  1. Try not to compare yourself to others and what they’ve lost. It’s different for each person. You’re doing well with your exercise. Just keep true to a good eating plan and you’ll continue to do well. You’re doing great!
  2. Hi, all. I’m one year post-surgery, and I need to start taking a fiber supplement. I wanted see what fiber supplements that people use that don’t cause excessive bloating. Thanks in advance!

    Fiber supplements suggestions

Thanks to all. I’m going to try Benefiber for now. I may also try the milled flax seeds, as I like homeopathic methods.

    2020 Surgical candidates

I only use one patch, and it’s a Vitamin D and Calcium patch. My other vitamins are in pill form. I only have to take a very good multivitamin, B-12, and Biotin. Every surgeon will provide different recommendations for what vitamins to take. I don’t believe vitamin patches are a “scam” at all, but I prefer to take mine in pill form.

    Weight going up

Please don’t do this to yourself. Don’t be disheartened. I’m a year post-surgery, and you WILL lose. You will have stalls occasionally and even some gains. It’s the same when people diet to lose weight. Keep doing all the right things and following your surgeon’s plan, and you’ll be losing again soon.

    Weight going up

I empathize with you. We all do. It can be frustrating to see gains, but they are a part of this journey. I have learned to not weigh every day, as others have mentioned. It was counterproductive.
  7. I had my surgery October 29 of last year. I’ve lost about 135 pounds, but it will definitely vary. My surgeon told me it would slow down some after about 6-7 months, as far as the rate of weight per week, and he was right. I lost about 80 pounds very quickly in the first 6 months, and my rate has slowed down a bit, but there really are many factors that can influence rate of loss. I have done a lot of weight bearing exercise, so I’m building muscle, so I can tel in certain weeks that I am losing more inches than perhaps pounds. Hang in there!

    Fiber supplements suggestions

I have difficulty tolerating foods with good fiber content, unfortunately. I still have an aversion to many of them, and with others, I have occasional nausea. This is why I need a fiber supplement.

    Nyquil.

Oh my goodness! I’m sure that was terribly painful.

    Fiber supplements suggestions

Thank you so much. I will try the Benefiber and look for The generic equivalent. Thanks for the warning about the Citrucel and Metamucil.

    Nyquil.

Also, liquid NyQuil contains alcohol, so it would take effect quicker in a bypass patient. Just a FYI.

Best exercise routines -100+ lbs weight loss?

I’m 1 year post-surgery. I do yoga 6-7 times a week and walk. Yoga has helped me so much as far as building core strength along with muscle, not to mention the numerous other benefits it has for mental and emotional health.

    Need encouragement during stall

Stalls are part of the process. The only reason you would want to consult your doctor is if you have one that lasts 4 weeks. 2 week-3 weeks stalls are not uncommon after gastric bypass. I have had 2 stalls: one lasted about 3 weeks. The other lasted for about 2 weeks. Follow the eating plan carefully, perhaps up your protein intake, drink more water if possible, exercise more if you can.

    Stinky Pee

Ketosis can cause your urine to smell differently, so that may be a reason.
