How often will you see your doctor? Since my surgery was in Mexcico, my family doc is handling aftercare. I saw her Monday, one week post-op, then labs every 3 months.
I go back in a month and then he said to call today for an appointment with my GP to adjust meds. My BP was high yesterday so I doubt he’ll take me off BP meds yet. Who knows. I think it was white coat syndrome if you know what I mean.

Same. Went to post op today and the doc said that’s about to change when I start eating soft food.

No it was a glue.

I wasn't throwing up, just couldn't stomach the thought of anything. It worked well and now that I can get some calories and carbs in, I feel so much better with more energy.
I think it was sugar free Syrup with the sugar alcohols that set me up for a really bad weekend. Staying away from that !
I'm still not on soft foods but enjoying a variety of Soups and baby food.< br>
I know many plans have people avoiding carbs and sugar but I'm not one of those and man, do they make you feel better lol

This looks amazing. I start soft food in two days but they said to go slow. I’ll print this off for two or 3 weeks from now.

Went to the doctor today for my 1 weeks check up and he is super pleased. Called me an “easy case.” He asked if I’d been taking pictures- and I have and he told me to do a side by side and submit it. This is one week preop and one week post op- so two weeks apart. Same shirt. Same sassy attitude. About 13# difference.

I week out from RNY. Two weeks of liquid diet and Keto found my ankles but one week after surgery gave me an even bigger blessing!!!
I haven been able to wear this comfortably in about two years. Now I’m scared to wear the dern thing because I’m so used to the silicone bands I’m afraid I’ll ruin it! At least it fits!!!

Surgical preference I guess. I have 6 incisions- on just below my bra line and one about 2 inches below and to the right on my BB.

Just now, ChrisXStitcher said:Wow!! Looks real good for 1 week PO. And your side by side - already what a difference!! I am still very bruised (robot-assisted RNY 1/28). Mine is ugly as I've had multiple abdominal surgeries, laparoscopic and full open, so they had to pick and choose where they made their incisions. Might be the robot side that's so bruised, but don't know. Best wishes to you and happy healing!!

Thanks! I’ve had my appendix out, 2 c-sections, and a hernia surgery. What hurts the most is all the scar tissue the surgeon cut out from previous surgeries.

15 minutes ago, Taj said:I wear a tank top under my shirt. It soaks up the Vaseline and also gives the incisions some extra protection from the waistband on pants. Washes right out of the tank tops. I have one tank top for each day.
Mine has glue- no Vaseline to worry about.

I’m from the south- we never know what we will get in winter! The saying is- don’t like the weather then wait 10 min!

I did that along the way. My therapist recommended doing one a week so it’s more like a cheat meal than a freak out. Than I could enjoy the meal and not feel guilt. I get really sick on Keto (which is what my preop liquid diet was) so I decided to start Jan 2 eating keto food so that I can get over the keto flu before going back to work. On Jan 13 I started liquid and it went really well. My surgery was Jan 27, so I’m a week out tomorrow. My doctor said my liver looked really good, but I had been doing keto for almost a month (he has us do keto to shrink our liver).
I say all that to say this- BE CAREFUL. Going crazy over food will make you feel deprived when you start liquid. Say goodbye and make peace with it but don’t binge.

i had a severe increase in pain at that area post bypass. They hang you upside down on a table during surgery. My surgery was 5.5 hours long. I am thinking that is what aggravated my back. I can’t normally even lay flat on my back while conscious. My pain is getting better each week I get out from surgery. I hope that the same happens for you.
Seriously? Wow. I just thought it’s because I’ve been sleeping in the recliner instead of on my side. Hmmm I’ll ask Tuesday.

Remember this is mental. We are surgery twins! So get this- my mom is here to help and brought 4 boxes of little debbies with her and then proceeded to bake a cake with my kid. Wonder where my issues come from lol. If you aren’t hungry then it’s a mental battle.

Welcome to the fam. Read up so you know what to expect but don’t let them scare you- everyone is different! Take lip balm and eat your ice chips. Also walk walk walk!

Walk walk walk! As soon as you can get up!! They pump you full of gas and walking helps it work it’s way out.

Anyone else out there have permanent equipment in their body? Screws, rods, etc? I had bypass 1/27 and with preop diet and surgery I’ve lost 31# since Dec 26. This morning I woke up and the titanium rod I have in my back was sore- much like when I first got it. It’s been sore all day! I’m going to mention it at my 1 week check up Tues but I thought I’d ask here if anyone has had similar pain. It’s almost like it’s moved and scar tissue hasn’t formed around it ... anyway, just checking....

Me too. I start soft foods tomorrow and we are surgery twins. No purées here! I’m tired of liquids. I meal prepped today and even put everything in 1/4 cup servings. It’s sooooo small!! My doc told me to go get baby spoons and that’s what I am starting with.
