  1. Not sure how much the male/female thing makes a difference when it comes to urination but I didn't pee for two days after, but then the night of that 2nd day, mannnn, I was up every couple of hours having to go. Same thing the next night. I think it's starting to balance out now that all of the IV fluids are out....I hope anyway.
Relatable too. I was going every few hours. I figured the IV was finally catching up to me.

  2. How long did it take everyone to pee after surgery? I pee'd once right after surgery but now I'm having a hard time peeing. Dehydration maybe? I've managed 9 oz of Water since 12. I know I need more but ugh. And the left side of my body hurts so bad but honestly, this wasn't near as scary as I thought it would be.
I couldn't pee til hours after surgery but the next day I was going more normal, just with a bit of discomfort from the cath. that I had in during surgery. I'm 2 day post op and my left side is killing me but it's definitely still some gas stuck in there and also (tmi) I haven't had a bowel movement so I'm assuming that all plays a part in this discomfort.

  3. Hi everyone!
I just wanted to come on here and update you all. I'm a little over a month post op and doing great! In the first week or so after surgery I had a little nausea but it was easily managed with the medication my surgeon gave me.
In the last couple of weeks I've had two random incidents after eating eggs. I think it's because I wasn't paying attention and ate too fast but I felt this pressure pain in my chest and immediately knew I needed to throw up because I could feel the food stuck in my esophagus. Once all the eggs came out I felt fine and so far those are the only issues I've had.
My surgeon wanted me to take protonix for a month after surgery, I think that's their standard for all WLS patients and Friday was my last day taking it. I'm still in shock every morning when I wake up without pain in my chest from the reflux. Now that I'm no longer taking the reflux medication I actually feel like it's really gone. I'm so happy!
I hope you all are doing really well on you journey, whether pre or post op. :-)
I just had my revision from vsg to bypass yesterday. I don't remember the pain after my sleeve being like this. I am so sore and it hurts to move. Did you experience worst pain than vsg?

  4. I will go look for them. I thought Walmart carried the Premier clear but they didn’t have any. What’s the best place everyone is finding variety? I bought a ton of yogurt, Soups and sugar free pudding. I’m so ready for my next step. I’ve been lucky I guess. Had very little nausea. No vomiting. Just some tightness when I go a little fast. Just some pain in my incisions LOL I have follow up Friday.
I agree! Premier was way too sweet! The protein2o are delish!

  5. I got the call this afternoon. I check into the hospital at 10:30 am on Monday, 6/10. Surgery is scheduled for 12:30 pm. I’ll update you all when I am coherent! Pray for me and send good thoughts for a great surgical team, smooth surgery, no nausea and vomiting, no problems with gas, ability to walk and relieve gas, minimal pain from surgery and relief from arthritis with new meds post surgery, and smooth sailing with the post op diet. Excited and nervous and ready![emoji1276]️[emoji1488][emoji15][emoji16]
    Good luck!! [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2]

  6. Guess What???!!!!!
    I am back........
Surgery went well on Monday. I was discharged, yesterday.
I was so glad to get home and finally get some REST. I don’t how anyone is suppose to get any rest in the hospital is was SO NOISY.
Well for starters, on Monday, I came down with the worst case of Constipation, I had ever suffered. [emoji53] So, I called myself smart and ran out and purchased some suppositories the morning of the surgery. I thought I could just plop one in and I would be relieved before surgery. NOT!!!![emoji32]
Then the hospital called me and wanted to know if I could come in early!! OH NO!!! I will stay clear for nasty details but 2 days later, I was finally relieved of the problem. I can’t tell you how great that felt.[emoji2]
Anyways, I am doing good. Just resting and trying to increase my Water intake. This clear liquid diet is a BEAST!!! I won’t lie to anyone……. I am so looking forward to an egg, fish or even chicken, I won’t complain. Once, I pass my 30 day mark, I should be able to eat some real food. But until then, the liquids have it. Thank God for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu…..Between naps that is what is keeping me entertained. So the Purpledva is doing alright. I have my follow up visit on Thursday, the 13th. Btw, surgery weight was 217 which was a 2 pound variance from my home scale but I will take. And Post surgery weight was 222. Well of course, the doctor said,”We’ve just pumped you up full of gas and liquids…That’s expected”[emoji23][emoji23]
    Purpledva signing out.
    You’ve got this Funky JuneBunch
Glad you're feeling better! Hope you have a speedy recovery and lots of success [emoji1316]

  7. How many days do you have to be in the hospital? I only have to be there for a day as long as there are no issues. I have to check in at 530 the morning of surgery. My parents are driving me so that my husband and 2 younger kids can sleep in. I'm bringing my 9 year old because he said he wants to be there.
My surgeon says that they leave all wls patients for 2 days to monitor them. The hospital is going to call me the day Friday before surgery to tell me what time to be there, which I assume will also be early in the AM. My husband is going to drive me the day of and my mom is staying with my girls for a few days since he has to work.

  8. Welcome darlin!!! Your surgery is 2 days before mine. I started my liquid diet today and at first it was MISERABLE but since it's close to bedtime it isnt so bad. How old are your babies? I have 2 boys (9 &5) and a 2 year old little girl. I've explained surgery to the older 2 and my 9 year old is super excited because he knows that means I won't feel like death trying to play with him.
That's the most exciting part. The victories that involve our babies! My daughters are 6 and 3. I haven't mentioned my surgery to them but I plan to have a talk with them beforehand since we'll be away from each other while I'm in the hospital.

  9. So I didnt see a June thread and wanted to make one so we could all stay accountable and have a lot of good and bad experiences together!!! Introducing myself: My name is Kassandra, I am 27 years young, I have 3 great kids, a wonderful hubby, and 3 great cats. I'm a type 2 diabetic & have sleep apnea. I decided to do this to take my life back. I'm 5 ft 2 and 258 lbs. I had planned for the sleeve but my insurance won't cover it right now so RNY it is!

    *also posted on bypass board*
Hi! I'm Angie, 26 years old and Mommy of 2! I had the sleeve done in 2015, 4 months after having my 2nd child and my starting weight was 282 [emoji27] after vsg I got down to 197 lbs and started getting terrible acid reflux and then after my 2nd year I started regaining and now I'm currently at 229 lbs. Because of GERD I'm having revision to bypass on June 17th and I'm hoping for relief and to lose everything I regained and some! I'm currently on day 2 my pre-op diet and it's harder than I remember it being before my sleeve. I just need to get my mind on track.

  10. Weight loss is not necessarily slower with a revision, that is dependent on multiple factors Including your weight is at revision and how close to a proper Weight loss diet you are eating. Also a bypass has the added bonus of being malabsorbtive it isn’t just restrictive so that helps the weight to come off.
I had a band to bypass revision in Jan and my weight has come off quicker than when I was first banded
Yeah, I had never heard of it being slower but I dont know personally. I want the acid reflux gone more than anything but I plan on sticking to my diet and hoping for a significant amount of time this weight to come off. Thanks for your response!

  11. not sure about on this forum (although I'm guessing there are some on here), but there are lots of people who have had a sleeve to bypass revision (mostly due to GERD). Most of them I know of were glad they had it done since it resolved their GERD. Weight loss is quite a bit slower with a revision, though - but it can still be done.
    Oh ok, thank you!

  12. Hi all! So I had the sleeve done in Nov 2015 and due to GERD and some weight regain, I am having my revision to Bypass in 2 weeks. I've started my pre-op diet and was wondering for anyone who was sleeved then revised to bypass..is there anything I should know before surgery? I want to hear any experiences, success stories, regrets, etc? Thanks!
