  1. [mention=365410]niffer[/mention] I agree. This group is wonderful! And I know I wouldn’t feel so horrible normally but it’s the severe caffeine withdrawal for me that’s kicking my butt. From everything I’ve read, I should be feeling better by tomorrow. I’m so excited and ready to get this show on the road!!
    @Puffy-no-more you got this!!!

  2. Congratulations to everyone who has already gone! It’s so great to read your updates and be able to know what’s ahead for us who still have to go. I’m on day 2 of my 10 day pre-op diet. And I’m not going to complain. Yes I feel horrible but......I feel for those who have to be on liquids the whole time. I am able to have a little food on my diet so I don’t feel like I can really complain lol
good luck everybody! We’re doing this!!!!

I'm on day 3...in addition to liquids I can have either 2 yogurts or 1 yogurt and 1 Protein Bar. Not terrible so far but 7 days to go and then 2 days in Clear Liquids only!! This group is keeping me going, I love to check in on everyone's progress and encouragement. Everyone here rocks, thanks February Surgery Pals.
    Good Luck!

  3. I went to several surgical groups to talk to people who have had sleeve/bypass. 2 of the girls in the group have desk jobs and they said they returned to work within a few days. I also have a friend who did sleeve and she was back at work in the hospital within a week. I guess it just depends on how you feel. But the consensus seems to be from those I talked to that it's pretty easy to get back to a job, especially one behind a desk. Good luck. [emoji106]
    Thanks!!

  4. Another question for February sleevers...how much time did your surgeon recommend taking off work? Mine said two weeks. I'm going to take 7 days completely off (surgery on a Thurs, so 9 days no work, just rest) and then work from home the following week (14 days total at home.) I hope that is enough time to heal before returning to the office. I am mostly at a desk behind a computer all day, so not too strenuous. Thoughts?

  5. I'm doing really good, drinking my liquids well and slowly taking in cream Soups (1/8 of a cup is all I can get down) but it's oh so good!
Slowly I believe I am learning to know when my stomach is full; I do not want to over eat and get sick!
Drinking anything 30min before and after food, that's different because I would always drink with my food; change is good though [emoji4]
Good to hear!! Keep up the good work! I'm in countdown mode to 2/20...

  6. I am having to do the shots for 14days, they also had me wearing a DVT massager that I bought home with me, I try no I do move around hourly to keep from developing clots.

Shots for 7 days for me, I guess better safe than sorry. I think you're doing it right...move, move, move. How is everything else going for you?

  7. I'm scheduled for sleeve on 02/26. I am feeling ALL of the feels right now. Mostly I'm ready.
I could use some friends as I'm not really telling people about my surgery. I was approved back in November, but I got that notification the same day I got a new job offer so I asked to wait to schedule anything until I got settled into my new position.
I lost a lot of weight a few years ago when I took phentermine. I am looking forward to losing weight, keeping it off and not being a jittery rage monster like I was on the drugs. Also: weight came back fast.
All of my preop appointments and labs are done. I just need to make sure I don't get sick between now and then. I am super stressed about that.
I start pre-op diet on 02/12. I'm working on eliminating coffee right now- I'm told no coffee for six months post op.
I'm down to four ounces or less per day, but giving it up entirely is proving to be really, really hard. I'm planning to take three weeks off post op.

I'm scheduled for the sleeve on 2/20, my PreOp appointment is today! I understand exactly where you ate coming from, as I am not telling anyone other than my husband and mother. It's nice to see all the people on here sharing their stories and tips. It's even good to read about the struggles,we'll all have some! Good luck to you on this adventure!

  8. So I had my pre-op appointment earlier todat. My surgeon said the week before to eat low carb and the day before surgery i'll be doing liquids. Not bad at all in my opinion! He also prescribed a drug for nerve pain that I have to take the day before to minimize pain post-op.
That's not too bad at all!!! Great idea to keep the nerve pain down, all surgeons should do that. Good luck[emoji3]
