Hi all, just wanted to check in. Sleeved on 11/1 and then had to go back 11/5 to repair my hernia again. I started puree on 11/14. Taking things nice and slow. The most important thing I've learned is smaller bites and CHEW CHEW CHEW. It's funny, someone posted when their nose runs, they're full and I'm the same way. When you eat slowly your brain really picks up the cues of fullness better. I'm struggling getting the Water in. Sometimes I forget and chug and that's painful so I have to mentally tell myself to sip all day. I still have my sutures but I'm seeing my surgeon again on Monday to remove them and I can't wait. The worst thing for me is the constipation! Does anyone take anything? I was thinking of mixing Miralax in my fluids to help. Thanks in advance!

    Hi

I had my sleeve last wednesday. Was in there for 2 nights only had some shots of morphine night before. No issues and able to drink and swallow fine and no pain now.

My question is from what ive read and heard, it should be hard for me to drink liquids but to me i can drink fine with no issues. Worried maybe my sleeve might be big? Or is it one of those, the body is healing and inflamed and it will take a while to settle

It’s gona heal take your time it will hurt u in the long run

I haven’t checked in here in a while, but I am 6 days out from my date (11/19) .. I am excited, struggling with the liquid diet but not discouraged. I hear Constipation is an issue for most, along with gas. Any tips besides miralax? I was hoping for something more natural so my body wouldn’t necessarily depend on it.

Also! Congratulations to any of the recent sleevers

U got this it’s a mind thing mostly You got this 💪🏾

I hear that. I was sleeved on November 4th. I had my follow up with the surgeon today. He said everything looks good. Said I can move to puree when I get 64 ounces of liquid in for 2 days straight. I'm really struggling with 40. Although, I got in 55 grams of Protein today. Otherwise, I feel great. I definitely feel hunger at times, although not a whole day. I went back to work yesterday, at 1 week. I've been sleeping better and able to sleep more on my side. Never thought I'd look forward so much to 2 ounces of pureed tuna....

I definitely agree but it’s getting better and better each day with getting more protein and Water but I’m definitely getting hungry and wanting food

I have been on point with taking the following:

    • Bariatric Multivitamin 1 x's a day

    • Biotin supplement - found the recommended fairly high dose to take in either Dr. Weiner's videos or that other dr who is hysterically funny and several here follow him

    • Have Celebrate's hair, skin and nails Multivitamin (I alternate with the sublingual Biotin as I was worried about what happens if you take TOO much biotin)

    • Eating at least 64 grams of Protein a day. Dr has me going as high as 80 - I usually end up between 64 and 80 day. Maybe 3 days in past 6 wks where I got less than 64 gms

My surgeons started me on the bariatric Vitamins when I was pre-op and doing the liquid diet. He knows I added the biotin/skin, hair, nails supplement at same time

I also started using Essie nail strengthener on my nails at the same time. My nails started growing so fast, just like when I was pregnant!!!

Fast forward to the past 3 weeks, I am about 4 months post-op and my nails are more brittle than I've ever seen them, they tear off so much that the nail beds are shorter than my fingers...they look like a kid's fingers who chewed all their nails off. The ONLY thing I have not been consistent about getting in is the calcium citrate 3 x's per day.

Could a Calcium deficiency be the reason for this SUDDEN and drastic change?

Most definitely u need Calcium too try n drink milk

  13. Hey guys just a little update on me surgery dat nov 1,2019 11 days post op I’m almost always hungry I can eat soft foods like egg ground turkey but I mostly thrive off sugar free popsicle Protein Shake mostly only one a day and at most 40 oz of Water and be feeling like I’m drowning sometimes even when taking slow sips so I’ll just walk it off to help with the uncomfortableness but each day I’m starving I feel like mind over matter because I know I’m not hungry but other than that I’m doing good just need to focus on getting all my Protein and water in pretty close on water but protein is harder for me I have two week follow up with dr on Monday happy to c how that goes but other than that just taking it day by day how is everyone else doing
