I love bread...yummy, I hope we don't have to divorce. I have a healthy relationship with bread and I don't over indulge or eat the bad stuff. I like avocado and tuna toast with a cup of hot unsweetened tea, 💜. -
Nervous Excited Anxious Happy Sad - Surgery in 9 hours...
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Mark1107's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations and thank you for being candid. I'm a Kaiser / Options patient as well with great insurance (no out of pocket fees). I'm so damn nervous about the surgery and I have to be honest with myself in hoping that I'm doing the right thing for me. I have been on this journey since last year, September 17th, 2018 and feel in my spirit this is right for me. The fear of the unknown is consuming me now, will I look right, I'm not mutilating myself and I don't want to create health issues that I don't have. Giving this to God ( my personal belief) and knowing that I have Bariatric Pal to help me, you and others. January is coming up soon, please keep us posted on your accomplishments and progress. -
Hey everybody

Hi Deedee, We have to unlearn the concept of perfection, its not real. I wanted to lay on my butt all day today, but that wasn't successful thinking. Acting up my thoughts of doing cleaned my kitchen and prepared 2 delicious meals for me today. We have to push and ask ourselves what motivated you to end up helping yourself. Apply that same concept to getting things done, which is a reward to self. Did you embark on the journey to keep living life the same way or to cultivate new habits and experiences??? Your new body desires a clutter free environment, whatever exercise you can do, better food choices, hydration, a new comfortable sheet set to lie down on after along day. Do you see where I'm going with this??? Make your tasks smaller in your mind as a way not to overwhelm your own mind. -
Hey everybody
Krimsonbutterflies replied to chula313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will need support and if you can't get it in the physical form, watch a few inspirational videos (let it play in the background). Make a game of picking up a few items every half hour in your room. Once you start to clear your immediate space, clarity starts to creep in your mental. -
Obesity Help Conference- Anaheim CA
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a great way to create a starter kit for the survival tools needed. This lifestyle is expensive and if you are able to find a conference in your town, please attend. I'm even thinking about writing a few companies to see if I can receive products to try, it works sometimes. The information was a other asset to really apply the mental componets into play. -

I went to my first Obesity Conference today (10/4/19). I was sponsored and was able to attend at no cost to myself (blessings), I only attended today and opted out of tomorrow. One of the sessions I attended addressed various attachment issues and styles, this correlated to our relationship with food and how we feel about ourselves. We started with a brief exercise to bring you present and a few cleansing breaths. My other favorite part was all of the goodies in my swag bag, I'm ready for surgery now (the free samples saved me some money). I have so many protein samples, vitamin samples and etc. Just a few of the vendors included, Bariatric Advantage, Premier, Unjury, Celebrate, Fusion, Barimelts, LaBrada and etc. I also went to the free clothing exchange store, got a few items for after surgery and one really cute Michael Kors blouse for maybe one or two months post op. I meet some amazing people who have inspired me to keep going and believe that this wls is truly life altering if you allow it to be. My words for the remainder of the year are: inspired, rejuvenated, focused and grateful. I also shared how great my support group is on bariatric pal. -

Maybe my video can help anyone get a little bit more prepared than I was
Krimsonbutterflies replied to chula313's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for the video, very honest. I'm teary eyed and understanding the truth is different for each of us. I'm so darn nervous as January gets closer. Remember "your" why. I think I'm as prepared as I can be, but I'm going to the Obesity Conference in Anaheim, CA today. If I learn anything helpful to aid you, I'll share under this topic. Great information you've provided us with. Stay courageous. -
Urine Screening - Smoking
Krimsonbutterflies posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope to not offend anyone by my question...but here goes. In preparation for the surgery and all of the pre OP testing, giving up smoking is a requirement in order to be cleared and approved for the surgery. This includes nicotine, vaping, cbd oils, cannabis and etc. As of this weekend I will no longer be partaking until further notice, even though my bariatric team & I aren't realistically looking for me to have this procedure until January. I just feel like, I'm going to commit and give this my all and be prepared...who else has to give up smoking? -

Looks as if we are shaping into a December/January crew... not the Too Live Crew, but the 2020 Crew... I'm nervous too, but e everytime I see a picture of myself...I'm ready to get healthier, because I don't want to die from obesity related problems. -
Urine Screening - Smoking
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped smoking in June as I stated and tested clean the first week of September. I miss my tea and cbd, but the other benefits of being smoke free have been great. I can breathe better, my craving for it is still there--just not as strong, I have clarity...etc., etc. and etc. -

Supporting Cast
Krimsonbutterflies replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Update: I'm listening to people talking about wls and obese people who have lost weight via surgery. I will sum it up with the saying, "Ignorance is bliss..." These people who'd benefit from addressing their own problems and weight issues, are very opinionated and undereducated regarding our community. This is hard enough for me on my own and getting my mental in sync, I refuse to invite unsolicited advice and views in on my personal journey. Supporting cast, isn't looking for extras or drama. We each approach and deal with our journey the best way for us.. -
I got that magic phone call today, I'm approved for surgery and will meet the surgeon this Friday. I just finished the options classes 2 weeks ago and my last requirement on Monday. I'm very proud of myself for this progress, but there's more to do and as those of you who are on this journey know, we all need somebody. You are the star of your "life", but who is your supporting cast for this part of the journey and is it who you thought it would be? My support group is strong at times and other days I realize just how much of this is all me. I'm used to it being only me, but this journey requires vulnerability and transparency (at least for me), I need my supporting cast more than I thought... Who are your supporters???

Similar journey in some ways, thank you for sharing. I didn't realize this was an option for me either,I have a love hate feeling with it. Thankful and humbled for the help, but I'm still embarrassed sometimes that its come to such an important moment of change. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

New and anxious
Krimsonbutterflies replied to jaymmee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Kaiser crew, lol. I'm now surgery approved and called to get my date this morning for January and was advised to wait until November for my date. Kaiser doesn't book 4 months in advance, only 2 max. The scheduler was also able to answer a few questions for me. The surgeons generally have 5 surgeries a day, the bypass being first then up to 4 sleeves. My surgeon is the Chief of the Bariatric surgeons and etc., the sleeve w/o complications takes about 30-45 minutes. He does answer his emails , so any questions missed during our appointment he will answer via email.
