  5. Well, my, my. I didn't know that thread starters cannot edit posts, or I would have placed this in my original post so that everyone could keep referring to it, but I went into all the March threads and put everyone's dates together so that everyone could see their buddies! I will put this in the other March threads as well. If you are new or don't see your name, I will be more than happy to add it! 6. Oh, okay, thanks. I was getting confused.
  7. Very interesting. I think you are the first person I've read who had a RNY to Lap-Band revision. All the ones I've read was the other way around. Also, I didn't know that they were still performing Lap-Band procedures.

    March 10th surgery date

Hey guys! We have 2 March surgery threads going, so I think there are a lot more March 10th people so check them out!

    February Surgery ?

That is hilarious!!! Did you really say you were about to walk out??? HAHAHAHA! Wow. I guess they were like, we aren't losing this money! HA!
  10. I'm glad I'm not on FB for this very reason. It can be quite the cesspool... I start my liquid diet on Sunday! But the 4 months of low carb has done wonders for my knees already...

Perhaps it's different for sleeve patients.

    BACK PAIN

I was told that I couldn't have carbonated drinks.
  13. Slippers. Another thing I hadn't really thought of. I kinda wish I was doing this during the warmer months so I can get outside and walk without having to layer up or wear boots. We've had a mild winter and last year when this happened, it stayed cold until June... ugh.
  14. I found the NIH article regarding bypass and body rate set point: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5485884/

    February Surgery ?

I'm not sure, but I think because it's all laparoscopic these days, the recovery should be much faster.
  16. Ummm… that's a good idea! I was thinking about what to wear to the hospital, what's easy to get in and out of... the bra thing is definitely an issue for me because I have big girls to deal with and I have to snap into my bra and then twist it around.... hmmmm… may not be a good idea post op. I do have a front zip up sports bra …. I'm going to dig that out. I will likely be in my sweat pants and I will take my hoodie jacket. It will still be cold here, but I'm hoping for no late snow storms... this winter has been very unpredictable….

    February Surgery ?

Hang in there, I know it will get better. I had my gallbladder removed many, many years ago the old fashioned way -- they had to cut me in half to get it. If I could endure that pain, I figure I can handle the bypass. I also have a hiatal hernia that the surgeon will deal with during the surgery, so your post is very helpful to me. Thanks for the liquid Tylenol information too.

I hate to admit it, but the Premier caramel is really the bomb.dot.com! Just reading all of these replies -- thanks so my for posting post-ops, it really helps!

    February Surgery ?

Someone asked about a liquid, sugar free acetaminophen -- I think I found one made by Mapap. You can go to the site here: https://www.mountainside-medical.com/products/acetaminophen-elixir-160mg-5ml-16oz. It's cheaper there, although you can get it on Amazon as well.
  20. My, my! It's getting so real for me now! A week from tomorrow will be the beginning of my liquid diet! Although I seem to be getting some early practice in due to this stupid tooth! AGH. I'm in the middle of a root canal -- I started to tell the dentist just to pull it, but I didn't want a gaping hole in my mouth weeks before the big surgery. So I have to put up with the pain until my dentist finishes. I have to see him 3 more times in 2 weeks until he can cap it. Last week, I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets and the freezer; next weekend I plan to remove all food from the refrig except for what I can have during the liquid phase. I also have to get my place in order before my sis gets here. I had wanted the surgery in January, but I believe in the divine order of things. Things got held up until my primary doctor returned from vacay because the Bari center didn't accept her clearance statement, so she had to redo it. By the time the Bari center was able to catch up with me (late January), I decided to wait until March until my sis could get here and I wasn't trying to have surgery during the retrograde. As it turns out, the surgery will be 2 days before my birthday, as divinely ordered (at least in my mind anyway); it will be a renewal, a reset, a reorder to my life. Nevermind my babbling... I plan to use this thread as my public journey all the way.
  21. When I had my initial appointment in October, I thought the VSG was what I wanted. The doctor had a long conference with his assistant and it was taking a long time for him to come in. When he did (I was getting mad because they were taking so long), he recommended the By-Pass for that very reason. I had a GERD/Reflux episode so bad earlier that year that I had to go to critical care. Once I read that some VSG patients developed Reflux, I was like NOPE. I'm going with the By-pass. I think I read that technical study or one similar to it a few months ago -- you tend to lose more weight faster and your metabolism seems to reset with the Bypass. Bypass, I'm all in. 3 weeks until the surgery.
  22. I just want to say that I appreciate that you still post here after 5 years. I learn a lot from you.
  23. Some folk continue to post in the pre-op thread and I've seen a few post-op threads started, but not anything current other than the January folks. I think where ever you feel comfortable.
