    Bloated/painful stomach

I agree with Bella, it sounds like your gall bladder. According to my surgeon this is a common problem after losing a lot of weight. I would go ahead and give your doc a call. I hope you feel better:smile:

    Pulling a Star Jones...?

I have not yet been banded, but I am still not sure who I will tell. The only people who know that I am even considering this are my mom and best friend. I will tell my Dad when I go to visit around Father's day. Most likely, I will not tell anyone else including family and co-workers. I just don't want to be crititized for my decision. I admire those that are open and honest about it to everyone, maybe one day I will feel like I can be more open.

My banding story! I did it!

Congratulations on your banding! Are you still needing you pain medicine now or is advil or tylenol enough?
  5. I have read good things here on the forum about the Isopure Protein drinks. I have not had my surgery yet, so I cannot give my opinion but they seem to have interesting flavors- not just chocolate or vanilla. I found some here GNC - Nature's Best I like that they are premixed and I can take them to work without have to mix them.

Good luck! I am also just getting started on my journey, I am going to the seminar next week. I hope to have my surgery the beginning of August- if everything is approved.

    Hello!

I have been thinking about Lap-banding for the past couple of months. A friend of mine had it in October and has had amazing results. Its not been a magic fix for her but with hard work she is making the band work. A little bit about me... I have been overweight since I was 8 years old, but it wasn't until after high school that I put on the most weight. Freshmen 15- uh no I put on 4o#. In the past I have been able to lose weight usually with no problem, but I can never keep it off and I end up gaining it all back plus more. So next week I am starting my journey and going to the seminar. Right now I am about 5# under my insurances requirement of a 40bmi. Should I try to gain the 5# to get the approval? I do not have any comorbidities.

    Hello!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am getting so excited about the band, its really nice to have places like this to ask questions and find info.
  10. I would just call your insurance provider and ask them if the banding is covered and if it is, what are the requirement (i.e bmi, comorbidities). Thats what I did and my insurance co rep gave me all the info.:cool2:
