Ok Yvonne, here it is  For my shakes I used either the Carnation Instant Breakfast sugar free ones (they are in a blue bottle or packet, I used the bottles as they were easier) and the Slim Fast High Protein Shakes. Breakfast: A shake Lunch: A shake and a small apple Snack: a light yogurt Dinner: 2 pieces of whole wheat light bread (I used Weight Watchers bread) and 4 ounces of lean deli meat (I used Hilshire farms in the gladware with a red top). I also drank 1 cup of V8 juice. I drank lots of Water throughout the day. It wasn't fun, but wasn't awful either. You can put mustard on your sandwich at night (not mayo though). I liked toasting the bread every now and then to change things up. I hope this helps. Like I said, I lost 17 pounds in two weeks doing it. I stuck to it 100%. Keep us updated on how you are doing!! Jennifer

No problem  I'll be glad to share the diet my surgeon had me on, but it changes from one surgeon to the next. I wouldn't see why he wouldn't be okay with you maybe doing it from now until your surgery. If you stick to it, the pounds will fall off. Let me know what you find out!!

I would call your surgeons office and find out if you can start the liver shrinking diet. I lost 17 pounds in 2 weeks on it. That would put you where you need to be by the time of your surgery. Good luck!

Welcome to the board! I'm in Richmond and was banded this past June! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Where are you having your surgery? And just so you know, I didn't find the two week pre-op terrible. Would it be my choice for ever, absolutely not, did it work...sure did :whatchutalkingabout Good luck!!

Jazzy Junes First Fill Line up

I had my first fill day...wish it had gone as easy as everyone elses. I was so nervous in the waiting room (more so than the day I had the surgery...doesn't make sense). I got back in the room, she stuck me (hurt a little, not too bad though) and then I almost passed out. Got all tingly, room spinning. I really think it was the whole contraption, but it wasn't good. They were so sweet, sat me down, told me it's happened before (I was pretty embarassed), got me a wet rag and then we finished. I drank some apple juice and then felt great. I'm hoping fill 2 will be better. They were really happy with my weight loss. It's lagged a little in the last week, so I'm hoping this will be a good jump start

    fill diet anyone??

I was just getting on to post the same question. My first fill is Thursday (ahhh...:wink2:...quite nervous) and I didn't know what to eat before. I may call tomorrow to find out what they say. I know I'm on liquids for 24 hours, then mushies for 48. Thanks for the insight everyone!

Is it just me...? Share your new happy!

I feel the same way and have actually had people comment on how much happier I seem. It's awesome to feel this good and still know the best is yet to come. I'm all for everyone getting together. Vegas or Beachy works for me I'm not a skiing fan...it's too cold and I'm not very good

    NSV (Non Scale Victory)!!!

I flew last week to Chicago. Normally when it comes to buckling the seat belt, I pull and scoot, and pull and stretch, and then I'm completely uncomfortable the whole trip feeling as though all circulation is being cut off to my mid section. I got on the plane last week, fully expecting to have the same experience. Nope, it just buckled, I honestly, unbuckled it and rebuckled it to make sure it really had happened...now that my friends, was one heck of an exciting moment

Will I ever stop loving to eat?

Ditto to everything said above. I couldn't have said it better myself. I can honestly say I feel like I have a different relationship with food now. I'm only a month out, but things are different. I use to be eating one meal and planning the other. I don't do that anymore. I really think all the chewing allows you to really enjoy your food. I used to eat so fast. Now it takes me about 20-30 minutes to eat. That is a complete WOW factor for me. Good luck and know this is a great place to come with questions, concerns, fears, etc. I know I couldn't have made it without it

Diane, thanks to you, I'll sleep a little better tonight. I'm going to try not to think about it anymore :cool2:

    where is everyone???

Nancy, your surgery will be exactly 1 month after mine. I'm in Richmond and was banded on June 17th at St. Mary's. I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. This site has been awesome to ask questions of those pre and post surgery. Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!

Do they numb you? That would make my anxiety go down just a tad I can't believe I have a fill two weeks from tomorrow...it seems so close (yet, so far away )

Jazzy Junes First Fill Line up

Ok, you guys are really starting to make me feel a little better. My first fill isn't until 2 weeks from Thursday, but I've been so worried about it. I'm not really that scared of needles, but I don't like pain (who does, I guess?!?!). Everyone saying it isn't that bad, has really helped put my mind at ease.

Soon to be banded in Richmond

Anyone know who does fills on Thursday's at St. Mary's?? My first fill is on July 31st. I was banded by Dr. Elliott, but I believe he does Thursday fills at Henrico Doctor's. I'm a little worried about the needle...I hear it's pretty darn big

Whey protein powder that tastes good?

I like the unflavored unjury protein powder. You truly can't taste it when you add it to food. You can purchase it at www.unjury.com. Hope you find one you like!!

My first fill is July 31st...I can't wait to hear stories from all of the Jazzy Junes who get filled before me! I'm a tad bit nervous
  19. I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of someone who loves you so unconditionally is so hard to deal with. My two dogs are my children and I can't imagine life without them. Please know that you are in my prayers!

    Gas Pains!!!!

I know it's been said, but the heating pad became my very good friend. I had bad pain in my left shoulder from the moment I woke up in recovery. The heating pad helped SOOO much! Good luck and feel better!

Calling all those who were banded on June 17th....

I was banded on the 17th and am doing great. I started mushies this past Wednesday and am really enjoying them. I've lost almost 30 pounds between the pre-op diet and after surgery. I'm still a little sore (I can tell when I bend or pull a certain way that I had surgery), but am for the most part back to normal life. I go in for my post-op check up on Monday. I'm excited to hear how everyone else is doing :tt2:

    Jazzy June Protein Preferences

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd let you know that I have tried several different protein powders and finally found one that really doesn't taste like anything :blushing: I added the unjury unflavored to some mashed potatoes and there is NO aftertaste (who ever knew that would make me so excited?!?!). I'm really excited to finally have something to add to food to make it easier to get my protein in. Just thought I'd share. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

How Much Have You Lost So Far?

I lost 17 pounds on my two week pre-op and have lost 7 more since being banded on the 17th. 24 pounds that I will NEVER EVER see again

    Tomorrow is my day!

Congrats on the eve of your new life! I was sitting in your shoes this time last week and know exactly how you are feeling. The last week hasn't been easy, but I'm finally feeling better today. Remember this is major surgery (I seemed to forget this and thought I'd be better in like 48 hours) and to allow your body time to rest and heal! Good luck! I'll be praying for you as well as all the other 24thers!!

    Five days out

I'm five days out and still really sore. Is that normal? Yesterday I didn't feel good, but didn't hurt near as bad as today. I was just having pain by my port but today it's all the way across my stomach. I have been getting myself up, which I know uses lots of muscles and I sneezed this morning which hurt like heck. I know I'm not getting all the protein I need, but I am so over shakes...I'm probably getting more like 30-40 grams a day instead of 60. I am drinking lots of water though. Any suggestions anyone has would be appreciated...I'm just ready to feel better!!
