    Clothes?

I am 5 1/2 months post op and I am down 93 lbs since pre-op and 78 lbs since surgery. I was so embarrassed when my CEO said I really needed to stop wearing my big clothes. I immediately went out bought new clothes and gave away my old ones.
  4. Hi Dee. How are you?. You and I had surgery about the same time. I remember you from our September 2019 surgery thread. My surgery date was September 16th 2019 and I have lost 90 lbs so far. I had a two week stall similar to you recently which just broke last week. I even gained 2 lbs in the second week. However in the 3rd week I lost 6 lbs. Go figure. I have read and done so much research on stalls I was not really worried when it happened. I knew it was my body adjusting. The week right before the stall I started exercising and I lost 8 lbs that week. Then came two weeks of a stall and weight gain but I just rode it out and stuck to the plan. Plus I'm sure we are losing inches though its not being reflected on the scale. So when I see a stall I will get excited cause I know a good loss is coming because I normally lose 3 lbs a week on average. Hang in there Dee. Stick with the program and be patient cause you are doing great. Congrats on your weight loss so far. HW 342.8 beg of 2 wk preop liquid diet SW 327.8 Sept 16th 2019 CW 252.2 5 months PO

    USA Self-Pay Options

I also used Dr. Shillingfird in Florida. He was absolutely awesome. I paid a total of 10k which is all inclusive. Nothing more or less. I would pick him if had to do it all over again. FYI I travelled from The Bahamas.
  7. I am 5 and a half weeks post op. Had my surgery on Sept 16. I travelled from the Bahamas to Florida to have my surgery so needless to say I had a rental car which I drove and parked at the hospital. The day I was released I began driving. I did not feel tired at all and I listened to my body which is important. I was also in minimal pain so I was not taking the suggested pain medication every 6 hours. The day I was released I ensured that I did not take any meds until later that evening at the hotel. And I was able to drive every day after that with ease. So I think it was ok for me because I did not drug myself up on pain meds, but like I said it was mainly because I did not need it. Good luck on your surgery.

    Any September Sleevers?

Hey guys. I am sooo excited. I weighed in this morning and I am finally back in the two hundreds or as I call it "two-derland". I am 4 and a half weeks post op. Day of surgery I was 327.8 so that's 28 pounds lost since surgery. And at the start of my two week pre-OP liquid diet I was 342.8 so that's 43 pounds lost in 6 and a half weeks. In the beginning I struggled with the limited food choices but now I can eat everything except red meat and raw veggies/salads so it has become much easier. I weigh every single meal I consume and ensure it does not go over 4oz for the entire meal. I do not snack between meals and try not to eat too late. I noticed that since I started eating actual breakfast the weight loss has increased daily. Before I just drank my protein shake as breakfast. So maybe it's because my body needed more calories. I get in around 600-700 calories a day

Day 1 of my preop diet......

Linda, you got this girl. I just kept myself busy during the day and could not wait to eat at night. At nights I was able to have a 3oz chicken breast or salmon and a few ounces of low cal veggies like broccoli. That tasted like heaven to me because initially my surgeon said ONLY liquids. So I was very grateful. So keep pushing.

    Any September Sleevers?

Hey Linda. Whether the weight comes off fast or slow I have no doubt that you are going to be super successful. I really hope it continues for me as I go back to my very demanding job on Monday.

    Any September Sleevers?

Thanks Nikki. Yeah I need to experiment more. I should be cleared and ready for soft mushy foods on Monday /Tuesday which is the 1st of October. I started this journey on September 2nd at 342.8 pounds which was my highest weight and the day i began my preop liquid diet. Today I am 309.8, which is an overall loss of 33 lbs for the one month. My loss since surgey is 18 lbs which i started at 317.8. Surgery date was Sept 16th so its really been 12 days. Hopefully when I weigh in on Monday i will have an official 2 week post op loss of maybe 20 and and an overall loss of 35. We shall see.

    Any September Sleevers?

Can anyone who has had their sleeve give me some inventive options for liquids that is close to food as possible? I am do sick of regular liquids like the protein shakes and broth. If I see one more broth I'm gonna hurl. It literally makes me gag now Just looking at them. Haven't eaten them since I left hospital.

    Any September Sleevers?

Hey Nikki and Dee. I am doing well after surgery. I had gas pains but it was not horrible and did not last long. Fortunately I had no nausea so that was great. I am struggling a bit with getting in my liquids so I need to work on that. I can not wait for soft foods. It's like my body is so sick of the liquids so it makes me feel like not drinking anything. But I'm still trying to sip sip. Has anyone heard from Linda? Feel like I have not heard anything from her lately.

I'm not hungry... I want food.

The liquids suck and I feel extremely full in an unsatisfying way. The funny thing is I am craving real food but like healthy food like boil sweet potato, cabbage and carrots and boiled soft fish. Lol.

    Post-Op / Gas Pains

I had VSG on Sept 16th and I completely agree with you. I have found it extremely hard and difficult to burp and it was just sitting at the base of my throat. So on post OP day 3 I took a gas X pill and the gas was just passing through my body by the next morning. However I still could not really burp. And secondly yes, I am hungry and have cravings but after drinking only a few sips my stomach will spasm and i would feel full. But my stomach does growl like I am hungry. I discovered the beauty of hot tea on day two post op and it has worked wonders for me.

Guys I'm so nervous. Can't believe it's just about here. My surgery is in the morning at 10:30 in Boca Raton with Dr. Shillingford. I flew in from The Bahamas yesterday and leave next Friday. I'm praying I have no gas pains and nausea. Truly praying. Nikki congrats on you surgery. You did great. Linda you are almost there so keep pushing. I will let all you guys know how it goes tomorrow.
