  1. Congrats on your banding! We are just about neighbors. I am just up the hill from Temecula.

Help! I dont know whats going on!

Sounds like food is lodged trying to pass though. That's the feeling I get when I swallow too much or don't chew enough. But...just to be safe, call your doctor ASAP.
  3. I often forget I have this band inside me and I never feel my port unless I intentionally press down to feel it. However...right after I had surgery, I was emailing everyone I know telling them I wished I didn't do the procedure. I was in so much pain I was delusional. Once that subsided, I started feeling better and better! Now, I feel like a million bucks! I too, worry about it lasting. I am terrified of having to live without my band (if something were to happen to it)!!

    Weight loss slow

Everyone is different. I'm 6 months out & just recently started really slowing down on my weight loss. It has steadily come off since I came home from the hospital. I have had to excerise to keep it coming off though. If I don't workout, the scale sits at a standstill. I also weigh myself daily to make sure I am not gaining. I'm a snacker and have to really watch how much and what I snack! Cheez-it's are my weakness. They go right down and I can eat a lot of them!
  5. Here is a new updated photo of my progress. I'm losing much slower as I get closer to my goal, but it's still coming off!!! I LOVE my Lap Band soooooo much!!!
  6. GREAT POST! Had I written a list pre-op, I would have written A LOT of what you did! Good luck tomorrow!
  7. Not embarrassed whatsoever! I haven't kept my surgery a secret either.
  8. I burped a lot initially after surgery. I agree, you need to follow your doctors specific guidelines. Mine required me to do clear liquids for 2 weeks after surgery. That meant no V8, no shakes, etc... Clear broth, crystal light, Water, SF Jello were a few of my options. But...every doctor is different. Did yours give you anything to follow for post-op?

    popcorn

Popcorn is a never fail food for me. For some reason my band loves it! Never causes me a problem.

    No more pickles??

i agree with the others. try the pickles later in the day when u are more open and chew, chew, chew. I eat pickles and popcorn all the time without any problems!

    Unjury Protein Powder

I love the chocolate and the vanilla is OK. Hate the other Unjury flavors.

    What was I Thinking?

I felt horrific for the few few weeks post-op. I kept telling everyone I wish I didn't do it. If it would have been an option I probably would have had the doc remove my band that first few days post-op. Everything HURT...I was miserable!! Then I started feeling better as far as surgical pain and had EXTREME fatigue. I could barely keep my eyes open after working for a few hours. Once I started eating more, things got MUCH, much better and the pounds began falling off steadily. Now if I am asked, I don't hesitate to say I would definitely do this again! I am re-newed and feeling amazing! Give your body some time to heal.

    compliments

Everyone and their mother notices my loss and they all want to know how I did it. I wear very fitting clothes so maybe that's why?

    Keeping it a secret?

My loss is immediately noticed & I KNOW the next question is…how I did it. I tell everyone who asks that I changed my eating habits, started working out and got the lap band. I have no shame in it and I like to educate people about it! I have a few co-workers who are now interested in the procedure & 1 who is on her way to surgery very soon!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

    medication

My doc is fine with me taking pills that will go down. I just make sure to take them before I eat and flush them through with plenty of Water. If you are talking about the Tylenol Easy Swallow pills, I take them without any problems. Check with your doc first though.

    Port - Friend or Foe?

It will go away. I had to wear very low waisted loose jeans for the first few weeks post surgery and they still aggravated my port incision. By 8 weeks pot-op I didn't even realize I had a port unless I pressed down on the spot.
  17. AliNSanDiego

    Can you feel it?

I don't feel mine unless I press on the spot.

    Creative Mushies

One of my favs when I was on mushies was refried Beans mixed with a little salsa and topped with fat free cottage cheese or fat free sour cream. I also put Chili in the blender. meat and all. It was VERY tasty!!
  19. Banded July 9th. I was 228 on surgery day and now I am 185.

    Oh Crap!!!! HELP

Don't worry. I am sure you will be fine. When I have something stuck, I KNOW it's there. Do you have a lump feeling in your throat? If it were me, I would call my doc to let him know and in the meantime, try drinking a bit of 100% pineapple juice. The acid from the juice should break the gum down if it is stuck. As far as the negative people replying to you.... Do your best to ignore them. Anywhere you go in life, there will be negative people. The good always outweigh the negative though. Good luck and keep us updated on what your doc says. P.S. I chew gum all the time & I did swallow a piece on mistake about a month post-op. It went right down.

    Anyone else have this problem?

My problem is opposite! My stomach shrunk down nice (yes, I am wearing all those cute baby doll tops) yet my legs are still huge. I'm hoping jogging will help with my legs.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Everyone loses in different places first. I have always had a smaller upper body and larger bottom. So, the bottom is taking a lot longer to GO AWAY...! I can't complain though. 60+ pounds gone (size 20W to a 12). Try adding some extra abdominal exercises to your workouts.

Foaming - Feel Like a Rabbid Dog

I was filled to tight last week. Same things happened to me... Foaming from the mouth, feeling like I was choking on my own saliva and I could only get down hot water. I tried to tough it out to see if I was just swollen, but after 4 days of very little water and no food/nutrients I knew I was way too tight! .5cc was all it took to give me relief.

    3rd fill - Sliming water

I had my 3rd fill this past Thursday. I ate some FF chocolate pudding a few hours after my fill. NOT a good choice. Caused major pain and vomiting/sliming all night. Went to all clear liquids since, but now I can't even keep water down unless it's HOT and only small amounts at a time stay down. After drinking something that just wont stay down, I spend hours sliming. I'm holding off till Monday to call my doc hoping I am just swollen and this will subside. If not, I will need ER surgery to fix the kink in my tubing since fluid can go in, but not come out. ARGGGG!!!!

    3rd fill - Sliming water

got some MAJOR RELIEF after seeing my doc today. By maneuvering the port where the kink is, he was able to pull out .5cc's. It made a world of a difference for me. I was just FAR too tight. I am now drinking all liquids!
