  1. My initial goal, set by my surgeon and I, was 150-155. I made it there a few months ago and decided to shoot for “normal” BMI. Today I hit 142.8 which at 5’3.5” gives me a BMI of exactly 24.9. I think my plan for long term is to drop to 140, and then attempt maintenance in the window of 140-145.

Yes! So annoying! When I finally feel confident enough to wear fitted clothes suddenly all the styles are loose and baggy. The dress I bought yesterday was the only one in the boutique that actually had a fitted waist. Everything else hung like a sack.
  3. I’ve always had a good experience getting fitted at Nordstrom.
  4. Welcome! I’ve found this group to be incredibly supportive. There’s the occasional asshat that joins in, but they seem to realize pretty quickly they won’t get any traction here.
  5. My blood pressure now tends to run low so it’s a salt free for all for me :)
  6. Costco sells big bags of organic roasted & salted pumpkin seeds. They are delish!
  7. I eat much of the same thing most days of the week. Morning snack is a serving of roasted pumpkin seeds, afternoon is Dannon Light-n-Fit yogurt.

Damn. Hotness ?!!! You should totally wear it. To grocery shop, library, doctor visit. Whatever. Wear it!

No date tonight. I’m on a solo trip to Portsmouth, NH. I got dressed up to go eat dinner alone at a fancy restaurant in town. Either I’m an incredibly independent woman on an adventure on my own or sort of pathetic eating at the bar flirting with the bartender. After a second G&T I’ll know for sure ?

Me too. I married him. Didn’t turn out so well in the end ?

Super cute! I too have a long torso and can’t do rompers without getting an epic wedgie ?

New summer dress. I love being able to walk in to a boutique and know the clothes will fit me!
  13. I hope you’re right :( I’d really like to feel more comfortable in shorts and above the knee dresses.
  14. I have really been trying to accept them how they are, but I just can’t stand it. I probably won’t be able to have any further surgery until 2022 or even 2023, so have plenty of time to research surgeons and also try to just accept my legs the way they are. We’ll see.
  15. I’ve found that fountain soda in a drink with vodka and ice isn’t too terribly fizzy and I can tolerate a smallish amount. So rum & Diet Coke might work for you. Just let is sit for a bit to de-fizz.
  16. I realized I had never taken an “after” swimsuit photo. I’m so happy with my flat tummy, boobs and arms. Unfortunately now I’m a bit fixated on my thighs and am starting to research thigh lifts. I really wanted to avoid it, but think it will be necessary. The more I lose, the worse they look. Overall I’m thrilled but feel like I’ll need to get that done as my final piece of the WLS journey.
  17. Just took this after PS in a swimsuit photo this afternoon. As you can see both upper and lower belly bulges are gone :)
  18. Depends on how far out you are post op. I think either of these the things in small amounts and as an occasional treat are fine once you’re past your immediate post op stage. However, probably not good to have too much of this stuff while still in weight loss mode.
  19. The recipe is from the Skinny Taste website. Here’s the ingredient list. I sauté the onions & garlic first to soften them up and double the spices. Just brown the onions, garlic, and meat and throw it all in a pot for 30 minutes or so. It freezes really well too. 235 calories and 23g protein for a one cup serving. It’s really filling!
  20. Yes, there is a whole PS section. Lots of us here (including me) have posted about our experiences. Welcome, and congratulations on your long term success!
  21. Meal prep for my work week. Turkey & sweet potato chili.
  22. My recovery was surprisingly smooth. The first 2-3 days were rough of course, but after that I felt like each day was a big improvement over the previous. I went back to work full time at three weeks post op and felt great.

Eh, not the one. Nice enough guy but no spark there. It was a fun evening though.
  24. Yes I did. And I was just a few weeks shy of 51 when I had my surgery.
