Hey @MeredithElaine how are you today? We're 2 days out and I'm feeling worse today than yesterday. Its all manageable but I'm having a harder time getting the Water down. It makes a gurgling noise and wants to come back up lol. I've got 43 oz. liquid and 60g Protein in today. Drinking the Protein20 Water so I get both at the same time.

Oof. Day 2 was rough. I had a hard time keeping anything down. Today is better in that respect. But I cried today a lot. I’m used to feeling ugly, but the new incisions are so ugly and hurt a bit that I just lost it. A conversation with my mom and one with my husband helped. I’m just hoping that it’s onward and upward from here. 🙂

Quick question for you, at 5 days out, do you think you could go to a movie theater and watch a movie?

Reason I ask is a friend of mine is doing a talk at the local movie theater and I'd like to go but I'm not sure that 5 days after my surgery I'd be able to go...

    Thank you,

I wouldn’t be able to. No popcorn, no soda ☹️☹️☹️

Good morning everyone! This time tomorrow I will be coming out of surgery! I promise to give you lots of details tomorrow. I know I wait to read everyone's posts right out of surgery. Thanks @Unclechaz for your update.

I'm on day 7 of the pre op liquid diet. Everyone said after day 3 it would get easier and I would have a strange mystical energy. That sounded a little nutty but it has been so true. I'm not even hungry at all. I'm really grateful, even if it was just to shrink my liver it has got me used to being ok without food. Oh, and I've lost 10 lbs! (I had bounced back up to 300 and I'm 290 this morning).

I'm tied for super excited and freaking out. I have worked almost 11 months for this. I quit smoking after 30 years for this. I'm expecting the first week buyer's remorse. I'm prepared to sip and walk like it's my job.

I hope everyone who went in this month so far is doing great and will give us happy updates soon! Prayers for us all for new beginnings!

    Good luck tomorrow, surgery sis!!!!

  4. Hey November fam! My pre-op appointment is on the 28th, so I’ll find out the details of my pre-op diet then. Until then I’m on the “Tour de Fat” — enjoying things I won’t be able to for a long time. 😂

Also, today marks 3 weeks since I quit smoking. Terrible habit, I know. But complications can occur with surgery if you smoke, so there you go. My husband quit with me in solidarity, which is nice. Anyone else in the group a quitter?

Also, how are your SOs/loved ones supporting you in this journey?

  5. Hi all! At this point in time, only my husband, my family and a few close friends know. I work remotely from home, so there's no need for me to tell coworkers. I told my bosses that I needed to take a few days off because of surgery, but that it was nothing serious. My side of the family is in NJ, while we live in Texas close to my husband's family. Haven't told anyone on that side yet, but with the holidays coming...they'll see me not eating much and I'm sure they'll get suspicious, so I'll have to spill the Beans at some point.
