  1. Hi to all my fellow UK wls buddies
I am nearly 5 weeks post op, and struggling to find a good Protein Shake that I like. My husband ordered me some Protein powders but I dont like the taste. Could anyone recommend a Protein Powder which has no flavour that I can add to Soups etc
How is everyone doing? I'm from london, is there anyone else around, that want to keep in contact to support each other? xxx

  3. Hi all, how are you all getting on? I had my gastric by pass on the 2nd July and I'm 4 weeks post, 3 weeks on liquids, 2 on pureed and 2 on soft food. I'm on pureed right now. I lost 14lbs in the 1st two weeks. I've been on a stall for 2 weeks. Would love to make some friends on here as I'm from the UK and bariatric surgery isn't popular or a talked about thing. So I'm feeling alone, I hope your all doing well. Xxx

  5. Hi Everyone,
    How did everyone's surgery go?
I am scheduled for my revision surgery (from sleeve to GB) on July 25th. I deal with GERD and also have a hernia that will be repaired. I am excited and nervous all the same time. But i'm on a new journey in life, I've started a new job and this is just another step in my journey.
I'm interested in hearing how my fellow July surgery buddies are doing. Thank you.

Wishing you all the best for surgery today. X

  6. I can tell you for me it is a struggle. I was ordered a two-week liquid diet. I know myself so I stretched it to three weeks so I could get a practice week in to help me figure things out. It is soooo hard - for me. I have tasted some Protein Shakes that I hate and two that I am now Ok with. I am taking it day by day.... 11 more days to go.
How are you getting on with it? I did 3 weeks liquid. I'm now on the pureed diet for 2 weeks.

  7. I made it to the full liquid phase of my post-op. Yay! I can have Soup. I was never so excited about Soup. I made Tomato Soup and thinned it out. I had 4 oz, ate it at a glacial pace. 20 minutes later the gurgling started and my new tummy revolted.
Am I just not ready for full lipids yet?
Hi when did you have your surgery?

  8. My surgery was July 2 surgery was fine but caught a horrible viral infection and had to be hospitalized. I'm still very ill and have to go on disability
Oh no! How are you feeling now? Have you got support around you? How are you finding the pureed stage? My dr said liquids for 3
weeks then two weeks on pureed, and then two weeks on mashed soft food. I hope your feeling better. xxx

  9. Hi all, newbie here. I'm due for bypass surgery in september. I was wondering how you dealt with the lead up? Did you have support from friends and family? If not how did you manage that? I've found all friends and family supported the idea but now it's become reality it's been very different. I'm very much on my own and frankly, bricking it

    Hey hun
I am from the UK aswell, I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I don't have any support from family and friends, just my hubby. So I found this site. Where abouts are you in the UK?
I'm here if you need to talk. xxx

  10. Lucky for me I've been on my own since I left home at 15.. Sure I have familyand friends but don't rely on anyone.
I've learnt to be strong to only rely on yourself and of course you can ask ppl for support or to talk to but at the end of the day this is your life.. Nobody else's!!!
And me I left home at 15. I agree

  11. Thank you all for your replies. I have found this whole experience pretty lonely, so it's nice to know that I can come here for the advice and support. It means alot.
I was put on a clear liquid diet for 3 weeks... I'm now on the puree stage for 2weeks then mashed and soft food for 2 weeks.
    I lost 14pounds (1stone) in the 1st 2 weeks and stalled the 3rd week.
I'm on week 4 now, so looking for pureed food ideas.
    Thanks again xxx

  12. I scoured the forum for tips from people and came up with a revised list of things to try. I'll be adding to this and updating as time goes on but this is a lot to go on and gives me hope as I start my pureed diet phase this weekend. Enjoy !

    1. Eggface Ricotta Bake (google it)
    2. Green bean casserole (bariatric style) with canned chicken
    3. tuna casserole (bariatric style) with green Beans instead of peas
    4. Mexican beef with cheese or Beans with cheese (too carby for me--made me hungry too soon after eating)
    5. Broccoli, spinach or cauliflower pureed with light cream cheese, lemon juice, s/p/g (steam the crap out of it first)
    6. Smashed cauliflower with bacon and green onions (put in a food processor)
    7. Any Soup or chili made bariatric style
    8. Fish in foil pouches with lemon and spices/herbs.
    9. zucchini sauteed with onion, tomatoes and herbs and pureed--can add any kind of lean meat.< br> 10. yogurt/cottage cheese blends with berries.
    11. Pureed black Beans with a bit of cheese
    12. Yellow Split Pea Soup puree
    13. Buffalo chicken Dip puree
    14. Broccoli cheese Soup puree
    15. Pureed Chicken salad
    16. 4 Cheese mashed cauliflower
    17. Hummus - Roasted Red Pepper by Sabra
    18. Eggface Cottage Cheese Bake (sub out cottage cheese for ricotta + parmesan + ps mozza shreds + low carb marinara)
    19. Cottage cheese flavored with taco seasoning
    20. Progresso chicken enchilada soup with mashed cauliflower & ground chicken pureed
    21. Scrambled egg with a little milk and topped with a teaspoon of salsa
    22. Pureed Italian sausage with a little green and red pepper with Spagetti sauce
    23. Applesause (unsweetened) with a sprinkle of cinnamon
    24. Pureed Lentil soup with shredded cheese
    25. Shiitake mushroom pizza with ground chicken and pizza sauce and cheese on top - all put in blender. Sounds weird but really good

  13. Hi, I'm new to this app, so I'm unsure if I'm doing this all right.

I am 3 weeks post op, from having the gastric bypass surgery and wanted to make some friends, who have gone through it aswell. I could really do with the support, tips and advice.
