  1. I know most surgeons differ on their pre op plans but I will tell you my surgeon differs patient to patient based on health conditions and BMI, I had to do 4 days of pre op and my friend who had her surgery a week later than me had to do 2 weeks and we had the same surgeon
  2. I was uncomfortable and had pain the first week, but once I bounced back it was full steam ahead. Maybe you are doing too much ? Your body needs time to heal, try an put your feet up this weekend.
  3. I can't speak for that facility but have seen patients on the message board say they were postponed based on the nicotine test even though they hadn't smoked in weeks
  4. I sometimes put a 1/4 of a banana in the blender with my in my protein shake, I also can do a few grapes or a half an apple sliced with some almond butter. For some reason I've lost my desire for citrus fruits and berries (hope to get that back) also will look forward to some watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe and honeydew once they are back in season.
  5. I took prior to sleeve and continue to take 20mg of Lexapro, consulted with GP and surgeon no issues at all for me
  6. How did you make out this weekend ? You can also do a shepherds pie with whipped cauliflower on top instead of potatoes, a ground beef or turkey chili with beans, I also make a pasta fagiola without the pasta but I add cooked ground beef instead. Just a few more ideas.....
  7. I'm with you, I feel hungrier every day, I also know what you mean about the ghrelin, I told my surgeon back in August that I think he missed the part that suppresses the ghrelin because I am still feeling hungry, I have been eating not only more in quantity of each meal but eating more often throughout the day and I'm afraid of having a major slowdown. I'm hoping it's just our bodies transitioning into winter mode and we all pick up where we left off before the holidays
  8. Also be creative with the eggs, deviled eggs, frittata, egg salad.....
  9. Be creative, anything you can do with ground chicken, ground turkey and lean ground beef, such as meatballs, burgers etc... I did chicken burgers with spinach and feta or broccoli and cheddar. Turkey meatballs with garlic and ginger, all good stuff
  10. That opens up lots of options, have you tried scrambled eggs, meatloaf, ground turkey taco meat, ricotta bake, roasted veggies ?
  11. Not everyone is on the same stage on day 23, are you on puree or soft food ? Tha answers will depend on that
  12. I pretty much plan a day ahead what my 3 meals will be, actually just 2 since one is a protien shake and what my 2 snacks will be. If I don't plan the day out I would definitely eat too much
  13. Yes, feeling the same way especially since Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  14. My team allows eating 15 minutes after liquids but no liquids until 30 minutes after eating. I started this on the puree stage
  15. Walk whenever you can, rest when your body tells you to, sip sip sip your water and protien shakes. Stick to the plan and enjoy the new you !
  16. you are doing great ! keep your chin up
  17. Congrats ! What a great feeling !
  18. My doc allowed rice after the 4 month post op mark, 1/4 cup brown rice
  19. That's why I planned my trip as soon as we were able to go, I knew somehow that moron would "F" it up for everyone. The country and the people there are beautiful I hope to go back when you know who is where he belongs wearing an orange jumpsuit to match his face
  20. Ropa Viejo there was great ! Shredded beef = protien. I was there 2 years ago and prior to surgery. Back then it was one serving for me, now I'd get 4-5 servings out of it. Enjoy !
  21. Yes and all good for me
  22. I know your comment was directed to OP who is only 8 days out but could a leak also pertain at 4 months ? Just pain the last few weeks
  23. I am 4 months out and my left shoulder has been in excruciating pain for a few weeks. To the point where I can't sleep. I did however have rotator cuff surgery about 3 yrs ago. Need to schedule orthapedic though if I ever want to sleep thru the night again
  24. Lol I've been claiming it since I was a teenager but now near 60 finally know it's true, made my day. I've also been using it for my kids too, the are not overweight but the scale #s have always been higher than they appeared. My girls are 5'8" and my boys are 6'4" and 6'5" I am thrilled with the validation
  25. Thanks for sharing ! This is a great article, I've been claiming "large frame/big boned" all my life, now I have written proof.
