    Hello my August Sibs!![emoji112][emoji112]

I also hit a stall at week 4 and 5 and much as I knew this and even expected it, it can be so disconcerting!!! But sure enough between Friday and this morning (I'm a weekly weigher but got on the scale this am for no reason) and I'd lost 4lbs!!!!! For a 27lbs lost since surgery! I'm in the 180s and I tell you it's been a while and puts some pep in my step!!
I'm officially 6 weeks and was at the gym this am for spin and muscle classes and my energy is through the roof!!![emoji119][emoji119][emoji119]

I hope you are all doing fantastic and please share your peaks and valleys!!🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Hi August pals! So glad I check in and read about stalls! Oy vey! For weeks I’m stalled. I have lost 30 lbs since surgery but scale hasn’t moved in weeks! NSV 32” lost overall & I’m wearing some of my smaller clothes. My closest goes from size 5 to 2x.... no kidding! Ha! Sleeved 8/19/19 235 59 years 5’3. Hope everyone is adjusting well to the new way of life ❤️

  2. Hi! Joan from Long Island, NY. Had sleeve 8/19... 30 lbs down .... 32” inches. Glad you ladies mentioned stalls because I AM!! It’s sooo frustrating when I feel as though I’m doing everything “right”. NSV fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in a few years & feeling healthier over all. Started: 8/19/19 235 5’3 59 yrs young

Chiptress, definitely the hormones!!! Gentle hiking for steps has helped me significantly!! Try getting out even if it's to the shops to get steps in and be out of our heads or away from triggers makes a difference.
Just know it should settle soon. Always talk it out and don't bottle your emotions and let family members know it's not personal (as hard as it seems) rather par for the course.

About That sushi, BRAVE woman you!!!!!!!lol!! I've been beyond petrified about going off plan!!! No rice, bread, carbs, sugars etc for the next 5 months or EVER!!
I hope you start feeling better and it's a lesson learned. Dust it off, no permanent damage and back to plan. That's the great thing about this tool! It's very easy to "Ctrl Alt Delete".

Hope you start feeling better mood wise too!! It's A LOT but we'll prevail [emoji8][emoji8][emoji8][emoji7][emoji7][emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]🧡[emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176]

Thank you so much for caring enough to weigh in. I definitely won’t do the sushi thing again. In my house there’s always a variety of restaurant food & I simply lost it & dove in. Since then I’m pretty much back on Protein Drinks & not wanting to put much in my stomach. This is a process

Hiiiiii. Super slow loser here. It’s really disheartening when you’re eating like 600 calories a day. I’m meeting Protein and fluid goals. I lost more in my 2 week full liquid pre-op diet then I have since surgery. Surgery was 8/14, I’ve lost about 16 lbs. In one month! 😢😢 Total loss including pre-op is 32 lbs.

I hear you! It’s frustrating I’m eating, drinking 350 & 500 calories & I’m in a stall 3 weeks out. I did take my measurements & I’m down inches. Take some measurements & you might be surprised. I can see in my clothes I’m down more than the 20lbs thT The scale shows

  5. Ok... slightly depressed. I’m aware the hormones are at work. Just needed to remind myself. Snapping at family when I didn’t need to be. I’m not getting out much but I should probably push myself a bit. Today my stomach has been uneasy because I ate something last night I shouldn’t have. 19 days out I’m paying for it. I piece of a sushi roll!! Omg.. tasted like the best of anything I have ever tasted but I learned a lesson. Now is not the time. Have you felt down after surgery & what do you do to switch it around?

12 days post op (surgery 8/21)

Question......I seem to be able to drink my Water normally now, no concern of slow sips. Are others like that too? I’m still full liquids so most goes through fast, but I’ve not had any feeling of fullness or anything like that.

im assuming maybe that starts when food is introduced???

My surgery was 8/19/19 & at this point I also can drink Water & all Clear Liquids normally with no issues. Here’s the ricotta bake I made.

I did use lighter cheeses. I served it to everyone at home over Pasta with sauce & mine was puréed. Everyone really enjoyed it! I’m loving tuna salad puréed & chili with cheese! Enjoy your puréed stage.

I was running behind schedule and was afraid I was going to be late to my post op appointment. I arrived five minutes before my appointment. I advised the medical assistant that my blood pressure was probably goin g to be through the roof. She took my blood pressure and it was 103/71. I have never, ever had a blood pressure reading that low. I am on three blood pressure medications. I have been monitoring my BP all week and they are consistently in the one hundred over high sixties or low seventies. I had heard that many people stopped meds after surgery but I was never expecting it to happen so fast.

I had anticipated having my surgery in February but some unforeseen circumstances caused me to have to wait and I did not have my surgery until August 19th. My last visit with my PCP I had managed to lose 27 pounds. At my pre-op appointment had managed to lose another 8 pounds. Then with the two weeks of pre-surgical liquid diet and the two weeks of post surgical liquid diet, I have lost a total of 67 pounds. I haven't been this light in at least 25 years!

Today for the first time since my surgery, I was able to ride my recumbent bike for a full thirty minutes. It is amazing to me that I feel so wonderful after such a short recovery period.

We’re surgery twins! Sorry about your BP! I developed high BP this past January & that was just 1 reason for the surgery. A nurse taught me to have the person taking your BP to wait a few minutes before taking it. Have them do paperwork or whatever else has to be done and then.... take the BP! Congrats on your weight loss! Wow! That’s awesome. Since surgery I’m down 20 lbs & I’m excited with that. And like you.... I feel pretty darn good!! I’m not allowed to exercise yet until I hopefully get cleared in 2 weeks

Congrats! And...same here. I just started my soft foods on Thursday, and then last night - just for a moment, but still - I forgot about the "30 minutes before and after" and had a sip of tea right before I started my little bit of Cream of Wheat. I immediately was like "D'OH!" but it was okay I guess bc it had only been a little sip. Still, it kinda scared me.

What I'm doing now is starting my phone timer 30 minutes before I know I should eat, to stop drinking. Then when done eating I set my phone timer for another 30 minutes to let me know I can drink liquids again. Hope that helps!

I too use my timer too! I find it’s a great tool

Hi all... RnY bypass on 8/26/19. Would love to hear all the tricks on making sure to get all the Water and the Protein Drinks in and still adhere to the waiting 30 mins between eating and drinking. I struggled today and would love to know how everyone does it.

    Thank you!!

Hi there! Had sleeve 8/19/19 & I’m getting all Protein & fluids in. I drink my Protein Shakes for meals. And all day long I sip on ice cold Gatorade 0 with a packet of Protein Powder in it. I also do premier flavored water. For Snacks I have different broths & strained soups!

Hi everyone. I’m 1 day post op vsg August 27th!!! I only did clears for 2 days prior to surgery and then clears the day of surgery post op. The next day and for the next two weeks I’ll be doing full liquid. I was not expecting to be so nauseas and in so much pain. I was actually regretting the surgery. The nausea was pretty bad. Luckily they save me anti nausea and pain medications. Post op day 1 everything is so much better. I didn’t really get much of the gas pains people talk about. I’m already home just spent 1 night in hospital. So far I’m so happy I did this.

    HW 267

    SW 260

    CW ? I’ll check in 1 week.

Congrats! Glad you’re doing well. I had sleeve 8/19/19 & every day gets better & better!!!

  11. Happy day today! Omg!! I’m 12 days out (8/19/19 ) & today I actually feel better than I have in I don’t know how long!! I have energy & a positive outlook. 14 lbs down so that’s another plus. I’m realizing just how depressed I’ve been for awhile now. Because of Being overweight & physically uncomfortable I slowly started dropping out of life. I am looking forward to jumping back in with both feet when I’m able!
I stated cooking today for the puréed stage. I’m going to make the ricotta bake (then of course purée it). tuna salad, chili, scrambled eggs with low-fat cheese, . Etc etc. Hope all my August pals & everyone else is doing well & enjoying the holiday weekend !! Joan

  12. Congrats to everyone doing so well with weight loss & becoming healthy! That’s so amazing & I can’t wait to be healthy again. You know what I don’t get? Why anyone feels that they need to offer their option unless it’s asked for. I think other people have entirely too much to say & they should mind their own business

So sorry. Yeah, the rollercoaster of "love" (or hate) is a real thing. LOL. And hangry happens! ;)

Ha!! Forgot about the “hangy “ part of this. Since I’m home watching more tv than normal I can not even believe all the food ads! I was craving a pork sausage for 2 days. Now I want a meatball with cheese on it! CANT WAIT TO BE DONE WITH liquids & on to puréed foods! Please oh please!!!! 😂🤣😂

I will be 2 yrs out VSG this coming October. I’m down from 311 to 141 past my goal if 150. I’m obsessed with not gaining weight back. Still weighing myself daily and to the point that I will force myself to vomit if I think I’ve eaten something “bad”. Anyone relate?

Congrats on your success! You must look & feel amazing.
I get you’re wanting to hold on to what you’ve accomplished. I’m sure I’ll be protective of my weight once I get there. You made the choice to do this surgery so you’d be healthy . Health includes mind, body & soul. I started therapy as soon as I made the decision to embark on this journey because I wanted to be the best version of myself. I’m sure you want to be the best version of yourself or you wouldn’t have written this post. If I were you I’d start therapy. I kind of really like it. I get to talk about myself for 45 minutes to someone who actually hears me. What’s so bad about that? Ha!!! Best of luck. Make the decision to be your own best friend ❤️

  15. My surgeon warned me that I could feel a little depressed after surgery . Well... I’m not feeling necessarily depressed but so frustrated with everyone around me. My patience is at an all time low. I rarely fight with those at home. Typically glass 1/2 full type of girl. My grandchildren moved out 1 year ago so it’s just the 4 adults left here at home. I’m the one who has for the last 10 years been the “mommy” to all of us. I run the day to day “operations “, do all the cooking shopping etc. I’m the matriarch of my family . In general I do feel frustrated with the others on a regular but yesterday I kind of blew up... 1st yelling at them.... then crying. Holy moley !!! THATS NOT TYPICAL. Honestly I was a little justified because I wasn’t getting some of the help I needed but my delivery was definitely out of character!
So yes.... we can have have some emotional upheavals . The temporary hormone changes are real!!
On a positive.... today I’m one week out from sleeve & down 9 lbs. I’m getting better every day at taking all my meds. For a few days that was rough. I’m getting in my Protein & my fluids.
Thank you all for listening!!! 👍👍👍

It's a great trade!!! I'll take having my life back over eating rich fulfilling meals any day. :) But saying that, my meals are DANG tasty and satisfying, just very light and nutrient dense.

My long term goal is exactly what you said tasty & satisfying but very healthy. Man... dumb head hunger!! How far out are you FluffyChix?

And in my mind I want a Pulled Pork sandwich with Barbeque sauce- this from a woman who had a bite of bread ball up and nearly do ME in. But, true, there is some much left to do I Often Multi- task, Well? Alas--- the jury is Out on That One!

Ha!!! I wouldn’t even be able to eat a sausage & you wouldn’t be able to eat the pulled pork! It’s just the thought of real food that’s hot , full of flavor & comforting . Truth is.... I’m in for the long haul I will eat like the smallest amoeba so that I can have my life back. 😁 I want a Wonderful healthy life where I can be active & might as well throw in some great outfits & look cute in the process!!!!! (Still want a sausage 🤪)

I'm so glad to know that I am not alone. 3 weeks out on Wednesday & I don't have issues swallowing. I got to wondering if my pouch is bigger than normal since I have no issues? Could this be why? or am I just paranoid?

Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

On my paranoia list this morning 5 days out from sleeve is am I taking in too much to fast? For my shake I’m finding I take a mouthful that’s actually 2 gulps. I do this every few minutes. My fear is stretching my small stomach. That’s only with the shake... Water & Protein water I sip. In my life I’m always the fast one doing things quickly, moving quickly, getting things done quickly then on to the next. I’m not the type to relax much. While watching tv I’m always doing a few things at the same time. As long as I know that there won’t be any long term ill effects from my drinking I can relax hopefully. I do have a little burping & a little heartburn going on but I was just made aware of a hiatal hernia that was repaired during surgery. Someone here (forget who) said they asked their surgeon if they could do long term damage by drinking a little faster & was told no. I want to do things correctly because I want to maximize my chances of the highest weight loss possible. On another note... head hunger is real. I want a big fat juicy pork sausage! Hahaha!!!!
