  1. If you know the group to be helpful, then maybe you should go. Personally, though, I got my band and vowed to never diet gain!!! And I haven't. I don't think you need a group to tell you to pick a chicken breast instead of a big mac. I do realize though that some WW groups are better than others. I have never been to a good one. If it's just modivation you need then just come here, it's cheaper!!
  2. .............I wouldnt be nervous or worried. I would be 'out of my mind' excited. Oh, and yes, woulda like to have done it 20 years earlier!!
  3. Sorry to hear about your housing woes!!! I'm missing out in soooo much here. I've been sick with like the 6th kidney infection this year!! I'm pissed and upset, cause I can't get at what I want to do. But I'll be back!! Don't y'all forget about me. Hopefully I be back and caught up this weekend. Take Care!!
  4. Mandi, you look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Woo, Hoo!!! '1year'!!!!!
  5. Okay, my story... I love Dr. C.....and I loved Marie. That's why I am happy with my surgery and experience. I felt absolutely and totally trusting of both of them. Thats why I went there for my surgery. Having said that. I find that things get a little confusing around the office. I feel that they need to tell a couple of the secretaries to smile. The pre-op and post-op diets should be more specific and detailed in booklet form, or something to refer to 1000 times. I am EXTREMELEY happy with my experience, and would recommend Dr. C to anyone. But, since you asked.........
  6. Welcome to Bandland!!! Hope all is well!!
  7. The posts here are great. Bandiva, I try to get myself everyday to relax, do my best, and take one day at a time. Notice I said 'try'. We are all guilty of being too hard on ourselves. I think the goal is to 'just live each day the best you can', some days are good, some aren't. Cut yourself a break, give yourself positive reinforcement when you do something good, and try your best. I think the worst thing we can do to ourselves is beat ourselves up, that in turn just makes it worse. Let's face it, we could all die tommorow, so enjoy today!!!! The band WILL work, in the end, you'll get there. Let's just all enjoy the ride, and the fact we live in a era that has IT!!! About your fill, when I went from .9 to 1.4 I felt that huge. When I went from 1.4 to 1.6 I felt that . When I went from 1.6 to 2.0 I felt nothing, I was really surprised. Then went I went from 2 to 2.5, that was big too, I'm good for a while. Every fill is different, and can act differently through-out the time you have it. Give it a few more weeks, then even though I know it's a pain, go for another fill!!
  8. I also use benefibre, it is awesome in or on anything!!! robgoblins, try to get a list of patients that the doc has done. Talk to them about their experience, or ask them if any of them are online. Maybe there's a cluster of them, just somewhere else in cyberspace.
  9. Welcome Delphine!! Congratulations on 51 lbs!!!!!!
  10. Oops, I thought your bandaversary was on Saturday, sorry.
  11. Don't worry about how tight you are if your still losing. THats's the main thing. I hate it when I hear that some people lose weight by just having the band in, like a mental thing or something. I am not that lucky. My band has to remind me every day that it's there.:phanvan
  12. Gaffer, sounds like a good fill. Did you watch???? Just curious. I don't mind fills, but I can't watch. BTW, your little hula girl, had better have duracells, she's already work'n overtime. Your doing FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
  13. ----------------------- Awwwwwe, welcome Mister Yoda , We're a friendly bunch round here as you know, reeeeal friendly :eyebrows: :eyebrows: . Whoops, I forgot Mrs. Yoda can read this too!!! :guess
  14. Ha, Ha, I agree. You'll never win with this guy, who cares about him. Do your own thang!!! ------------------------- So after getting everyones advice on the buffet issue, turns out yesterday was my 'eat day'. Yes, my finicky band decided after being very tight all week, it was time to eat. Good timing, eh??? So I went to the buffet and ate more than I probably ate all week togther, and enjoyed, ahhhhhhh. Having said that, I still ate way less than anyone else at the table, but it was heaven for me. Thanks for everyones info!!!
  15. A little NSV to add. Yesterday I was in a craft sale. In other years I just dreaded taking all the boxes in and out of the van after the sale was over, I usually tried to get my husband to come and do it for me. Yesterday, not only did I quickly load up my van, I helped two other older vendors with their stuff, and was never out of breath!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!
  16. Yes Mandi, but we need a drumroll thing happening here. You've got a "1 year" bandaversary coming up. I think we all need to meet here for a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We want LOTS of pics!!!!! See, we'll get a band:drum: :note: :note: We'll get pizza:pizza: :pizza: I'll bring the beer:beer: And we'll ALL dance and celebrate, Mandi's band it 1year old!!!
  17. I believe OHIP will pay for some patients, but I don't believe all surgeons work for OHIP jobs. When I asked about the plastic surgeon where I got my band (Dr. Lista), they told me they do not use OHIP, period. So, then I'm wondering if you get less qualified or cosmetically qualified surgeons if you go the OHIP way????
  18. Well, hopefully she'll ask the others in the office and get the facts. I don't think she should be answering questions if she dosen't really know the answers. Thats kinda scary. Ask for Sue.
  19. GAWD...I wish!!!!! -------------------------------------- I'm going to the racetrack tommorrow night with 2 other couples. We are going for dinner there too. They have a fantastic buffet there, it's very nice, but here's the delimma(?).............It is really expensive!!!! And it's not so much the money, but the principal of it. I want to tell or ask the waitress or manager that I've had surgery and I can only eat a cup of food. I'm not embarrassed to ask, and the other couples know about my surgery, but do you guys think it's wrong or rude to ask for a discount or something????? I was thinking about asking for a lunch price or a kid's price, am I being petty??? I can't eat $5.00 worth of food let alone $25.00. I need some opinions. ---------------------------------------- Oh, and yes I agree with the others Mandi. Wait a week, then see how you feel. Then again, if it was me, I'd be calling for a fill, but that's not neccesarily the right thing, I'm just very impatient. But, if you can wait a week, I would.
  20. Awwe, Good info, THANKS!!!!
  21. WTG!!! If you can master this when your kids are young, and you are young (27!), That is fantastic!!!!!! I wish that I knew about the band at 27. But alas, never look back.
  22. Best Wishes on your upcoming surgery!!!!! We're all excited for ya!!!!!:clap2: :clap2:
  23. I was (am) a hard-core food addict. But, I did alot of soul searching before my lapband, which I believe, most people do. I decided to really, I mean REALLY listen to myself to help guide me. As a mother of 3, you get use to not listening to yourself, or shelving your needs. When I turned 40, I thought enough was enough!!!!! I now listen to the very core of my being, which takes time to master, if you can ever master it. But I do find I'm making way better choices, and the decisions I'm making make me feel much better. I find myself doing things I use to do 20 years ago, things I forgot I enjoyed. Ex: photography, crafts, baking. Oh, my point is....yes I do believe it would be easy to go from one addiction to another. Our decision to get the lapband was a positive one. I believe everyone should have a good/positive plan to insert before we take away food. *I actually enjoy my food 100% more than I use to.
  24. Well ya know Yoda, I hadn't thought of that til ya brought it up!!! Hmmmm Yes, Bandiva, I am happy she's back. I was a little skeptical at first, but she seems to be making a good effort. So far so good. And yes, I sleep much better with all my chicks in the nest. Thanks for understanding. I think I must have named the thread the wrong thing, or said something weird about this thread. I only meant it to help eliminate all the individual threads we all have, it would be much quicker to read through. I fully expect others to read and post here, and want them too. That's all!!:phanvan
  25. I agree, I betcha it's nothing to worry about (band-wise). If it was your band the pain would be higher. And I think not much can go wrong with your port site this late in the game.
