I'm having neck envy and those collarbones 😍😍😍. You look like your own daughter in your after picture and the mother in the before picture. Beautiful in both, radiant in the after and much younger. Everyone looks amazing and inspiring to the journey ahead. Thank you all for sharing and inspiring us to push through.

Still winning!!!! I love your approach and yes deflated breast are like dry roadkill in my mind. Going to get a lot of supportive bras, but during the rapid transition process, would good sports bras be okay? A great bra is expensive, any ideas?

Thank you for your candid response. I've always looked younger than my age, even when I was skinny. Hopefully I can maintain my youthful appearance, while getting healthy. I will get a breast lift or something if needed. I'm going to look into the collagen and etc. Thank you.

Damn, I think about the incidents in this thread and I'm still pre-op. Am I going to keep my baby face? Are these breast going to be pancakes? Will my friends be able to accept me not morbidly obese and not hate on me? Are ppl going to think I'm sick? My surgery is a private matter and not an open discussion, just like my obesity isn't the subject of the hour either. At least not with me as a willing participant or in my spectrum of hearing you.

I'm having my surgery at Kaiser in Southern California, I have a one day liquid diet.

New Direction has a few products that I like. I like the vanilla and lemon pudding. The soup was okay as well.

You are going to do AMAZING, you are encouraging me. I'm modifying my menu and have begun purging certain foods out of my rotation. I plan on going salad crazy, since lettuce is off limits for awhile post-op.

I want flameless candles and my mediation app on my phone for my room. Candles are soothing for my nerves and relaxes me. I don't care about the TV or anything loud. I have to be sure to set my room up at home with the flameless candles as well, so when I come home I can have a relaxing environment. They have a timer, which I love. I will leave the real candles for when I feel better. Lol, this is crazy...but soothing.

I'm praying for you, you are going to be up and interacting with your family like never before. My date is 1/31/20. Time is going by very quickly, you'll soon be telling us how well you are recovering. You are a Jedi, lol. Wish I could send you a pair of Star Wars socks for the hospital. I want to be here for my grandson as well, I love that baby.

What's your date? Stay focused on what your "why" ? Why are you having the surgery? I want to reverse a few health issues, before they progress into something unmanageable. Why manage when I can eliminate certain comorbidities!!! The past 6-7 years have had various health issues that I don't want to ignore, this has been a journey. Thankfully I have a caring Dr. and I also care about myself -- we worked together, to see what was actually going on with me. This was a long journey to Bariatrics in retrospect, this surgery is what my Dr and Specialist felt is the best tool to help me get 200% healthy. I think if we didn't have some nerves, that would be very unusual.

I'm in relief tears, because you understand what I'm feeling. Thank you for answering me in such detail. BP is like a journal entry for me that responds to what I'm expressing. I love having this support system 💜. My actual support system is selectively small, by my personal choice. I'm private and respect other's rights to their privacy as well. I have 2 people in my support group who are Post-op, one had to revise from vsg to rny (major complications after revision this year). I read these posts and truly value everyone sharing their very personal experiences. This is like Cliff Notes for Bariatric Surgery.

I'm glad to see this thread, because I need to express my concerns & thoughts. I'm scared of so many things as surgery is getting closer. I'm afraid of not looking like myself because I've lost too much weight,excessive loose skin, losing all of my hair, family and friends being alarmed when they see me after not seeing me. Complications from surgery and many concerns, that I know are mind tricks. My medical team and I have discussed these issues, I'm just scared. I've been obese for so long, I'm scared of what healthy looks like for me now. I know I'm being dramatic, fear of the unknown. You aren't going to be nauseous for the rest of your life. Just take it easy, follow your plan and listen to your body and what it likes after surgery. Hydrate, rest, protein and believe in yourself.
