  2. Hi fellow October folks - Thought it would be fun to do a roll call and to see our surgery months/twins. I extrapolated as much as I could from our Surgery Thread but if I missed anything....feel free to cut and paste and repost and add your date. Good luck to us all!

  3. I'm October 1st. Wow, time has flown by. I started my self pay journey back in April and thought October 1st would never get here. Now, I have spent most of my time reading books, work books, YouTube videos, and mostly this forum for wisdom and insight for my upcoming journey.
OMG!!! I just ran out of coffee. I need to purge from caffeine and I start my pre op diet on the 24th. So, I have purchased some bulk organic black tea and caffeine free green tea. I will be mixing for the next few days until I get to Decaf status to avoid and "withdrawal" from caffeine. I don't drink much coffee, usually 2 or maybe 3 cups. However, my body may beg to differ with my summation of the caffeine debate. I am starting to pack as well. Oh yes...I am one of "those" people. Always way early and always prepared.
Well better go count my Q tips again (for the 30th time).

  4. Coming to the end of my 6 months supervised weight loss visits, per insurance requirement. Everything has been submitted to insurance for approval. Should have an answer in two weeks or so. If all goes well I am looking at the end of Oct for surgery. I would like to get to know any other sleevers or those who are on the journey to be sleeved. Needing a great support system/ friends during this journey. Feeling alone in this since I don't have the support from family at this time.

    Hi!
I too will need a buddy and hope that putting myself here will help that happen. I have my pre-OP apt next Tues! Woohoo! I'm done with all of my appointments! Phewww! I'm still nervous cause I think that this is not real until the day I actually check in for surgery. I hope to have an Oct date and have been going back and forth between the sleeve and bypass. I am already working on mindful eating and the 30/30/30. That is the hardest thing for me so far cause I want to immediately drink Water after I eat. Lol
Anyhow, I would love to keep on touch with u and wish u well on this amazing journey![emoji4]

  5. Hello, joining y'all. Just found out today I'm approved for Gastric Bypass. It's been a stressful journey where i initially wanted the sleeve but after research choosing the bypass. Yay! They said sometime in October and I'll have a definitive date next week.
    Hello,
May I asked what changed ur mind on the procedure? I am leaning on the Sleeve myself but am not 100%sure and still have time to make a final decision.
My pre OP appointment is on the 24th. Hope to have an Oct date!🤞

  6. Hey guys just wanted to share some more of my small but BIG victories for me as I went to my primary doctor today I was weighed like always and to my surprise I am 8 more lbs down I cant believe it 30lbs in almost a month with just three days to go until surgery day I am so excited and everyone around me is excited so it leaves little room for me to be nervous but I still am just a but but I do keep telling myself that the risk of not having the surgery are far greater than having it as of right now Im good to go so come on Monday!!!

Yayyyy! Super excited for you!! Woohooo!

  7. Here is the list I made preop, my weight loss bucket list as it is:
    1. cross my legs - check! I love crossing my legs now and do it all the time!
    2. sneeze without peeing - condition has improved greatly
    3. rock climbing - haven't tried yet, kinda forgot it was on my list
    4. run a 5k - currently training and looking for a race
    5. be comfortable wearing shorts and not just capris in summer - check! I never used to wear shorts, but now I have 3 in my new size and only one pair of capris
    6. buy a swimsuit that doesn't have a skirt - check!
    7. waterski again - gotta get to the lake this summer to knock this one off
    7. Sex. More energy for it, more fun positions to try - DOUBLE CHECK!
Some bonus things: I like being able to pop myself up to sit on counters, I can sit on the floor without hurting my hips, I can buy a much bigger variety of shoes because I no longer need wide widths. Unfortunately I'll need to replace all my wide calf boots because they look ridiculous on me now.
