    December Surgery dates???

Good to know. Not sure why they had me drinking that in the hospital? I preferred regular ice water over diluted apple juice anyway

    December Surgery dates???

Glad your surgery went quick! Mine was about an hour exactly. I have pain just at the biggest incision area and that’s really only when I’m moving around too much. I hold my stomach too but the pregnancy band really helps. I agree with the sipping being difficult to master..I can do more than 3 sips in 15 minutes, but I just take my time. I’m scared of getting dehydrated. How’s broth and jello going?
  3. Thank you, I’m much better today compared to yesterday. I finally passed gas today and was overly excited lol my daughter came in the room like “Mom?!” 😂😂. I’ve been getting up and walking around the house as much as I can. What protein are you having that has lots of fiber? All I have is chicken broth. May go get some miralax just to have it on hand
  4. IMO had surgery Monday 12:16 and I’m wondering how you slept right after surgery, at home? We don’t have a recliner unfortunately. The best part about the hospital was the adjustable angles of the bed. I’ve piled pillows to thee sides of me and used a back pillow to sleep sitting up so far. When we’re you able to sleep on your side? What helped you to be more comfortable?
  5. I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach again! I’m a side and tummy sleeper, I need options lol. I agree with the ab pains from getting up and down. I have a heating pad ive been using that feels great and try to use a pillow for pressure and it kinda helps
  6. I did sleep pretty decent after my shower last night..or maybe it was the exhaustion lol. I tapered on the pills throughout the day today. And tomorrow is my last day being home “alone”..kiddos will be home with me after that 😩 so I’m trying not to need the pain meds. Just took some now though so I can hopefully get decent rest again
  7. Whew 2-3 weeks? I guess it could be worse.
  8. I’ve been having night sweats too. Idk if it’s the meds or what but yeah. I especially had them in the hospital. At home I’m more relaxed for sure just at the hospital I didn’t have to worry about anyone else in the bed with me
  9. Ohh I just can’t wait to be normal again lol
  10. Okay thank you. May have the hubs go get me a body pillow, I’m hogging all the bed pillows lol had to grab one off of the couch
  11. Sorry for any typos, when creating a post through the app, the background is black as well as the words making it impossible to see what you’re typing lol

    Hydration

I use my planner as it has slots for water intake. Also if you download the Baritastic Social app, it has a simple water tracker
  13. I’m glad your experience had been well so far and I hope it only continues to get better. I had my surgery this Monday 12/16 and I made it home the next day by 1pm. I definitely agree with extremely painful gas from the front to the back upon wake up. I got to my room and slept as soon as the morphine hit, I was/am so exhausted. I walked around 9pm and had ice chips and diluted apple juice. Now that I’m home I’ve been keeping on top of my pain meds but hopefully won’t need anything but Tylenol soon. I tried jello which was too sweet and chicken brith yesterday. Been drinking as much water as I can and walking around the house. I’m burping but I can’t wait till I can actually pass gas or have a bowel movement 😬 lol

    December Surgery dates???

Surgery was Monday 12/16, the gas pain is the worst but once I got to my room them gave me morphine and I was able to rest. I felt so exhausted, I slept all day after surgery lol. Got to go home yesterday. Pain is controlled with a full ache/uncomfortable feeling. I was kind of dehydrated pre surgery so I’m doing my best to drink as much fluids as possible which is hard because I want a big gulp of ice water and that’s just not happening lol. I’m taking liquid oxycodone, ondasetron, something for stomach pain/cramps and Pepcid. Since I’ve been home I’ve slept, taken meds, trying to walk around and took a nice shower before bed. I have this tummy support band I used when I was pregnant and it feels good today, like putting a little pressure on my stomach which feels good as well as using a heating pad. My incisions are fine except for the biggest one, it hurts and leaked a little bit of clearish pink fluid at the hospital, the dr looked at it and send it was normal. I’ve had diluted apple juice, some chicken broth, jello which tasted so sweet and a SF popsicle which was extra sweet as well. Ready for the pain to subside!!
  15. Surgery is 12/16! Good luck! No tips on the nervousness besides deep breaths lol my mind is wondering and I’m getting a little anxious. Ready to get this done so I can start healing, the anticipation has been bothering me a little bit lol. One more day, you got this!!

Pre op starting a liquid diet

Are you expecting a surgery date soon? My preop diet was only 10 days and I definitely wasn't starting any earlier lol but that's just me. I get it though, it could be good to get a jump start so that if you "cheat" now it won't effect the actual preop time. Stock up on as much as you can now. Nothing worse than running out of the few things that you can have lol
  17. Congratulations!! I'm 12/16 and so ready to get it done and start healing! hopefully the pain subsides soon!

    Pre-op diet

Oh man I probably would’ve cheated too 😩. I made chicken fajitas tonight for the family..I can have some “thin sliced chicken” but I had bell peppers and onions too-no tortilla though! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I honestly figure if nothing else I’m definitely eating super healthy this week lol and if you’re going all day following the diet then 1 cookie won’t hurt! I can’t believe we have less than a week! Have you stocked up for post op diet? I guess I’m anxious to see how I feel afterwards 😬

    Pre-op diet

The protein shakes just don't taste all that good to me lol. It is crazy how different these surgeons are. I've been doing good. I only feel hungry when I smell other peoples food. Cooking for my family is killing me lol

    Pre-op diet

Hey! How are you feeling about starting preop diet? I was grocery shopping this weekend and it hit me like this is it lol 😩. Mine is 10 days, starting this Friday. I can have sugar free yogurt and jello, a piece of fruit, cottage cheese, broth, protein shakes, cucumbers, pickles, broccoli or cauliflower and once a day I can have thin sliced turkey or chicken

    Pre-op diet

Good luck!! Mine starts next Friday, hopefully those days fly by
  23. It sucks that your doctors are just trying to pass the buck. So is it not “official” that you have liver disease? I’d find a new PCP at a different practice and go from there, see if they’ll refer you out to a Hepatologist ( doc that specializes in livers) to get some real answers
  24. Hey Crystal! I hope you’re starting to feel better! My surgery is 12/16 and I’m nervous about the pain. I’m glad you posted this because people have given great tips that I can use!
