    December Surgery dates???

    Awesome Christmas gift to yourself!
  2. Good morning!! I’m very new here, I ran across the site yesterday and thought I’d go ahead and sign up! I’m 29 years old and a mom of 2. I just got married March 29th this year but we’ve been together for 7 years! I started my journey March 22nd, 2019. I went to my initial consult one week before my wedding day lol. I didn’t know if I really wanted to have surgery at that point but the thought had crossed my mind many times so I began the process. I waited until after our honeymoon and for the wedding excitement to calm a bit before starting monthly PCP visits. At my consult in March I was 292lb but at my visit to my pcp in May I was 312lb...wtf lol. Happy weight maybe? It needed to go..since my 2nd PCP visit on 6/25/19 I’ve lost 30lb so I’m pretty happy with the work I’ve put in so far. My husband had no idea I weighed over 300lb but I’m “proportionate” so it’s hard to tell exactly, but I knew. Anyway. I spent my 6 months researching and educating myself on this surgery, reading others stories, the good and the bad. I’m definitely having the surgery and I’m excited! Today is actually my pre op visit with surgery set for December 16th! I’m open to any advice, suggestions, or stories! I’m excited to y’all with you guys!
  3. I’m glad to hear that! ☺️ thank you!
  4. Oh man I’m sorry to hear that! Hopefully everything is a lot better for you now!

    See a difference?

    Definitely!! Looking great!
  6. I had surgery the 16th mid day and that wake up was terrible..I couldn’t wait to get to my room. When I did they put me on a morphine drip and I slept for the evening. I was extremely thirsty and around 9pm I woke up and started water & diluted apple juice and finally got up at 11pm to do a lap around the unit. Once I got to moving I started feeling better even though I was still in pain, they’d give me morphine when I made it back to my room. I’d fall asleep for a couple hours and do it again. I went home the next day. I’m not sure the reason or difference between a nerve block and/or regular pain meds? It seems people who have those have a bit more pain. Hopefully you get to feeling better and get to go home!
  7. My whole family ended up with a cold the week before my surgery..except me lol. I drank airborne, drank as much water as I could, and avoided my sick family lol
  8. Thank you!! Everything did go well! I’m home tryna get used to my new normal lol it’s not been bad though so I’m grateful !
  9. Thank you! I’ll be a week out tomorrow, hasn’t been too bad thankfully! How were you feeling a week out vs now?
  10. I’m almost a full week post op and feeling good for the most part. The one large incision is bothering me but I got my workout binder on and that’s helped a lot. Been to the store and ran some other errands this weekend, feeling tired today so just gonna rest. How did surgery go for you? How are you feeling now?

    December Surgery dates???

I agree with lots of things being super sweet! Even plain bottles water has a sweetness to me right now 😩. I’m only drinking water, protein water occasionally, broth and Gatorade zero. Tomorrow I can add in more things like cream of wheat, sugar free yogurt and pudding, and milk..so excited lol. I was slightly dehydrated in the hospital but the made that was better before discharge and the Gatorade zeros have really helped me. I just used the first week to really focus on fluids. Sipping is hard for me, I bought crushed ice because that really helped

    Feeling sad

Hey I’m sure it’s normal to feel a little sad, you’ve made such a life changing decision and it’s okay to mourn that! I believe you’re having a completely normal reaction to the changes of your old self, old habits, old mindset, etc! You should also let your doctor know how you’re feeling, hormone changes do take place when having wls! Praying for your peace 💕

    December Surgery dates???

Hey now! That’s awesome! You’re doing great. I’m only 5 days post op but I already know trying to reach that calorie goal will be a little difficult initially..or even counting the calories in general. Maybe cream of wheat with a scoop of protein for breakfast? I think I can have that during week 2 😬

    December Surgery dates???

Did you try the Miralax yet? I’ve had it the last 3 days but only went today and day before yesterday. Hope it helps you! I cannot get past this one incision area hurting me. It hurts to move, sit up, bend, cough. I know it’s the biggest one but sheesh. I got a little light headed this morning after struggling to get out of bed I think it just hurt too much. Nothing else is bothering me though so I just want that area to get better!! I’ve been taking pics of it to make sure nothing is changing/pussing/turning red. I’m washing the area with dial soap to make sure it’s clean. I made it to my daughters dr appt yesterday and the auto car wash but didn’t attempt the grocery store. Hubs is home so we’re going today. How was ballet? Take a nap before going shopping! I was completely exhausted after my couple of errands yesterday. I’m gonna try the coffee with protein shake today, sounds so satisfying lol
  15. Proud of you! I’m not going back to work till January although I’m sure I could handle going back next week lol.

    Congratulations! That’s so exciting!
  17. Congrats! I’m glad you’re feeling good. I was sleeved 12/16 and feeling pretty good, I have this 1 incision that’s the biggest one and bothering me. I’m excited I’m close to stage 2 diet lol

    December Surgery dates???

Lol well this one painful incision is killing my vibe! Hopefully the feeling subsides soon. Try a heating paid and I’ve been doing soft tummy rubs on myself lol clockwise..helped me get the gas moving. And of course trying to get up and walk around will help too. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

    December Surgery dates???

My post op visit is next Friday so we’ll see! I’m only 3 days post op so I haven’t tried lifting anything heavy but my 2 year old is 30lbs and always wants me to hold him. I sit on the couch and have my 9 year old put him on the couch with me so I don’t have to pick him up lol. My daughter has a drs appt and I need to go to the grocery store so im a little nervous! If I’m worn out from the drs appt I’ll just wait on hubs to get off work and have him stop at the store. The clinic nurse called this morning and told me miralax was okay so I was happy lol. I’m glad you’re doing well!!

    December Surgery dates???

@jedimom broth is hard for me for some reason. The first day jello was way too sweet for me, I tried it again and now I’m able to tolerate it. I made the family some hamburger soup for dinner and I had the broth which was tolerable and very yummy today. I had my first bowel movement today and I was so excited lol I did drink miralax this morning though. I’m normally pretty regular and was scared of not being able to go. I haven’t started my vitamins yet because I tried them presurgery and I already know they’re gross lol. Decaf coffee with protein shake sounds so good, I may try that tomorrow too. The Gatorade zeros have really helped me but now I’m gonna focus back on mostly water, don’t wanna depend on those to keep me hydrated. I’ve been doing good at walking around the house, I have a few errands to run tomorrow so we’ll see how that goes. I made it all day without pain meds again so it’s looking like I’m only needing them at the end of the day. This 1 incision is hurting and kinda bruised, once that one heals up I think I’ll be good.
  24. Congratulations on your sobriety Claire! You’re doing great! I can only hope I lose 22lbs by my 2 week mark. It’s all a mind game but all will be well! You got this!!
