  1. Hey Brandy! Remember me? We were banded around the same time. I had lost 100 pounds and then had my band completely loosened due to too much restriction. After having it all taken out I moved another hour away from my doctor and on and on and didn't make it back to my doctor for 6 months. In the stress of everything going on I gained back 50 pounds. I'm not tight again but still struggling to get back on that wagon it seems. HELP!!!! You look great and I'm so proud of you!

  2. This is my big baby girl Liberty who I got on the night the war in Iraq started 5 years ago so I named her Liberty in honor of the troops fighting. The other is my big black kitty cat named L'Roar who thinks he's king of the castle. I love them both very much!

  3. I have been keeping an eye on the boards. You are all doing so great. I am currently about 101 pounds lost. I am 292 pounds (still can't believe I'm under 300!!!) and feeling really good. The last month I've slowed down on the exercise but I'm trying.

I'm so proud of our whole group! I still have a ways to go but I'm getting there at a good pace. My only issue is all the flab! I've never been so flabby!!!

    hehehe

  4. Liberty is my pure bred german shepard and Mason is my german shepard/lab mix. The pic's of Mason are first and Liberty are the last two. Two big babies that think they're lap dogs!

  5. Thanks for all the responses so far. I feel a lot less alone. I miss my mom a lot and she was always my biggest fan and cheerleader. Losing 100 pounds has been bittersweet. I believe she is looking down on me with pride but I wish so much she were here to say "you finally are doing it".

My mom loved down and today it snowed for the first time here and I stood out in the falling flakes and said "Mom.. it's snowing!!! Each flake is like a kiss melting on my face sent down from heaven by you!"

Lose Two Inches in Two Minutes?

Reality TV Doctor Creates New Line of High-Tech Slimming Undergarments

    Nov. 8, 2007 --

With so many "miracle" slimming products and procedures advertised these days, it seems possible to shed a few pounds without skipping dessert or sweating it out at the gym.

There are the trusty control-top pantyhose to the high-tech tights that claim to treat cellulite.

And some slimming tools are even built right into jeans. Lane Bryant tested 14,000 women to create the new Right Fit line that promises an instant trim for any body type.

Tummy Tuck jeans claim you'll lose a whole size in a matter of seconds.

Now, a new product designed by a plastic surgeon says you can lose two inches in two minutes for less than $60.

Robert Rey, a featured player on the reality TV show "Dr. 90210," has created the latest in high-tech undergarments called Shapewear, but he says it's not your granny's girdle.

Rey says his new line will instantly give the look of plastic surgery without the surgery.

"Any woman struggles with the lower belly," Rey said. "The control panels, which we created, are exactly where I put my support sutures in surgery doing a tummy tuck."

Shapewear follows in the footsteps of the hugely successful Spanx undergarments, which have squeezed and tucked everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Gwyneth Paltrow.

Actress Tori Spelling even burned hers on a barbecue grill when she reached her goal weight after her pregnancy.

ABC News' Andrea Canning put Shapewear to the test to see whether the product lived up to its claims.

A volunteer named Isabella saw her waist size go from 37 inches to 34½ inches a 2½-inch difference.

Monifa lost four inches around her waist and lifted her bust.

But where did all those inches go? Rey says Shapewear sucks in and then smooths out and redistributes problem fat to other areas to create an hourglass look.

"We just want to give women another option, another solution, another choice," he said.

The Shapewear line ranges from $25 to $60, and it claims to be extra soft because the fabric is enriched with aloe vera. The line is available at Sear's and the Home Shopping Network. A men's line is coming out next year.

  7. since the other thread got shut down by a bunch of bandsters gone wild I'll post my comment to Yummi here.

You said in the other thread "maryrose thanks for the advice i will look into more. I really was hoping someelse had tried it b/c it is much cheaper then the bodybug which i did consider. but at the same time, when is enough enoughl what other drastic measures do i need to take to lose weight. i need to join the challenge but i`m so slow i don`t know how to join the thanksgiving challenge. i`m computer illerate."

How are you comparing the bodybug (the arm band that keeps track of weight loss and calories etc) to taking Alli? I don't understand that. If you had the bodybug then that'd be used with exercise. Alli has nothing to do with that.

If you wanted bodybug then why don't you just set yourself up a workout routine instead of going on the Alli?

    Just curious.

Losing weight with lapband doesn't happen over night...but it does happen. You'll see

    Good luck!

  8. I'm always cold now. I never used to be. I could go around all winter with just a jacket when it's 10 degrees out. Not anymore. Layering is my thing! My husband thinks it's funny. I bake him out in the car. He has to roll down his window, then I get mad because there's cold air flowing in.

  9. Hello! I decided to start this thread because I lost my mom 2 years ago and it's still a struggle for me. I'm still grieving and at times I'm having a hard time sticking to the bandster rules because of it. With the holiday's coming up I can already tell I'm struggling.

Are there any other bandsters out there who've lost a loved one recently or a long time ago that is having a hard time or not looking forward to the holidays because you're just missing that person?

Maybe we can be supportive to each other! It's hard to find someone who's grieving and banded. Lets lean on each other!

  10. Hey Durga!

I went to Port Huron lapband center of Michigan and my surgeon is Dr. Boutt. I absolutely love him. I first went to the seminar down in Troy with Dr. Deol but then found out I'd have to fork out about 1200.00 up front before surgery for support group, etc. I didn't have that kind of money available at the time so I decided to attend some other seminars. I then went to Port Huron and had a seminar with Dr. Boutt. I knew immediately he was the right choice. Insurance covered my surgery and the only thing I had to pay was the consult fee and hospital fee which totaled $150. I feel very good about there being two doctors at the lapband center. I drive from Lansing and there was a day I got all the way there for my appt and Dr. Boutt was called away on an emergency. They called Dr. Bhesania, who was in Saginaw for a conference, and he said he'd come back and take care of Dr. Boutts patients. an hour and a half later he was there and gave me a fill and was very nice. I really love everyone at Port Huron and don't regret my choice at all. I highly recommend them!

I am very happy I didn't go with Dr. Deol because now she's moving out of state and leaving her patients to find a new doctor on their own. I'm secure in knowing at PH that if Dr. Boutt left I'd still have Dr. Bhesania there to take care of me.

Good luck with your choice! Lapband is the best thing I ever did!

  11. am I the only one that thinks this thread is rather judgemental? I have a very large bone structure. I'm 6'1" My goal weight is 230. So flipping what that I'm setting my goal at higher then what a BMI chart considers "Normal!" Screw normal! You lose weight to what YOU want to lose weight to and I'll lose to what *I* want to lose to and I'll be happy for you and you be happy for me. Stop worrying about other peoples goal weights. At least we're not staying at 393 pounds!

I think we all deserve a pat on the back for doing this at all! it's not been easy!

If I get to 230 and decide I can keep going then great... but if not then nobody else has a right to be judgemental about it and tell me my weight isn't NORMAL! And if I stop at 230 that doesn't mean I'm too LAZY to get my fat butt to a "normal" weight either.

  12. Ok everyone. I'm back! I had been staying away for a while because I was having marriage problems and wasn't losing much and the anniversary of my mom dying I just wasn't in the mood. But I got a fill and I'm losing again and now I'm back and I have FINALLY reached TWOTERVILLE!!! I can't believe it!!!

    I started at 393 in August 2006 and now I'm 297!!! YAY!!!!!!

I felt like I would NEVER get here!!! You've all been so inspiring!

  13. I had my surgery on August 3, 2006. I was 393 pounds. On Monday this week I got on the scale to discover 297 pounds! I'm FINALLY under 300 pounds! It's unbelievable to me! It's been about 13 years since I was under 300. I have 4 more pounds to make that 100 pounds lost mark! I'm really looking forward to that also.

The first picture was taken on December 18, 2006 on mine and DH's 2nd anniversary. The second picture was this past saturday at the Making Strides against breast cancer walk. I'm the super tall curly haired blonde in the fushia pink jacket.
