot stand to be nauseous!!! I am in phase 3 of the post-op diet which is the soft food stage. I am able to eat about 1.5 ounces of tuna or egg but chicken makes me gag the minute I smell it. Hearing everyone else's results makes me think I'm not doing something right :(

I hated the chewable vitamins, after the first week I bought the vitamin patches off of this site and so far so good! Consider trying them, I haven’t felt nauseous using them so far

No disrespect but this is nothing like any surgery you have had. During surgery no anesthesia I'm sure is not an option. Post no pain meds I'm sure can be and it's great you want to be "clean" however this is no joke....

I agree. I'd see about going without pain meds post op but you definitely will want anesthesia during the procedure

Im so proud of everyone! You all are truly doing amazing! I can’t thank each and every one of you enough for being here and helping me. I’m 4 weeks PO. Two maybe three bites I’m full. I try to eat 3 times a day, sometimes it don’t happen though. I’m eating stuff like vegan meat balls, soft veggies, tofu, avocado, PB2. I’m doing real good with fluids and Protein Drinks. I’m maintaining minimum 60g of Protein, and almost reached 85oz of Fluids. Whoot whoot!!

Hey now!!! I'm trying to do better at my Water intake, that's my main focus this week! I'm 4 weeks PO as of yesterday :)

You’re doing amazing I am 2 weeks out and 9.8 pounds down as of today. I started purée today! I made egg salad and I am making taco Soup. They will both last me all week. I will be doing refried Beans and cheese, ricotta bake, and chicken salad next week.

Thank you! Nice you get to start purees! This is my 2nd week of purees but I didn't get to start them until I was 3 weeks out. Taco Soup sounds good!!

  9. I'm 4 weeks out today and have been at 23lbs down for the last week or so, really fluctuating with a pound less. I hate how this messes with my head lol like you feel like it's not enough but realistically it's more than I would've done on my own lol I keep trying to tell myself this.

I do need to work on getting more Water in, I've gotten a lot better at getting my Protein in but I don't think I'm getting enough calories either.

I want to start working out. I bought some weights and have an elliptical..just gotta use it lol

edit to add: What are you guys eating at the stages you're in? How may calories? I'm on my 2nd week of purees; I've had scrambled eggs, tuna, refried Beans and homemade guacamole so far. I don't have an actual schedule to follow on how I eat though. I "feel" hungry often but get full so fast. I see my dietician for the 1st time post op on February 11th.

    Hello,

I was sleeved on 12/11/19. So far I am down 23lbs. I hit a two week stall, but I realized I wasn't eating or drinking enough Water.

I think that's my issue but I don't see the dietitian until the 11th of February, I wasn't given a specific amount of calories to try and eat, just 64oz Water and 60-65g Protein. I struggle with getting my water in but doing better at protein now that I'm on purees. I hit a 2 week stall and now I think I'm stalling again 4 weeks out. My weight hasn't went down and I'm fluctuating the same 2 pounds. Like no way I'm gaining when I barely eat :56_anguished: lol

Had VSG on 12/9. 30 day out today and down 23 lbs. doesn’t sound so bad when I type it, but it feels like it’s coming off so slow! But feeling better and down a size.

I feel the same way like mine is coming off slow too.. I know I wouldn’t lost 25lbs in a normal month but I guess I just have high expectations 😕😕
