Hi Everyone,I've never posted an e-mail before and hope I'm doing this correctly. I'm going to be banded on Sept. 8, 08 by Dr. Averbach at St. Agnes, in Maryland. The closer the date the more nervous I get. I guess that's to be expected. I've been on the internet for months reading different blogs and posts, and have to say that a lot of them have not been very up-beat. I was getting kind of depressed after reading them, but than I saw Amy's introduction post and read your reply's and noticed that you are all doing so well with your weight loss and that makes me feel so much better about my surgery.
Thanks for listening to the new girl.
Good Luck to you You will do great!!!

Hey MarylandMommy,Where did you have your procedure done? Thanks.
I had my surgery at Shady Grove Hospital!

I went for my first fill yesterday and they said I could not have one since I was not 30 days out...I am going back Thursday!!! They are only putting 1 cc in my 10cc band, so yours is a lot compared to mine
-
I went today for a fill (which is what my appt was for) and was turned down since I am only 26 days post op....they said I have to be at least 30!! I wish the idiot who made my appt knew that!! I am going back Thursday morning for my fill and then leave the next day for vacation!!

Looking forward to it! I am a little nervous though Hopefully this will be the kick I need to get that scale moving!!!!

Yes, i am exercising at least 3-4 times a week at the gym.....maybe I am just in a rut or something!
-
I get between 700-800 3.5 weeks post op....this includes 30 carbs, 70 Protein and 30 fat...but my carbs and fat are usually slacking a little....I am not really losing any weight and my nutritionist is not too concerned, but wants me to watch it for the next couple weeks since I am not eating that many cals....Do you think if I increased my caloric intake I would lose more weight? I am going in for my 1st fill on Monday, which she does not think will make a great difference since I am not eating alot...any help is appreciated!! I am very strict will logging on daily plate too...so I know my cals are accurate!!!! Again any insight is greatly appreciated!

I was also banded July 9th and am now on mushies. I have only lost about 8 lbs since surgery, but lost 17 prior to surgery on the 2 week liquid diet...I think it has a lot to do with that too...if you lose a lot prior to surgery it may slow a little after until the first fill. This of course, is jmo! I think we are all doing great...remember slow and steady wins the race

When did people start to notice your weight loss? I can tell a difference in my clothes...but I want to know when it will be apparent to others Not that I did this for anyone but myself...just wondering Thanks!

I need to hide my scale...because I am OCD about it and am getting discouraged!! I am going to try and weigh only once a week...it will probably make me feel a whole lot better!!!!!! Congrats on your loss....
-
yes...but it gets better when I am standing...it hurts most while sitting. It is not hurting today, Thank Goodness!

my doc has a 3 week liquid after surg. 1 week clears 2 week full, then i can start eating mushies and solids, just make sure i try only 1 thing at a time. i tried some gyro meat and it went down good but i make sure to chew chew chew. Personally i like the liquid stage because i looooove Tomato Soup with blended ricotta and some hot sauce.. yummy Also tried some tunafish and it was good to.you could have tuna on liquids?? I am jealous! I can only have shakes, broth, sf popsicles and sf Jello.....I am so done with this phase

I was banded July 9th also and will get to have mushies/soft food on Wednesday Can't wait!!!
-
wondering?
mine is 2 weeks and I am really done with it at this point!!
-
I am still on liquids...but my nutritionist said I would be able to drink wine...but to remember that it will hit me a lot faster than it used to. I will be drinking some wine when I got the beach in August...but probably not as much as I used to. I know I can never drink beer again. Not sure if that helps, but that is the info I received about alcohol!
Am I too tight???

I agree with Jodi...I have had issues with eating too fast/too large of bites....Good luck to you!
