  1. How’s everyone doing with their weight loss and goals over the holidays?
  2. I do wonder why carbs slide and don’t fill up our small stomachs? Bec before surgery and now- I almost never ate pasta because it made me feel stuffed. So why is Bread type food and carbs not filling up a pouch? It’s strange. Anyway my day 1 fast yesterday went well but I forgot I had a screening with a reception afterwards so I didn’t get in as much water as I wanted. And I avoided the amazing free food and had a mini crab cake for dinner. How’s everyone doing today?

    Question about caffeine

I had no caffeine (hardest thing i have ever done physically- seriously) as of 3 days before surgery and i got back on the caffeine like 4 wish weeks after. Every Dr is different. I noticed Drs in Europe and some in Australia and even mexico say you can have caffein right away... it is the caffeine though not coffee in and of itself. Caffeine is acidic and can hurt your new sleeve so pre surgery it shouldn't be an issue really. I know some quit caffeine for life or years.
  4. I only ever dumped once and that's because (I realize now ) I had sea salt and that has always made me pretty nauseous even before surgery.... My issue is carbs and sugars. I realize I am an addict and have had to learn to admit that to myself. When i could OMAD (pre surgery) I would eat a gigantic salad and some protein and if i wanted, fries or a cookie and I ate it all pithing an hour or sometimes 4 hours and then didn't eat again until the next day and I lost weight pretty quickly but surgery made it impossible to get in that much food so I can't OMAD anymore. I just cant hit my goals for protein that way. I Miss salad so much. I tried to have one last night and its just all got sin the trash beak again i get full so fast i cant get much in. I miss salads I wish i could have a huge one again bec i miss veggies. For the holidays I always and the baker in my family and everyone expects my baking and i enjoy it. i only do it once a year, so I haven't been able to give it up... and then i snack on the cookie dough and its like a gateway drug to carbs and again my body has zero issue with me eating it (other than gain which is obviously this soon out NOT acceptable). But is drives me nuts that I can eat cookie dough or cookies or (fill in any food) and my body doesnt push back at all. Whats so odd is eating salad or protein or healthy foods i get full in a couple of bites but I ate three cookies and pie for thanksgiving and ice cream and i didnt get stuffed and that was so bizarre it freaked me out. Like how did my body not react to the bulk of food alone? Anyway i digress. i preplanned my food and protein shakes for the day and thats what I intend to stick to. Here is what it looks like B- Protein shake and espresso and collagen- 190 c water with clear protein mixed in throughout the day - 60 cals Lunch - Protein shake- 160c snack - 1 egg (if I need it) - 75 c Dinner- cottage cheese- 160 cal I'll be around 105 Grams of protein, 10 net carbs, 650 calories and I burned over 800 cals at the gym. Day 1 of 21
  5. So I’m having protein coffee- thank Fluffy for advice, 100 oz water, 90 protein less than 30 net carbs. ( I have been working out 6 days a week so I need some carbs) and around 600 cals. 🙏🏼😫🙌🏼 kind of like a sleeve reset. I’m going to have to rely on shakes and I’m doing a 12:8 today and next week once I know I have this on lockdown move to a 12:6 - wishing you all luck!!!
  6. My carbs aka sugars are unacceptable lately and it doesn’t help that I have an iron sleeve that lets me eat whatever the heck I want. I actually wish I had a physical reaction to food I shouldnt have bec it would help keep me in check so during this holiday period I have to have incredible will power and it’s not my strong suit which is why I got the surgery. Thank G-D I don’t drink. How folks cut that out over holidays when it’s party after party must be so hard. Anyway there are three weeks left in this year and I plan to lock it down diet wise in that time. It’s no joke when they say this is just a tool but all of the hard work is Us - excuse typos this app is so glitchy.
  7. Fluffy how do you make your protein lattes? I’m doing IF- OMAD but I am having coffee with a splash of premier protein this AM pre gym because I have to or I’ll pass out at the gym. And then I have a lunch with friends and then the goal is water until tomorrow. My eating has been crappy this last week. Co grats on the 131 lbs!!!
  8. I hope your recovery goes well. And Congrats!!!
  9. OMGosh that's insane. WLS is necessary and being overweight is considered a disease.... it shoudl be easier to get in all countries.

    Pain

yeah this far out that is irregular so the best take is to ask your Dr. Hope you feel better soon
  11. everyones body is different and i think they react differently. Mine definitely does NOT follow the general rules. It didn't before surgery and it doesnt now. Whoosh's typically don't last several weeks. And I haven't plateaued, my weight loss rate has just picked up but that might be because I upped my carbs... which is also a-typical... Ive had less protein and more carbs and the weight is coming off way faster now.
  12. My weight loss at first was on the slower end and now (thank G-d) it seems to have picked up a bit and I was curious if anyone else had this experience. Now that I can eat more foods and I have been having more carbs (so perhaps that is the change) the weightless is faster but I am still curious if anyones body seemed to take a couple of months to get used to the surgery and then bam... their metabolism and weight loss kicked in? Would love to know folks' experiences ...

    So many chest pains

did your Dr also give you a script for omeprozole? ts could be heartburn from your surgery in the first 6 months you are more prone to that so you should have been given that rx right off the bat. i would insist you Drs check for the and gall bladder. fast weightloss like yours can def affect your gallbladder and kidneys and liver...
  14. I second this- Soft foods slide in easier and you feel like you can eat more but I have recently moved to normal solids and let me tell you- two bites and you are DONE and i mean stuffed. That said i always can drink water easily and fast. I can gulp water but i was a huge water drinker prior to surgery so if you an drink a lot of water thats a good thing bec the number 1 thing to put you back into hospital is not enough water. I cannot however gulp other drinks like coffee or shakes. those I have to sip... so dont think your sleeve isn working... I thought that same thing until i moved to solid foods. Then you feel it for sure.

    2 Months Post Op!

50 lbs is amazing that fast. Congrats
  16. year out how many calories a day are you eating and what is the one thing you learned worked for you to break stalls and loose quickly?

    Dumping (again!)

sleeve patients definitely dump. I think for some too much protein and their bodies don't like it. Maybe add in more healthy carbs....
  18. I agree how does someone who is 5'5 and 178 pounds even get approved for surgery? Thats only about 25lbs above the high range for that height? And 108lbs is way too low. And to walk 10 miles a day you have to be working out for at least 2-3 hours a day which is nuts on 300 cals a day. Def up your calories and you will feel better but also you had major surgery so yo body is tired and still trying to heal.... You lost 80% of your stomach - that takes awhile to heal.... Hopefully you will feel better soon xox

Fkn up Already - 1 week post op

it aways shocks me how the same surgery has totally different rules based on country. Its like WHY? its identical surgeries so how can the protocol afterward vary so dramatically?
