  1. Can't believe how great I feel. So much energy and can do so much more than i expected. I hiked and walked a lot before but i must have been dragging a piano!

Im almost to my goal but there was a month stall trying to figure out how to be regular. With milk sensitivity and daily opiods things can be tricky. Theres a good brand of Pea Protein that i use daily to swap out one of the whey shakes and I had to go back to using Oxygenated magnesuim at night time. I plan to keep pressing on!

  2. Thanks. Am all set. Driver is picking me up from hotel in SD on Monday and like you will do prep testing and surgery later that afternoon. Did you experience a lot of swelling post op. Am asking only because I am flying back to the East Coast on Friday so it will be a long day. My flight isn’t until that evening but I think Dr. Corvala’s office arranged for late checkout. Hoping my husband will be able to fly out to escort me back home. A little over a month away....
    How are you doing?

Hi, i think the swelling in the abdomen was manageable. While waiting at the airport i walked around more than sat.knowing it would be hard to get up in the plane. I would find extra loose britches not just comfortable, to wear home. The airport checks you over real well with all the bandages around the waist.🤪

  4. Thank you! This was very helpful. Am scheduled for 1/6/20. How was your recovery and travel back home. How many days were you there in total? Did you stay at the hotel?

I flew into San Diego and arrived at the hospital around 9Am. After registration and preop tests thet escorted us to my room. About 1pm they came to get me for surgery. All went very smooth. It was a 2 night stay at the hospital which my husband stayed for 1 and the 2nd night at a motel within walking distance. He walked to restraunts, pharmacy(hospital's was closed on the weekend)and anything else he wanted. Felt very safe in that area.
My recovery has been text book so far. I can call them at a Ca # anytime and have talked to Dr. Corvala when needed.
I was released at noon on Sunday after Fri surgery so we had time to get across that busy border crossing. I know if you feel the need you can stay another night locally and still get an escort back to San Diego.
    Hope this helps.

  5. I know several women in our county who have had the Gastric Sleeve surgery and who they used. I was just about set to go to their Dr but after having a background check done on a few, Dr Lopez Corvala was the only one who sounded solid. Dr Corvala only does 2 procedures a day and with a dedicated team where at least 1 is with you at every turn and on the premises all night if needed. We were picked up and returned at the airport in SanDiego by driver Rafeal . He was a charismatic tour guide with a medical pass that helps immensely when trying to reenter the Us.

When first arriving at the Hospital Angeles the patient coordinator hand delivers you to all testing areas and escorts you to your room. She gave lots of insight into the whole thing. The nurses shifts and things run pretty much like the Us. They were so darling and professional but I got attached to a nurse Maria who took care of me quite a bit. All of the people we had contact with were very traditional and polite. While a few nurses didn't speak English just using goggle translator helped immensely. I think it was even kind of fun. Of course growing up in Arizona I did know lots of spanish but not so much the medical words.

They run an incredible operation and I would trust them with a loved ones life.

Hope this helps someone who may be just looking into who to use in Mexico

  6. Anyone out there in October? I would really like some surgery buddies, though you don't have to be in October per say. Having someone to go through this with would be awesome. I can get in my own head easily, so I would love words of encouragement, advice, etc.
    Hi Cherylmilla,
My date is tomorrow the 4th in Mexico. I'll try to share how it's going if you'd like.
