I had a repair and vsg as well. I had middle chest pain after surgery when I drank fluids the first 2 weeks. It has since gone away, and in fact, I'm not sure if that it a symptom from the vsg or the hiatal hernia repair.

I have that pain in the middle of my chest as well, although it was much worse the first couple of days than it is now. I suspect it's related to the hiatal hernia repair.

  2. I'm having my sleeve in conjunction with a hiatal hernia repair, which I've been told is very common. I'd like to hear from folks who have had this combination, particularly about your recovery & pain afterward. I'm wondering if there are more complications or pain than without the hernia repair? Any issues?

Really? Does the gum really work? I have to get some. Lol. I thought it might make me more hungry 😩

For me, during the first week of the pre-op liquid diet, gum satisfied my urge to chew something, and kept me distracted enough not to think about the diet. I'm on day 13 now (surgery on Tuesday), and am no longer hungry at all, so I don't need the gum anymore.

Oh wow let me not complain. Lol. How do you feel your holding up on day 10? When is your surgery?

It's a lot easier now than it was the first few days, but I'm over it. Ready to get this done. Surgery is on Tuesday at noon, and it can't come soon enough. As for how I'm feeling, I'm doing pretty good, just a little tired from the lack of calories. Also peeing constantly. I've lost around 8 pounds over the last 10 days.
